Scan Pages, to put it simply, adds a scanning element to your iPhone. Developed by Ricoh Innovations Inc, the app allows you to scan product labels, signs, magazines, forms, documents and more. There are a few apps like it on iTunes, but this one stands out because of its sophisticated image processing technology.

Scanning is a breeze. Use your phone’s camera to take a snapshot of the document. Move the yellow dots to adjust the borders. This yellow rectangle can be used to fix distorted photos. The app is best used with documents on a white background with black text.

Click the Scan button. Afterwards you can put some notes on the scanned image. The item can be exported to Google Docs, Evernote or Dropbox. The file can be saved as a .pdf file. Scan pages has some tools that allow you to edit and clean up scanned images. It is possible to combine several images. The app also makes it very easy to export files.

Begin by choosing one or more of the images, tap the Press button, than share it via Google Docs, Evernote or Dropbox. Pages can also be tagged. Head to the detail screen by choosing the blue arrow icon. Press the + button.

Now you just have to one of the tags there to make a new one. Do this by tapping the “Create a New Tag” button. The Done button will take you out of the edit tag screen. Note that Scan Pages allows you to organize the items you scanned.

Scan Pages does not require any registration and is free. It is compatible with the iPod Touch and iPad.
