Subvein is a top down shooter that requires both a quick trigger and ability to strategize. Led by developer Ben Johnson and the rest of the Subvein development team, the game has more than 20 weapons, tons of user generated maps and several vehicles.
The game requires tactics, fast paced action and it’s a lot of fun. In Subvein you can buy many different kinds of weapons and you can drive a lot of vehicles as well. What makes the game different is you can mutate and gain new skills, so it’s like there’s an element of RPG to it.
Subvein also has numerous gaming modes so you don’t end up playing the same thing over and over. You start with a few basic weapons but as you succeed you will earn money and buy weapons and other equipment. The developers have done a good job of combining the strategic elements of an RPG and a shooter.
In the game you play the role of a mutant, the product of a failed scientific experiment. Half machine and half human, you now go out and seek payback. Subvein allows you to play solo as a mercenary or play in a multiplayer game and be part of the Scientists or the Rebels.
The graphics are very good and the sound effects are very atmospheric, adding to the intensity of the game. The controls are easy to learn so you won’t have problems learning how it works. Killing other mutants will provide you with a ton of experience and gain new powers. It’s a fun, frenetic game that any FPS/action shooter will like.
