There are new kids in the indie block and looks like they’re cool enough to stay. Phox, a Baraboo, WI-based band, is composed of Monica Martin, Matt Roberts, Zach Johnston, Matt Holmen, Cheston Van Huss, and Jason Krunnfysz. Their February release entitled Confetti transforms county highway music into an indie pop machine.

The six-track collection opens up with Slow Motion. This personal favorite will surely catch your attention with hand-clapping beats and hushed, earthy vocals.

Slowing things down a bit is Blue and White, a folk ambient piece that features ethereal vocals and fluttering melodies. While Barside embraces pure acoustic blended with effortless vocals that curls and belts out into heavenly bliss.

Laced up with heavy drumming and thick guitar riffs, Sol Novum wraps up the collection with an edgy flair.

All in all, Phox is an indie pop band that will keep on surprising its listeners with spiced-up tracks that are both experimental yet easily digestible.
