With Jaclyn Gee‘s moving harmonies inspired by hip hop, jazz, and R&B, composing a sound that is likeable is as easy as it is. In her debut EP Heart&Soul released on August 2012, the 21-year-old artist did not disappoint us.

Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Jaclyn Gee has worked with various performers such as Onyx, Vinnie Paz, Ill Bill, Zion I, Swollen Members, Snak The Ripper, Sweatshop Union, Datsik & Omar Linx. She has performed 22 shows across Canada and just recently, she toured to Europe to promote her album.

Among her accolades was being nominated for an Okanagan Arts Award in the category of Best Musical Recording with “Blue,” a collaborative album with Thomas Kjorven.

Clocking in at number one, I am Your Lady is a record that proves that Gee is worth putting into the crowd. It is a song fit for those who have an exquisite taste for beats and atmosphere. While Fresh demonstrates thumping and unending beats that would make you move on your feet.

Dig in to the songs of the album and absorb the rhythm of Heartbeat, which exhibits the fine soulful voice of the singer. Channeling her emotions, she performs this song with much emotion and deep expression.

Dirty Money ticks all the right spots with a downtempo, sensual approach. The dark, powerful energy stirring within the core of the track makes this a must-hear.

In Music, the collection closes up with a combination of hip hop and  R&B  musings. Gee’s effortless but sharp vocals is highlighted throughout the piece.

Heart&Soul establishes Jaclyn Gee as a key player in the indiescape. The tracks in this collections showcase what this young singer has already accomplished, and what she can do in the future.
