Breakneck is an aptly titled game from PikPok as it’s fast and furious. You’re on a high tech speedster being chased by aliens around a strange world. The storyline isn’t new, but the graphics look great and the gameplay is easy to get into. If you’re into racing and alien shoot ‘em ups, this is the combination for you.
The layouts in every level are beautifully set and challenging, with precision required for many of the sharp turns. So not only are you dodging the aliens, but you also have to make sure you don’t crash into one of the walls as you go about your mission.
There are coins scattered throughout each level, and you can collect these to get bonuses, power ups and other stuff that will help you race. Sometimes the coins are a bit hard to obtain because they’re very near the edge of the buildings, and you could end up crashing just to get them. That being said Breakneck isn’t impossible to complete as with a swift maneuvering you can grab the coins without going up in flames.
Many of the coins give your vehicle special powers and weapons, and others will augment the many power ups in the game. Do note there are IAPs in Breakneck but you can disable this feature at the Settings in your mobile.
Bottom line: Breakneck is a visually stunning game, and the frenetic pace is going to keep you on your toes. You might end up crashing a lot, but it’s going to keep you coming back for more.
