Carsie Blanton: Buoy

There's no missing the artistic talent underlying Carsie Blanton's follow-up album, Buoy. Originally planned as two five-track EPs, the project evolved into a full-blown nine-song catalog that was released last July 22, 2009. Based on Philapadelphia, PA, Carsie Blanton is a singer/songwriter who have already toured with Paul Simon, the Wood Brothers, the Weepies and Joan Osborne. She is known for her uncanny lines and tasty American pop tracks. Currently, she has released her latest album Idiot Heart.

Total Inspector's new release In Silico will transport you to a technicolor dream. This solo project is composed of five well-crafted tracks playing along the boundaries of experimental and electronic music. Daniel Felipe, better known as Total Inspector is an independent artist from Bogotá, Colombia. He have loved and worked in music since 2003 and has collaborated with numerous local hip-hop bands. His tunes have also been played in local radio stations such as Radionica.

From the best selling author Paulo Coelho, the man behind the The Alchemist and Veronika Decides to Die comes yet another soulful story published last 2008. The Way of the Bow, centers around the story of Tetsuya, the best archer in the country, who conveys his teachings to a boy in his village. Unlike his other works, Coelho's writing here was surprisingly Japanese in style - similar to a master giving advice to an apprentice. He showed a deep knowledge about archery (including its technical aspect), and used it as a metaphor to convey teachings on work, overcoming difficulties, steadfastness and courage to take risky decisions.

The Killing Joke

Blow your socks off with the suspense fiction The Killing Joke. Directed by Sebastian Lopez, this 15-minute film centers around a mysterious woman who discovers a red balloon in an almost-deserted street, and by a twist of fate finds herself facing her biggest fear. It stars Gustavo Marzo and Clarissa Staracci. The movie pays homage to the seventies horror era by using classic elements of suspense. I liked how the transitions of sequences are flawless; you could really see that the team behind this worked extra hard. Every detail was not missed, from the empty bullets, the pulling trigger to the grand ending.

Spanish Prisoners' latest release Gold Fools will bind your ears in a psychedelic magic spell. Hailing from Brooklyn, the quartet is composed of Leo Maymind, Amberly Hungerford, Mike DiSanto and James Higgs. They met in the winter of 2009 and started to create great music together. Two years in the making, their LP Gold Fools offers nine dream pop tracks that'll surely take you on a kaleidoscopic ride.

Francis Scott Fitzgerald: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Up for free grabs is F. Scott Fitzgerald's famous short story, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Since its first publishing on May 27, 1922, this literary piece have been repeatedly anthologized in the author's book entitled Tales of the Jazz Age. Because of its popularity, it had been adopted into film by director David Fincher in 2008. The film stars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.
