After receiving a huge amount of praise and positive reviews for their album as well as live performances, Republic of Light seems to have had a good start on their musical journey.

These Chicago natives created quite a bit of noise in the indie music world with their album Go Rococo. The crew is composed of Alan on vocals, Brian on guitars, Greg on keyboards and Rosie on guitars.

Combining a flurry of indie pop, new wave, great lyrics and tons of catchy rhythm; the band is easily likable while the record is a great go-to album if you want something to keep your energy up and bouncing.

I'm not going to deny that I enjoyed the album on first listen. There's a fun and exciting energy that emanates from each track. Even though much of it sounds like a mix of new wave with the melodramatic indie pop of Spoon, it's pretty hard to resist them and keep yourself from enjoying the record.

Kicking things off is title track, Go Rococo. It's actually the shortest cut on the album at only 2 minutes. It combines keyboards, hipster style vocals and some catchy beat. The album then transitions into a full blown dance, hipster track, Lotus. With a mix of guitars and steady beat, you'll find yourself toe tapping to this one. Meanwhile, 22centstamp is a fun lovin' cut that extends with great lyrics and a jaunty rhythm. Alan's vocal work is quite something.

Go Rococo is a great record to grab. Although the band's sound quality isn't as polished yet, they're pretty close. They have all the right elements in place; given a bit more time to evolve, they're sure to blow listeners even more with their sound.

Upbeat and completely danceable; the debut EP from No Way Josie! will easily find its way into your Saturday nightclub playlist. With 6 tracks in tow, the album resounds in an 80s/90s dance pop vibe that will take you on a trip down memory lane filled with the amazing electro-dance pop goodness.

Vocals for the group are provided by personal trainer (and now a great vocalist) Kym Perfetto while the beats are spun by producer and music engineer, Andrew Toews.

The EP fires off with one powerful track; Want It Back will make you dance around your room, speed up your morning run, and provide you with enough energy to start off any of the rainy days thrown in your way. The cut is also one of my personal favorites, so if you are a fan of spot on synths and masterfully put together beats, it could become one of your favorites as well.
Let Me Show U, on the other hand, takes the tempo a bit down. It shows off the gorgeous vocals by Kym and the same fun electro dance flavor we already fell in love with.

Other cuts that should put you in a happy, feel-good mood include Around The World and Nothing To Spare. Both tracks are accompanied with good mixing and gorgeous steady vocals. The songs on the EP really showcase the perfection of dance electro pop and will surely get you up and dance in no time. Apart from the originals, the compilation also includes two remixes from Cosmo Luxx Arena and a Wintry Mix Dub.

You get a great musical package with this duo. If all you need is some great dance party music to throw on for your usual Friday night gatherings, then do check this one out. Three years in the making, the group was started by Simon Lock, a retired house deejay, when he was looking for a production partner to compliment his dance based ideologies. He was then joined by Isis Graham (another house deejay) in 2010 and singer/songwriter/bassist Adam Gasten in the following year.

The trio is based in Vancouver and Calgary, they are currently working on their full-length album to be released in the spring of 2012.

The beat drops nearly instantly in Love Dub. With a playful vibe its powerful opening uses sporadic drum beats spreading out into a straight-forward techno melody.

Strike follows up with ambient tunes slowly building into a revolution of buzz guitars and edgy beats. Axis, on the other hand, relies more heavily on echoed vocals. The instrumentation on this track is superb. From the intricate beats, the incorporation of horns to the guitar solos, Terrace clearly showed their vast knowledge on their genre.

The album closes up with the brilliant Talk. An immediate favorite, the swirling electric tunes will transport you into a psychedelic roller coaster ride.

Pollen is a dance album perfect for those seeking a steady electronic high. The tracks are well-conceived and the execution is brilliant. One thing I liked about this album is its wide use of different instruments. So press play, listen, and dance your heart out.

Meeting in early 2010 at a Michigan show house, Caroline Myrick and Darin Rajabian shared a mutual love for dance and pop-music. The duo soon produced songs that blended Caroline's soft vocals with Darin's classic electro tracks.

On the Run is a great musical genesis for the album. From heavy drum beats and the plethora of instrumentation that follows, this song will surely take your ears back to the disco-infused era.

A personal favorite, Radio follows up with infectious tunes and playful key-arrangement. Caroline's sweet voice takes the front row on this track. With ambient harmonies played on the background, this is definitely a must-hear.

Nineties paints a psychedelic musical soundscape with thick synths and arena-sized dream pop elements. It evokes an edgy ethereal vibe perfect for chilling out.

The duo's abilities are maximized in their closing track Drive. This piece, maintains a pop sensibility while incorporating a higher dose of electro tunes.

Radio showcases some truly great music, I will not be surprised if Nightlife makes it big in the near future. The collaboration of the two artists flawlessly create tracks that are essential to any music lover.

We Used to Exist is one of those bands you're lucky to come across in your search for awesome indie pop music online. The Lights May Still Show is the first album for the duo and it's sounding like a promising electro pop compilation.

Made up of Timothy Lalonde and Dean Rostron, the two had to meet from across two different continents to record the album. They're currently based in Berlin, Germany and even though they are fairly new (just formed back in September 2011) the band is proving that they are worth watching out for.

Filled with great energy and upbeat tunes, The Lights May Still Show, is equipped with tracks that range from beautiful hipster indie to acoustic pop singles each containing great vibes. Certain songs have that 90s television soundtrack feel, for instance, And They Said I'd Never Make It, sounds like it belongs to Malcomn in the Middle or maybe The Wonder Years.

Opening single, Fish combines plenty of what the guys are really good at. From harmonic singing to a mix of sounds like whistles, pianos and swampy vocals along with positive lyrics; the song draws attention like a flower to a bee. Meanwhile, Fifteen Knives, draws on a hipster groove while also subtly hinting at 80s pop.

In the end, this album from We Used to Exist is a melting pot of sorts. It showcases their diverse influences and their capacity to effortlessly jump from one type of music to the other. One thing's for sure though, the duo have created a compilation that is both catchy and winsome. The songs have a knack for making listeners feel good. Thanks to the positive lyrics, it's perfect for many hopeless romantics out there. It's worth grabbing for pop lovers everywhere. Take a listen to these guys and enjoy!

City of Glass easily captures that thin line between super pop and indie rock. Their sound is enveloped with almost everything that makes you want to dance around, head bob, stomp your feet and love indie pop rock even more.

This Canadian duo have had a successful debut with their EP Equations, leading them to tour the Canadian circuit quite extensively. To gear up for their full length debut, they've released this teaser EP of sorts, The Diving Bell. Filled with 4 indie dance rock cuts, it's an EP worth listening to and checking out.

The Diving Bell EP is filled with promising tracks that showcases the bands capacity to turn a set of ringing guitars and keyboards into a delightful indie dance track. Starting with Sticks and Stones, the boys exude a confidence in their sound fit for veterans in the industry. The cut is upbeat with softened guitars and sincere vocals. It might take awhile before you get used to the deep voice that's singing but once you do, you'll realize that it fits nicely along with the rest of the poppy beat.

After an initial dance fest, City of Glass treats listeners to their quiet side with Tourist. The song is slightly slower and has a moody, almost reflective feel complete with synths and gentle guitars. It's both evocative and melancholic; like having a dark cloud hovering over your head wherever you go. The rest of the tracks include, Little Shadows, which brings back the bands fun and upbeat side; while the last single, Control, features complex synths and odd signatures.

Serving as a prelude to their full debut this 2012, two of the cuts on here (Sticks and Stones as well as Tourist) will be included in the upcoming album. If this is anything to go by, you can be certain to expect a solid record from this Canadian twosome. The band has a strong grasp of their target sound and have a knack for creating polished tracks that deserves a listen.

Taking their name from the iconic movie Pulp Fiction, The Bonny Situation has definitely got one of the coolest names any indie film geek will recognize.

The band itself is from Germany and have been around since 2007 with a slightly different lineup back then. Although the band admits that their sound is mostly consists of pop music, they do like to mix it up a bit; adding a little alternative and even new wave in there.

Robot Says I Love You is a 2010 release from the group. Most of the tracks on the record were inspired by the contents of a 1978 diary from someone with the initials R.B.T. 

Creating music that is quite danceable, the band's sound is a fusion of electronica and pop. Kicking things off from the record is the track, You Build Me Up. It's a love song of sorts, pledging affection and devotion to a special someone. Meanwhile, The Way You Are, is a punchier track that calls to mind Aussie band, INXS.

Some of the other tracks like Human Says I Love You and Holding Back, are a bit more mellow. The latter track particularly seems perfect for that prom dance capper where all the couples slow dance and just be in love for the remainder of the song.

Apart from these last two songs, the rest of the album is one big pop dance rock affair. There are plenty of cuts on here that serves as the perfect party music; they're upbeat, with melodramatic lyrics as well as great mix of instruments.

The Bonny Situation is made up of Benjamin Francis Santiago (vocals), Andreas Hollywood Bacon (guitar), Hendry Halo Meautaux (Bass), Patrick Spencer White (Syntheziser/Samples) und B-Ray (drums.)

Exclusively released last September 2010 to Rap-Up.com, this free mixtape is a prelude to the singer’s third album formerly entitled All I Want Is Everything. The said album was then released as Jumping Trains under BlackGround records due to a misunderstanding with the songbird’s former record label.

This 11-song musical treat starts off with its title track, Can’t Take That Away From Me, a danceable song where the artist’s powerful voice is matched with equally raved up beats; if you are familiar with JoJo, imagine her former single Beautiful Girls with an addition of a powerful and edgy flair.

Running on Empty revamps JoJo from a sweet charmer to someone who belts out along stingy electric guitars, while the tracks entitled Pretty Please and My Time is Money will surely get your moves on with hand clapping rhythms and pure R&B tunes.

The album takes than a slightly slower turn with Just a Dream and Boy without a Heart, both of which showcase the singer’s amazing vocals backed up with gorgeous melodies and a handful of acoustic strings. Perfect tracks for a cozy afternoon.

One of my favorites, however, is In the Dark. The song quickly reminded me of a young Madonna... a young Madonna singing sexy electric beats, that is. This must-hear will surely give all the pop lovers out there that right kind of high.

I personally liked the whole album; there is nothing more remarkable than a young artist exploring new territory. Can’t Take That Away From Me offers fresh new tunes that were surely worth the risk.

Making their second appearance here on FrostClick, the gypsy folk, Barcelona band is back with a new record.

The Freak Fandango Orchestra is an energetic and quirky bunch of musicians who like to play fun and unusual music.

Their first record Love, Death and a Drunken Monkey was entertaining and came doused with beautiful instrument work and amusing lyrics. For their latest release, Tales of a Dead Fish, they retain their crazy upbeat sound, still incorporating humor, superb instrument work and a very catchy beat to every single one of their cuts.

Mixing gypsy, folk, punk rock and polka, The Freak Fandango Orchestra will definitely capture your attention whether you like it or not.

The record opens with Requiem for a Fish, a jaunty track that has saxophones blaring, occasional chanting and some serious catchy tune. It starts off things nicely with its uptempo sound, making you want to stand up, grab a partner and start dancing for no reason. Almost all of the songs have this same infectious beat. Third track, Balkan Beats, seems a great fit for The Mask to dance along to and do all his stunts. There's a whole layer of instrument work that beautifully merges with the lyrics.

Meanwhile, Hitman's Love Song (both the last track and the one featuring Paola) combines distinctive vocals with a nice semi-laid-back beat. It's probably the "slowest" song on the record yet it's something you can imagine Charlie Chaplin still prancing around to.

Tales of a Dead Fish is a great album. It's hard not to fall for the music, whether you're into this kind of sound or not, since it manages to give you that feel-good feeling. Perfect for fans of Gogol Bordello. It's a genuinely fun album to check out.
