CelticUnderground Session 3

Northern Irish rapper and producer Jee4ce (pronounced G-Force) worked very hard to bring you this mixed album. He went around for almost a year collecting tracks from some of the best hip-hop artists from Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This is a third installment of Celtic Underground Sessions. Below is the tracklisting and the names of the artists featured on the album.

Brad Sucks: Out of It

Brad Sucks has been writing, recording & giving out his music free on the internet since 2001. 2003 has been a busy year for Brad, as he's signed up with a progressive record label - Magnatune - and released his first album entitled "I Don't Know What I'm Doing". "Out of It" was a long awaited follow-up to Brad's debut album. It was released in September 2008 and it immediately became a hit among his fans. Download it free under Creative Commons license.

SXSW: 2009 Compilation

The South by Southwest SXSW music festival is one of the largest and most popular in the United States. For the fifth year in a row, SXSW has released a DRM-free, RIAA-safe collection of songs totaling 6 GB, which can all be downloaded for free, thanks to BitTorrent. For some of the previous editions, SXSW itself has offered torrents showcasing the artists scheduled to perform at the festival.

The Franks: Un E.P.

The Franks is an indie punk band from Los Angeles, California. In 2008 they've released their debut "album" entitled "Un E.P." under a Creative Commons license. I put the word "album" in quotes because they zoom through the material in under 15 minutes with 2 songs being in the area of one minute (maybe that's why is it called "Un E.P.)! Aside from their length, the songs are actually pretty fun and enjoyable.

Grace Valhalla: PEAK~

Grace Valhalla is a young, fresh female French DJ & composer. To date, she's released four albums - "PEAK~" is her second. It's the most electronic of her creations and definitely worth a listen. Download the Zipped Album & a torrent file here.

Tim Fite: Over the Counter Culture

Tim Fite is an American singer, song-writer from New Jersey living and working in Brooklyn. His releases vary widely in style going between indie to alternative to country to hip hop. He used to be a half of an comedy rap duo Little T & One Track Mike best known for their 2001 single “Shaniqua.” After the success of their first single, they went on releasing another one and touring for two years with Outkast, Blink 182, Green Day, My Morning Jacket, Ben Kweller and many others.

Drunksouls: On verra plus tard…

Drunk Souls is a totally independent Reggae/Rock/Funk band from France. Their songs, written both in English and French, are sometimes fun & playful, sometimes dark & sad, but always very insightful and strong. I think it is the ever-present bass that makes them so powerful, but check them out for yourself.

Andres Ilar: Twilight Rainfalls

Anders Ilar is a Swedish electronic musician and producer. He started his relationship with music as a child, playing the piano at age six. He discovered electronic music as a teenager and spent countless hours playing with synthesizers, sequencers and drum machines. Since he was never 100% happy with his compositions he stopped recording in late 90s, but quickly returned after discovering computer software as a way of producing music. To date, he has released 5 albums and 13 EPs & 12''. "Twilight Rainfalls" is a free mp3 album Andres released as a gift to his fans and friends.

Jonathan Coulton: JoCo Looks Back

At the end of 2008 Jonathan Coulton teamed up with the Creative Commons in support of their fund raising drive and created a 1gb jump drive filled with his greatest hits. If that wouldn't be enough, he has also included unmixed audio files of all the songs so CC supporters could easily remix his compositions. All song files were 320kbps MP3s and all unmixed audio tracks were 256 VBR MP3s. Now the whole compilation is available for a free downloads on legaltorrents.com.
