Short, loud and energetic are the best words to describe this raucous EP from The Zombie Dandies.

These two Frenchmen are obviously fans of the Motley Crue-era punk rock. Creating this nice, fast paced combo of guitars and vocals; the EP is a great picker-upper if you’re feeling like a sleepy head.

The Zombie Dandies are made up of K1000 Zombie on guitars and vocals as well as Marty Dandy on drums, bass and vocals. Together, they produce glam rock, horror and shock rock music like there’s no tomorrow.

Sticking true to their punk rock/rock aesthetics, the songs here run between 1-3 minutes only. Don’t be fooled by the length though, they create punchy music like no other. Kickstarting the noise barrage is Girls&Whisky, a loud, Ramones-influenced cut that induces some serious head banging or jerky movements on the listener’s part. It serves as a great opening cut as it sets the stage for all the energy coming through from the succeeding tracks.

Speaking of energy, Addicted has plenty of it. With slightly shouty (almost whiny) vocals, the song can easily feed a crowd packed in a tiny bar for a rock concert. It’s fast, loud and catchy, just how rock songs should be. Meanwhile, KISS My Boots and Zombie Dandies, finish off the EP.

This French duo can throw a rock party easy with their music. Check out their brand of rock and see if it’s right up your alley.

Track List:
1. Girls&Whisky 01:47
2. Addicted 02:50
3. KISS my Boots 02:33
4. Zombie Dandies 03:07

We’ve featured tons of compilation records here on the blog before. Adding one more can’t hurt, right? So here’s a little something from indie label, Eitherorrecords.

The company is described as a label created by musicians for fellow musicians. Specializing in a variety of indie rock, punk, emo and summer rock bands, the label is the perfect haven for new artists.

This is the third compilation from them and it’s a nice venue to discover brand new groups to add to your regular playlist.

Either/Or and More Vol. 3 is one hefty compilation. It’s composed of about 30 tracks from the independent label, Eitheror Records.

The compilation is made up of bands that were part of their roster since they formed back in 2009. It’s a big list to go through but luckily there are plenty of great picks on here.

For instance, opening single from Turnover, is pretty good. It’s a standard pop punk track from the Virginia-based band. Fast, chanty vocals, distorted guitars and overall, fun beat; it’s a perky start for the record. There’s also a nice Beach Boys cover from Michigan band, Citizen. They did a pretty good job creating a slightly updated version of Barbara Ann.

A few other tracks worth the mention include Alison Weiss’ Fingers Crossed, Beast Makes Bomb’s 1,2,3,4 and final track from His Day Has Come, Where I Belong. You’ll find a ton of other great tracks on here. It’s a great album to sort through so take a listen and enjoy!

Totally Fine is ‘totally’ ramped up compared to their previous EP and it ‘totally’ works. Three very strong tracks guide this EP straight to the repeat setting.

Although Camden’s sound can simply be thrown into a the indie alternative rock genre, there’s something that sets Camden aside.

Lead by the strong vocals of Jason Sibilia, Boston four piece Camden release their best work to date. Along with the new rockier sound, lyrical charms set this to top shelve status. ‘Could you cut it California?’ sends Diamonds In Bloom straight into the fun sing-along you’ve been waiting for during that long commute to happiness.

Camden stays active by playing shows throughout the states, recently enjoying the Bushwick Walkabout Festival in NY with many other talents. A simple ‘like’ on their facebook will keep you posted on when they might be playing near you.

Consider yourself privileged as you stumble upon The Shones‘ selft-titled EP released March this year.

Having played for the last seven years in Madison, Wisconsin, listen as this five-piece band reinvent their sound in the buzzing Boston music scene. The Shone’s consists of Fransiscus Pobar Lay (Lead Vocals), Alex Leeds (Bass/ Backup Vocals), Paul Arbaje (Guitar), Henry Stoehr (Guitar), and Teddy Matthews (Drums/ Backup Vocals).

Dirty Feeling sets the stage as it offers three essential elements for the band’s musical brand—rock, blues, and garage. This opening track solidifies what The Shones can offer to their listeners.

Following with a steady guitar and drum hook, Wendy bites the ears with an edgy surf rock aesthetic. The band’s high energy in making recording the song is evident that it can be easily translated and absorbed to the listeners.

Using a bit more surf rock, Hold Up features chill vocals and steady instrumentation. While closing track Bolero wraps up the album in a slow escalating piece that’s condensed with tightly woven acoustic rock tunes.

In The Shones EP, the band has successfully placed their self in the game as someone to watch out for. With a new face lift and fresh tunes, this EP screams that the band is officially separating itself from the pack.

Track list:
1. Dirty Feeling
2. Wendy
3. No More
4. Hold Up
5. Moon
6. Bolero

With short pops of energy, this self titled debut from Canto el Cuerpo Electrico is a likable compilation even if you may not speak the language.

Carrying a simple acoustic pop sound, the album is filled with 10 cuts recorded by Lautaro Barcelo and crew. A few of the tracks included in the album first made an appearance in the Lupacchiotto Project; a musical project started by Lautaro where one track is offered for free each day until the end of days.

Filled with happy and melodic tracks, this self titled debut still bears plenty of great cuts that should be noted.

Joining Lautaro in this new project are Ezequiel Dobrovsky, Matas Gonzalez, Luciano Mutinelli and Juan Abraham.

Opening the compilation is Poca Obvia Cancion de Amor or roughly translated as “Little Obvious Love Song.” After two or three listens, it’s easy to make this song a staple on your morning playlist. It has a nice jaunty tune and background harmonies that complement the vocals beautifully.

Although the more upbeat tunes create a happy mood for the compilation, there are several slow, quiet cuts that standout as well. Soy Tu Televisor (I’m Your Television) is a simple semi-acoustic cut featuring slightly high-pitched vocal work and dreamy melodies while Loco, turns down the pace slower with a cerebral, depressing vibe.
You’ll find a gorgeous mix of acoustic tracks on here. The songs flourish with charm and simplicity that makes it standout. Listen and see if you like it.

Track list:
1. Poca obvia canción de amor
2. Bye bye
3. Soy tu televisor
4. Don de vivir
5. Picardías
6. Festejo
7. Jeremías Ascot
8. Loco
9. Abrasivos
10. Hay gente que sólo sabe de moverse

Sweater up as The Reigning Monarchs‘ self-titled album hits the FrostClick scene. Jam-packed with thirteen tracks of rock and surf, this album will surely give the North Hollywood-based band a strong indie following.

Fanfare for the Well-Dressed Man opens the album with thick guitar strumming, rhythmic drum beats, and jazzy horns that screams playful surf rock. Short Pants for Fatty follows with a raw energy and a feet-stomping vintage tunes that’s incredibly catchy.

Bask in waves and cold drinks as Johnny Mac screams perfect summer music all throughout. Low key guitar play-ups and reggae sounding melodies adds to the chill vibe of the piece.

Consisting of rapid strumming and danceable beats, Fuel the Jets features that kind of melody that will surely awaken the senses. Cuffed & Linked on the other hand takes a more jazzy sensibility as slow sensual horns glimmers in each note.

Cowboy Shirt closes the album with a combination of surf rock and country flair. The band’s courage to experiment and expand to other genre is evident in every song, giving variety to the whole collection.

Rat Attack likes it loud! These boys have a knack for creating pop punk party music that easily gets people jumping up and down. If you’re looking for an album that you can chill out to in the corner as you read your favorite book, well, this isn’t the one.

Filled with 5 fast, crashing and thumping tracks; this self-titled debut leaves you no rest at all. It is energetic from start to finish with some guaranteed fun times for good measure.

The band is made up of Mike Hodges, Charlie Wesson, Dan Wilson and James Flavell. The boys are currently based in Exeter, England.

A Bird in Hand opens the party doors and sends it crashing. The song is fast, furious and has enough spunk to convince you to listen. You get great instrument work where you can easily jam to the beats; guitars are kept crunchy and there’s a nice bassline on there as well. Vocal work is also expressive and energetic.

Facehooked is a slight protest song for a certain social website we’re all too familiar with. It’s all about griping and shouting but coupled with a nice hook; making it a fun track to listen to. This is probably one of my favorites in the compilation. It’s followed by the shortest track on the EP, Look Back and Laugh.

The last two cuts, Heartbeat and Bad Catholic are the two tracks with music videos already released. The former cut is a catchy single with nice pacing. It’s simple but it definitely works. The latter on the other hand, storms through with glaring, old school style riffs before transforming into a full pledged pop punk number.

For a debut record, Stellar Young definitely places their best foot forward in Everything at Once. This indie alternative rock record might have traces of a bedroom recording but it’s more than enough to satisfy the senses.

Stellar Young (known before as The City Never Sleeps) are based out of Albany, NY. These boys aren’t exactly new in the business, in fact they’ve managed to share the stage with the likes of Paramore and Badfish to name a few.

After years of playing together, Everything at Once marks the boys’ first studio album. From the sound of it, there’s plenty of promise up ahead for this five piece crew.

Everything at Once is comprised of tracks that exude charm and charisma from the moment you listen to it. Opening with upbeat indie pop track, Playing With Guns; the song has a nice catchy rhythm that’s coupled with good guitar riffs and a catchy chant chorus.

Second and third track (Restless and The Universe is a Bully) are both upbeat numbers designed to keep the listener’s attention. They do the job quite well since both tracks are easily likable. In contrast, Speak Now (Good Man) and Dorothy are mid-tempo to slow melodic rock affairs showcasing the bands’ capacity to slow down while still engaging the listener.

Final track, Animals, seals the deal with awesome guitar work running throughout the track as well as some really good rhythm to accompany it.

Overall, the album provides a nice catchy set of tracks that will easily complement any music lover’s taste. Yes, some tracks do sound a bit too much alike but there’s still no denying this is a compilation worth enjoying. It’s the kind you put on and leave on without worrying of one horrible track to grace your ears.
If you love indie rock with touches of pop and good harmonies, Everything at Once will be quite a treat. Enjoy!

Track list:
1. Playing With Guns
2. Restless
3. The Universe is a Bully
4. The Misses
5. We Own Nothing
6. Alright
7. As You Go
8. Speak Now (Good Man)
9. Dorothy
10. Animals

Israel-born singer/songwriter Kori is a self-taught musician who enjoys experimenting between genres of rock, indie and pop music. Moreover, the artist also dabbles in photography and painting on the side.

Nightgame is among his latest release. Like his previous records, he plays all of the instruments by himself.

There’s a couple of genres he explores in the record but mostly his sound echoes a brooding alternative rock sound. He couples it with deep, almost one-tone vocals that add a darker mood to the tracks.

The album starts with the title track, Nightgame. A semi-quiet single where Kori opens with slightly inaudible vocals before emanating a sexy Michael Hutchence type of feel. Summer, is another mellow acoustic pop single that best showcases the singer’s capability at creating beautiful mood.

A few other cuts that’ll give listeners a good feel for Kori’s music include, Tonight in The Moonlight, Goodbye, I’m Taking My Chances and Now That I’ve Become a Man.

Although there are tracks worth skipping, quite a few are interesting enough to warrant a listen. Personally, Kori seems to excel at creating moody, dark tracks that are enveloped in melancholia. His voice exudes a relatable despair on occasion, which go really well with minimal instruments.

Take a listen to the record and see if this is your cup of tea. It’s available at a name-your-price download.

It is not quite often that we hear from a band all the way from Austria that caters to our spiritual needs and this is where still noah comes in. They create music and songs to share the wonderful melodies and thoughts life has to offer that will surely warm your hearts and move your emotions.

Ahead is their first EP released last 2010. The three track album contains songs that are not perfectly studio-mastered yet certainly will be very enjoying when listened to. It’s a matter of taste and quality despite having the records made at home and restricted by their own limitations. Expect a mix of pop and rock music with a little bit of spiciness here and there.

It kicks off with Finally, easily emphasizing its acoustic vulnerability which is a common delight of spiritual sensitivity. Followed by Decide, striking a balance between the trending natures of our current genres while staying faithful to one’s core. Lastly, Eternity is a soiree of percussion instruments, capturing a dramatic and inspirational motif for the listeners.

still noah did a good job in providing deep satisfaction and the ability to publicly express emotions that are somewhat coded within us. Ahead is a good listen which would effortlessly creep into your ears and is guaranteed to be of good company every minute of your day.
