PunkANation: The State of Mind on the Violent Side

If you listen through this album, you'd be hard pressed to believe that PunkANation is simply a one-man project. Truth is that, it is. The man behind all that noise and punk rockin' goodness is Ashwin Rao. Obviously, he has a very special affinity for punk rock. The State of Mind on the Violent Side is, according to him, still under the mixing and mastering process. However, for those who love the gritty sound of DIY music, he's put it up for free download. The album is a 10-track compilation that should be considered one of the best punk rock finds for the year. It's raw, dirty, traditional and absolutely awesome!

RAT ATTACK by Rat Attack

Rat Attack likes it loud! These boys have a knack for creating pop punk party music that easily gets people jumping up and down. If you're looking for an album that you can chill out to in the corner as you read your favorite book, well, this isn't the one. Filled with 5 fast, crashing and thumping tracks; this self-titled debut leaves you no rest at all. It is energetic from start to finish with some guaranteed fun times for good measure. The band is made up of Mike Hodges, Charlie Wesson, Dan Wilson and James Flavell. The boys are currently based in Exeter, England.

Tiger Bones: Go Over Here

Tiger Bones is a four piece self-described “weirdo surf rock band.” They might sound “weird” but they definitely know how to catch the listener’s attention. Go Over Here is the group’s debut compilation and it’s filled with hazy vocals, some funky 70s style rock and an overall great mood.

Crescent Fresh is the second album by The Mondales, a three-piece pop punk band coming from St. Louis. As an upcoming group from a genre where bands like New Found Glory, Blink-182 and Paramore already flourish, they sure have a numerous challenges to conquer but nevertheless their humble beginnings will eventually lead to their inevitable mainstream success.

Coroner for the Police: Gentleman’s Relish

They are the Coroner for the Police. They are a 1920s mobster rock-punk band with a penchant for a good suit. They are the fact and the reason why you will have loads of fun listening to music for the next couple of minutes. Hailing from the United Kingdom, Dave, Nathan, John and Dan formed the band at the start of 2012 in a clingy warehouse then gigs followed wherein beers were drunk and friends were made.

The better half of writer, Neil Gaiman; superstar Amanda Palmer and The Grand Theft Orchestra are treating fans and new listeners with their latest effort: Theatre Is Evil.
