Juanitos: Soul Africa

Juanitos first showed up on our blog all the way back in June 2009. And now with more of great albums under its belt (including over 400 concerts and hundreds of thousands of downloads – if not more) I thought it might be a right time for a little re-introduction; especially that after our crazy winter I’m sure we are all in need of some ‘summer night party’ sounds.

K. Sparks: The Trilogy Chapter 3: The Resurrection

New York based rapper, K. Sparks, hits up the airwaves again by putting a final cap to his Trilogy series. This latest release is entitled Chapter 3: The Resurrection. This new effort comes doused with 19 hot tracks that are true to K. Sparks fashion. It's filled with catchy beats, great skills and an awesome vibe to it. Like his previous releases, Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, this compilation also sees several talented artists and producers contributing their skills. Artists and musicians like Wordsmith, Laëtitia Dana, Jeff Chery, and Ahmad , to name a few, pitch in their talents to complete this record. If you love the sound of K. Sparks and have followed this awesome series, then you definitely shouldn't miss this one. He pulls out all the stops and hands out great tracks one after the other.

The Black Sunn: GodSound

East Baltimore emcee, The Black Sunn, vividly illustrate life's good and bad points. GodSound is the latest offering from this talented emcee. Unlike most hip hop albums, this one resonates with positivity, but it doesn't ignore the reality of life as well. This is the second full length record from the rapper. With its poetic lyrics, dope beats and honest look at life; it's definitely an album worth checking out.

Will Hammond Jr.: Soul Folk Continued

Neosoul progressive tracks with a touch of funk. Will Hammond Jr. likes to put on his sunglasses as he transforms into his alter ego, Soul Folk. Hammond is best known as a singer/songwriter who helped pen the Billboard hit for Tara Kemp, "Hold You Tonight." With the success of his songwriting prowess proven, he moves on to recording his own tracks and debuted his first album Soul Folk Continued in 2004.

K. Sparks: The Trilogy Chapter 2

Multi-talented hip hop artist and FrostClick staple, K. Sparks, has just dropped his second installment from his Trilogy tapes, Chapter 2. Presented by Kevin Nottingham this time around, Chapter 2 showcases 10 fresh tracks filled with classic hip hop beats and mixed to perfection. A constant presence in the online rap/hip-hop community, K. Spark's previous releases - Definition, Trilogy: Chapter 1 and Super Senior among others, have been well-received by fans and winning over new followers every day.

Cartel – The Lost Tracks

Presenting talented MC slash Producer...yep, here's one you missed. Seems like every MC out there has held this title, but few who make the jump from producer to MC actually have what it takes. But trust me, you'll be glad that Cartel's Lost Tracks didn't remain lost for good. One half of the duo making up Homegrown Records, this isn't Cartel's first foray into releasing an album. Prepare for Glory was his first release followed by this true underground hip hop gem, The Lost Tracks. Cartel certainly proves naysayers wrong, being a producer/MC is possible especially if you have talent like this guy.

Monk Turner’s Coordinates – Hello! Mr. Galactic Defender of the Concept Album

A concept album that slaps you hard about the reality. You've got to love Monk Turner for creativity and witty lyrics. He combines various music genres and creates tracks suited for any type of music listener. Equipped with tongue-in-cheek lyrics about everyday life and social events that people encounter throughout their lives. Of course, it won't be a concept album for nothing. Pretty much the entire album is all about songs at a particular location, like that "Dive Bar off Maine Street" or "The Hair Salon, " even "MJ's Grave." It's meant for you if you love to pay attention to the lyrics more than fuss over melody.
