Camp Z “Mental Straitjacket” – free punk/post punk/industrial album under Creative Commons

This album reminds me of Nine Inch Nails, less Trent Reznor vocals and more punk/post punk elements. Camp Z fuses together punk, post punk and industrial like a well-made milkshake. With Mental Straitjacket, the band has achieved a conundrum of noise industrial rock that takes the listener into the depths of his mind and forces him to stare at it right into the face. This is the band's latest album, counting back to their first release back in 2006. Camp Z is Manu Zorch, Dvrr, JP, and Mascozis creating music that conjures up visions of "a twisted oldfashioned echo."

Shatterhand: Shatterhand

Making alternative and pop rockers happy again by fusing elements of progressive rock, world music and alternative, Shatterhand is the brainchild of James Pink and Neil Mavor. With thubthumping drums, sweeping guitars reminiscent of a 70s guitar solo, and monotone vocals you would expect from an “alternative” band, Shatterhand doesn’t break boundaries. They do succeed, however, in covering the basics of what progressive and alternative music means.

Pequeńa Fiera! “Secrets with no words” – dreamy and hazy experimental art rock release

Another great release from the Error!Lo-Fi Records (Spain). Pequeńa Fiera! is a band that explores the border between lo-fi and experimental/art rock (vide Radiohead, Sigur Ros, etc.). What we got on Secrets with no words are 5 very dreamy and hazy tunes that take us somewhere very much behind the rainbow. If the band thought about the compositions a little bit thoroughly than it would definitely be a minor underground hit-band.

Sleep.Shy “Galápagos Inn” – unusual mix of sweetness and cynicism

Sleep.Shy’s Galapagos Inn is one of the more unusual online albums to come out of 2009. It is calm, witty and somewhat perplexing in its mix of sweetness and cynicism. The opening “I nowhere I am” is typical with its switch of upbeat rhythm to classical choir and piano then back. The track “On Why No. 2 Pencils Have Erasers” shows that this band has their hard rock side but when you least expect it…Mood change!

Hello Citizen “Play This At My Funeral” – an acoustic rock album produced by the great one man band

Ben Wolman has done it yet again! The one and only member of Hello Citizen produced another album that will push Rockers to their limit. “Play This At My Funeral” is Hello Citizen’s second amazing album, packed with jaw-dropping acoustic play and Indie Rock vocals that fits the mood of every listeners. It doesn’t matter if you are in your teens or in your mid-20’s and up, Hello Citizen knows how to mesmerize fans with his very awesome musical gift.

Mike Falzone & The Pepermint Trick “Do It For The Story” – Indie Pop, with a minty aftertaste promoted on FrostWire

Mike Falzone is back with a new band by his side and a new album entitled "Do It For The Story". Just as his previous release, "Fun with Honesty", this one is full of "infections lyrics, catchy melody, and humor". Guitar & drum heavy tracks dominate the album and Mike's engaging voice makes it a real pleasure to listen to. Licensed under Creative Commons, it's available as a free download via FrostWire and is meant to be widely shared with all family and friends!

9Lies “Behind It All” – Creative Commons licensed upbeat rock demo album

Calling out all rockers! Relive the era of 90's rock by listening to this modern day Indie Rock band called 9Lies – a great band with an interesting name. Their album, "Behind It All," was made available for digital download on July 23, 2007 and is licensed under Creative Commons. The album contains 3 demo songs that will surely make listeners rock like they never did before. The combination of strong 90’s beat and modern rock guitar riffs made this band stand out among the others. The familiarity of their sound is going to be their key to reach out to the old and new generation of rock lovers.

Inward Eye – 4 songs full of passion for high-voltage and rebellious rock style

Bring out those funky electric guitars and start the head bang, Inward Eye gives back to their fans through their debut EP. Inward Eye EP is all about rocking the house with a classic rock sound, which struck other musicians to the side. The EP consists of 4 hard rocking songs, “Shame,” “Blind Paranoia,” “You Know I Know,” and “Times They Aren’t Changing.” Inward Eye is composed of the Erickson brothers: Dave (vocals/bass), Kyle (guitar/vocals), and Anders (drums). Under the influence of several rock gods, they do know what it means to play the instruments and sing their powerful compositions enough to blow rock enthusiasts away.
