Flipboard is your virtual news magazine for the iOS and Android. Created by Flipboard Inc, the app allows you to create a custom magazine. From it you can browse tweets, get Facebook newsfeeds, YouTube videos and many more.

Once you install Flipboard, you’ll see boxes on the main page. To put contents on each box, just tap it. The Content Guide will appear showing you categories like Tech, Food & Design, Business, Arts and more. There are suggestions available for popular online news magazines, sports columnists’ tweets and more. Just tap the Add button to include it.

A content box can be opened by tapping. At the main page are the top story and a couple others. To read more, flip the pages. Stories can be shared in Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook. Flipboard is very efficient in offering contents that you probably won’t need to go to the actual sites. Aside from news, you get to see photos, friends’ status updates and update your own status. All of these are presented in a beautiful interface.

Content is updated on a regular basis. You’ll be able to see new content and images every time you open the app. There are nine boxes on the first screen and the second can hold a dozen. The app allows you to view contents in various ways. The web page can be displayed, or it can be an RSS feed or HTML 5-powered Flipboard Pages. The latter is for sites partnered with the company.

Flipboard also has a category for audio featuring TWiT, Slate Internet Radio and CMJ Network. Simply tap the + icon to add a feed.

123D Catch

123D Catch by Autodesk gives you the power to create 3D models of practically anything. Instead of sculpting or editing meshes, Catch takes a simpler approach. Simply take pictures of an object from various angles. Load these into the program and it will turn the images into a 3D object.

A video tutorial appears when you first start the app. You will then see some preloaded samples. The I symbol has four options: About, Help, Getting Started and Support. Before you take pictures, try the 3D samples first so you know how to move an object. You can pan, rotate and scale objects.

Clicking the New Capture Button will start a tutorial when you launch the app for the first time. Finish the tutorial. Take a picture by pressing the camera button. The app keeps track of how images you�ve taken. Press Finish Capture when you�re done.

The images will be sent to Autodesk�s servers where they will be transformed into 3D and then sent back to your iPad when modeling and rendering is complete. The time it takes depends on the number of photos you took.

This is really the app�s best feature. If you�re familiar with 3D software, you know how resource intensive the process can be. Rather than force your iPad to do the work, Autodesk servers will do it instead. Catch is free, but you must have an account of some sort. It can be an account in Google, Yahoo!, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.

123D Catch is part of the 123D family. The other apps include Sculpt, Make and 123D.

Sushipedia by Tokiolabs is your ultimate guide for all things related to sushi. Whether you are an avid fan of raw fish or someone who is about to try sushi for the first time, this app will be your reference guide. It has all the basic information about sushi and more.

Once you download and install the app, you can start browsing its contents. As you might expect from a high quality encyclopedia, it has all the popular variants like tobiko (flying-fish roe), Philadelphia roll (with cream cheese), hiramasa (yellowtail amberjack), akagai (red clam) and several hundred others that you probably never even heard of. Each of the more than 300 entries contains a full description plus other facts.

Another nice feature of Sushipedia is that you can search by ingredient, name, attributes, or by other features like whether it has cooked fish, is spicy, no fish, raw fish and so on. Even if you don�t know much about sushi, it can be a lot of fun just browsing through the list and learning about them. You can even find a list of seasonal fish.

The contents are arranged in English but you can also sort them in Japanese if you want. Overall, it�s a very easy app to use, and the color pictures give you an exact idea of what they look like. If you�ve been eating sushi for a while, you probably already know what they look like, but for a newbie, these make all the difference. The fact that you can search for the freshest fish for the current season is another plus.

Snapchat by Snapchat, Inc is an iPhone app that lets you send photos that will self destruct according to the time you specify. So if you want to send a photo that a recipient can view for say 6 seconds, set the timer to it. Send the picture and it will be visible on their device for 6 seconds before disappearing for good.

The app is very easy to use. When you first start it up, you will be prompted for a username and password for your account. As soon as your account is set up Snapchat will turn on your iPhone�s camera and you can take any photo you want.

The button in the center of the app is the shutter trigger and the icon next to it that resembles a 3D box lets you see the images that you sent out. On the right is a menu icon that lists your friends and other users of Snapchat. The menu icon also has links to the app�s Facebook and Twitter pages.

After taking a picture Snapchat will display the photo you took. Tapping the X icon will let you take more photos if you need to. The download icon allows you to see the image saved on your phone so all you need to do now is to press send.

You can use the Friends list on the menu to choose a recipient and a confirmation message will appear asking if you want to send the picture over to that recipient for x number of seconds. Next you will see the timer button and you can set it anywhere from 1 to 10 seconds before the picture you sent self destructs. Perfect for the night out on the town when you want to share some crazy photos with a friend but you dont want that friend to share it with everyone else.

After you download and install the game you have the option to get notifications from Ginger and whether to turn on Child or Regular Mode. It�s a good idea to turn the notifications on as you will get a free toothpaste. Once the game has been installed, you can teach Ginger potty training and don�t forget to give him a shower and then dry him off. You can talk to Ginger and you�ll hear him repeat your hellos in a cute small voice.

Teaching Ginger to brush his teeth isn�t that hard, but if you really want to keep things simple, turn on Child Mode. Remember, however, that you�re not limited to just caring for the kitten, though because the game has a bunch of extra features like videos, puzzles, many of which comes from other users.

One of the nice things about Ginger is that he mimics anything that he hears and it isn�t just limited to your voice, so don�t be surprised if you hear Ginger mimicking your keyboard and also make funny faces. In other words, Talking Ginger is a nice clean game for kids and the young at heart.

There are a ton of photo apps for the iPhone, but Mirrorgram by StageBloc Inc. is different from the rest. With Mirrorgram, you can add a mirror image to any object in the iPhone�s camera lens, but this isn�t just a simple mirroring trick as it can produce stunning kaleidoscope-like images. The app isn�t just free, but is also easy to use and you see what�s happening in real time.

To use, just press the M or gesture on the display, and you can make adjustments to the angles. After you have the image right, you can jazz it up by adding some special effects like black and white, blurring, a �grungy� look, high contrast and a lot more. By using one of these filters your image will be dramatically enhanced. There are other extra filters you can purchase, but the ones included in the app (which is compatible with the iPad) are more�than enough.

There are other nice features on the app, such as letting you adjust the focal point and angles even after snapping the photo, making it easy to make some adjustments. There are a lot of other interesting features bundled in, and you�ll have fun exploring the app. The fact that it is free means you don�t lose anything by trying it. Because it is so easy to use, you won�t have any problems experimenting with images.

Once you�re done editing the image, you can share it with your friends by exporting the file to Instagram where you can manipulate it even more. You can also add captions to the pictures and share it at StageBloc, Twitter or Facebook.

Banzai Blade by Cartoon Network is an action hack and slash game for the iOS. Demons have come to Earth and it�s up to you to stop them. What this means is you end up in level after level slashing and slicing demons. But there�s more to this game than just hack and slashing, as some of the bad guys can be hard to kill.

True some of the monsters only require a single swipe to finish off, but others need a lot more, and the dragons can only be killed by deflating the fireballs they breathe back, so that requires some strategizing and thinking. To make Banzai Blade even more interesting, you have to take out a lot of the enemies before they can inflict any damaged, so speed and reaction time is of the essence here.

All these challenges don�t take away the fun factor. Also the game has a lot of side missions that make it more interesting. These missions can be finished in-game, so there�s none of that repetitive feeling you get from other similar games. You can also shop for a new sword, and get blossoms when you take out a specified number of demons in a mission. You can exchange these blossoms for upgrades, items, armors, swords and other stuff you�ll need. And you will need them as some of the enemies can be tough.

Banzai Ninja isn�t just an exciting game but the graphics look great and the controls are pretty responsive. It won�t take long before you get the hang of Banzai Blade and once you do you will definitely enjoy playing it.

The Last Driver

The Last Driver is all about driving in a muscle car in an apocalyptic landscape, trying to rend off zombies, dinosaurs and a host of other terrors that has come up from the world. Created by Chillingo Ltd, you have no goal other than to survive. If you�re looking for a fun game that has plenty of action and speed, this is it.

As you drive through the landscape battling zombies, aliens and other creatures, you�ll have to accomplish other side missions along the way which increase in difficulty. Some of the most challenging ones will have you driving with a timer while trying to gather a specific amount of coins. While they don�t advance the storyline in Last Driver, the missions are a lot of fun and add another dimension to the game.

Apart from the gorgeous graphics all the levels are randomly generated and they dynamically change. As you drive you�ll see UFOs and dinosaurs smashing buildings and so on. As you see the buildings collapse, you can use them as ramps for you to cross, but you also need to avoid obstacles as you drive along.

The game isn�t complicated and that�s just right. Rather than figure out some difficult strategy, you just need to run over those zombies and make sure the T Rex doesn�t catch up to you.

Last Driver has been called a driving game, but that�s not entirely accurate as you can�t move away from the path, so it�s more like an endless runner. Call it what you will, it�s really a lot of fun and exhilarating, and it�s free too.

Temple Run 2

Temple Run 2 is the sequel to the smash hit Temple Run, and this time publisher Imangi Studios has upped the ante. The game now has better graphics, a whole bunch of power ups, new obstacles and enemies that make for an exhilarating gaming experience.

Just like the original game, you use the swipe controls to jump, turn and run and explore the environment. But in Temple Run 2 you are not restricted to making right angle turns. Also, the settings are more varied and you will see jogs, rises and dips as well as use zip line for speedy navigation. You can also get on a mine cart and blaze through the underground at breakneck speed.

Not only is the game more thrilling but the graphics have been overhauled. Even if you are moving at a fast clip trying to stay alive, it is impossible not to take notice of the visuals, particularly the fires and other obstacles that stand in your way.

The game has four characters that you can play and they each have their own special skills. Plus you can get power ups to boost their power even more. Among the most interesting are those is the shield that turns you invisible and a coin sucking magnet.

If you enjoyed the original Temple Run you will definitely get a kick out of this one. If you�re into action / adventure or running games, you will also love this one, The high end graphics, great sound and exciting gameplay leave simply shows why this is one of the most popular games on the iOS and Android today.
