Shareit

Shareit from Lenovo Shareit Technologies is a file sharing app, and while it’s not the first and won’t be the last, this is one of the most popular owing to its reliability. Sending files over the web can be slow at times, and that’s not even taking into account the device incompatibility problems. With this app, sharing between different smartphones and desktop PCs is made easy.

Krita

Krita is an image editing application, but before you dismiss this as just another GIMP knockoff, it isn’t. While it has all the basic tools you’d expect, it also comes with several features that make image manipulation and photo editing easier such as multiple masks per layer, color history, clone layers and more.

Duplicati

Duplicati is a free backup program that does backups in remote file servers and cloud storage devices. You can use this program to store compressed and encrypted files on Google Drive, OneDrive and other cloud storage devices. It's very easy to use, and takes away the drudgery that comes with backing up files.

gnuplot

Gnuplot is an open source command line graphing utility developed by Philipp K. Janert that allows students, scientists and researchers to create data and math formulas in an interactive manner. This cross platform program can also be used by third party programs and it has some web scripting support too.

Perfect Effects 9

Perfect Effects 9 from On One Software is an image editor that you can also use to work with Photoshop, Lightroom or Aperture. The program is free to download, but you’ll need online access to activate the first time you use it. Once you’ve filled up the simple form, you can download the program, and there’s a lot of good stuff here.
