Teleport is a system utility that when installed, allows you to control your Mac computers with your mouse and keyboard. Created by Abysoft, this can be a very useful utility if you have several Macs and need to perform certain management tasks.

With Teleport, controlling multiple Mac computers is very easy. When you reach the edge of your computer screen, the mouse you are using ends up being “teleported” to your other Mac. In addition, you can sync the pasteboard between your Macs, and if you go to the Preferences Pane you will be able to set up and choose which hosts you want to handle. You can also use it to graphically arrange the monitors, and once that is done you are ready to go.

Anytime you want to control your other Mac, just reach out to the edge of your screen where the slave host is linked to, and that’s it; you are now controlling it. Aside from the mouse, you can also use your keyboard to control the other computer.

At the master computer, you will see a notification that indicates the placement of your cursor. If you want to resume control of your master computer, simply drag your mouse back to where it once was. In short, Teleport is a very easy program to use.

This isn’t a utility that you will use every day, but it is nice to have one like this around. It is very easy to use and setting up is a breeze as well, so if you have several Macs, this is a handy tool keep around.

The same procedure applies if you want to post a picture on Facebook. You can do the same with Google, Gmail, Excel, PDF, Word, Outlook, Evernote, Google Translate and so on. Click.to can be used for email attachments. Sometimes we forget where our attachments are. This app ensures that won’t happen. If you bump into a foreign word, just click to Google Translate. You can do the same with Amazon and EBay if you want to shop.

The possibilities are endless. Click.to can be used for a lot of different applications. Aside from the apps mentioned, others included are Flickr, Google Maps, Simplenote, and Blogger. Any new element you work with can be added easily. In other words, there is no limit to its expandability.
Click.to app is only 1 MB. Once installed, it is integrated into your system. It is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP and the Mac.

UltraDefrag doesn’t have a flashy interface, but it is effective as far as free defraggers go. It was created by the UltraDefrag development team as an open source alternative to other commercial defragging utilities. The default interface is graphical, but there is a command line option.

This utility is available in 32 and 64 bit versions, so choose the right one for your system. You can run it as Windows boots up or you can just set up a schedule so it runs on a specific time. UltraDefrag is very simple to use. Launch the program and choose the drive you want to defrag, analyze or optimize. The defrag option is self explanatory. The Analyze option displays a graphic sector table. It shows where on the hard disk your files are.

Once the analysis is complete, the utility will generate a report telling you how fragmented the files on the drive are. When you use the optimize option, UltraDefrag arranges the files so the most frequently used become easier to access. You will notice the difference after defragging; frequently used software will load faster. Windows will load quicker too.

UltraDefrag doesn’t just reorganize files; free space is consolidated. The current version supports NTFS, exFAT and FAT. You can do the localization or have one of the language packages do it. The full drive optimization will process all the files in your hard drive. There is a quick optimization option. It will only defrag files that are fragmented.

UltraDefrag generates reports after each defragmentation, analysis or optimization. The report will indicate which files are fragmented. Reports can be plain text or HTML. The plain text repots are useful if your system doesn’t have any browsers installed.

The archiving screen pops open when you drop a file there. All the basic functions are labeled clearly so new users will have no trouble using the program. File browse tools and function buttons make it a snap to add folders and files.

You can make archives easily because the default settings are designed to make the process simple. But experts can tweak the settings using several options. Every tab is designed consistently; there is encryption, dictionaries, methods, set compression levels, text buttons and radio buttons. Casual users probably won’t tinker with these settings, but the options are there.

Sophisticated users will appreciate its wide range of file format support. PeaZip can extract over 150 archive formats including ZIPX, UDF, RAR, ISO, LHA, DMG, CAB, ARJ and ACE. OpenSource technologies like ZIP, WIM, XZ, TAR and many more are supported.

Numerous tools make it easy to perform archive management tasks such as finding duplicate files, hash calculation, viewing thumbnails and converting archives. PeaZip even has secure deletion, an encrypted password manager, two factor authentication and more. What really sets the software apart is the way it works. The extraction/compression interface has more in common with a traditional file compressor.

PeaZip is designed for Windows NT/98/Me/2000/XP/2003/Vista/Server 2008/7/8. If you want an archiving utility that goes beyond the basics, this is the one.

The image can be saved locally after you are done editing. The URL can be shared with friends or coworkers. This is a nifty tool that helps with collaborative works. Everything is done inside your browser, so there’s no need to launch other applications.

Awesome Screenshot can capture any visible area/region. You have the option of saving an entire image. Captured areas can be cropped, with specific dimensions indicated. It takes just one click to upload a captured area. Links can be shared on Twitter and Facebook.

Awesome Screenshot is designed for a simple task, but it does the job well. It has more functionality than similar utilities. It doesn’t take up a lot of resources and runs unobtrusively. As stated, its numerous functions work great in projects that require collaboration. But even casual web users will find applications for it.

Together with the iOS, Android is one of the best and the most powerful smartphone ecosystems out there and a highly capable optimizer would surely be a great addition. Here enters Android Booster. This is a do-it-all app with all the nitty-gritty under-the-hood for maximum functionality on any Droid device.

Created by NQ Mobile (NetQin Mobile Inc.), this developer has quite a big list of productivity apps under their belt, so they definitely know what they are offering with our today’s little treat.

Developers of the app are trying to maximize the entire Android output by increasing the overall speed, monitoring data usage and background apps, and saving crucial battery life. The app does provide quite a jump in Android’s performance within seconds of installing the app. The most effective part of the app would be its user-interface; slick and simple to say the least.

On the features front, this app is loaded to the gills with even the most power-hungry advanced user will get confused fiddling with. Memory Booster helps a great deal by increasing the free memory and the overall Android OS speed. Task Killer is nothing very unusual as the higher-end Android beasts integrate it with a more fluid approach.

Something that comes as a sure breezer is the Battery Power Monitor that keeps a track of apps using up the maximum battery space, while giving tips on reducing power consumption considerably. Traffic Monitor will do a world of good to heavy travelers as this keep a real-time check on Wi-Fi/mobile data network send/receive info. This in turn greatly avoids over usage charges.

Overall, the app is very fluid with minute details being integrated without any issues. The higher-end Android Super-phones will not need much of this as all this comes pre-loaded within the device system services. Though, the more advanced users, who would want to feel more in control will just love the functionality this app has to offer.

EULAlyzer by BrightSoft is a program that analyzes the contents of the EULA (end user license agreement). If you don’t know what the EULA is, it’s that long agreement that a software requires you to accept before proceeding with the installation. Most people just click yes without reading it.

That is understandable because those EULAs are full of legal, unintelligible words. But that’s a mistake because you have no idea what you agree to. What EULAlyzer does is scan this long document. It will flag phrases, statements and words that are important.

The interface is basic but workable with lots of explanatory texts. The main feature is the Analyze menu. You can just drag the icon over a license agreement window or simply paste a EULA. The program uses a ratings system to check suspicious words. Its 1 to 10 scale shows you how potentially risky the information contained there is.

If you download a lot of programs on the Net, EULAlyzer will be able to determine if the software has adware. It will also see if the app is going to install any additional software and bundle unwanted extras. EULAlyzer can actually spot the URLs and names of any software that the program you downloaded is trying to install. It also keeps track of everything with its built-in stats.

EULAlyzer is no substitute for not reading the end user license agreement. In fact it does the opposite. By showing you a list of suspicious looking words or terms, you will pay more close attention to it. The program runs on Windows 7, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows 8, Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows Server 2008.

Android users might have the best mobile-computing tool in their hands with the latest ‘Superphone’, but what really takes away the excitement is the below par battery life. Heavy-duty users and hardcore gamers feel let down with the ever decreasing battery backup, so here we present a perfect solution for the demanding battery needs.

Developed by LateDroid, JuiceDefender is a perfect solution for saving battery from dying at the most crucial point. The app works very well and most are more than just happy.

The developer claims the app reclaims the battery and extends the backup considerably, well, the test results just nail the statement bang-on. JuiceDefender has very fine power management integrated within the main-frame of the app and this makes it a very successful power saving manager.

So, basically, JuiceDefender keeps a close watch on all the power-hungry resources, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, active background applications, GPS and the likes. So, the app senses the battery percentage and according takes action on power-saving depending on the power saving profile that is activated.

There are 5 profiles available in the app, namely Balanced (default), Aggressive, Extreme, Customize and Advanced; though, Extreme, Customize and advanced can be unlocked via the purchase of JuiceDefender Plus or JuiceDefender Ultimate. The app automatically switches between 3G and 2G data network for optimal battery performance.

The main highlighted features of the app are home screen battery widget, automatic data toggle, enable Wi-Fi only at home and disable outside, CPU scaling while idling, smart brightness control and a comprehensive connectivity schedule. Even the user-interface of the app is great with a full black theme which looks really sick. The app is also quite user-friendly and does not take much time getting about the functions.

Overall, the app is very efficient and does the job well. Users will particularly love JuiceDefender as it does not hog power in the background, but does what it says. Moreover, the widgets help in quick access and detail tracking of the resource management. To quote results, JuiceDefender was tried on a Samsung Galaxy SII which had a battery back-up of 17 hours prior to installation. After installing JuiceDefender, the battery backup jumped to a whooping one-and-a-half days with the same usage pattern.

Android is one of the leading smartphone platforms out there, and the ever-growing App Market just leaves the user spoilt with choices. Apps ranging from casual-free games to hardcore 3D console action, and utility apps that make life a whole-lot easier.

With all this choice, however, there is a big drawback – and that is the storage-space. All the apps, once installed, get saved in the phone memory and not on the expandable one, taking up to much space off the already limited phone storage. Here comes in the life-savior (memory-savior), App 2 SD.

App 2 SD is very efficient in what it does. Previously users needed to check whether an app supports SD card storage, but now with App 2 SD, the app automatically moves the application to the SD card without any user-interference. Memory management issue is very streamlined with this app, and it is a must have for any Android user facing memory management issues.

When the app is first fired-up there are three tabs on the screen in which the apps are segregated. 1) On Phone, 2) On SD card, and 3) Phone Only. The task is quite simple, all apps that can be moved to the SD card appear under the On Phone tab. A user needs only to mark the given app, click on the option “Move to SD card” and Volia! its done. To move the app back to the phone, the same procedure is followed.

App 2 SD does not create much fuss with the UI either. Its neat, clean, uncluttered and simple to use. The app shows the total and available space on the Phone internal memory, as well as on the SD card. There is also an added functionality of 1-tap clear all app cache, a neat feature to keep the device memory uncluttered.

App 2 SD is available in two versions, a free one and a paid-version. The paid version does nothing great, but just terminates the in-app advertisements and costs $1.69. The biggest selling-point for App 2 SD lies in the fact, that there is no competitor or related app to it.

Android Tablets which are running Android 3.0 do not support App 2 SD; also there is known functionality problem with HTC Thunderbolt not updated to Android OS 2.3.4.

Android have certainly become one of the most powerful OS out there and to add to its existing capabilities it comes filled with a ton of system files for various downloads, DRIM files, Cache memory etc. So if you want to do justice to all of them make sure to download a capable File Manger.

Created by Rhythm Software, this developer is heavily into Android utility apps and after testing almost all of their apps I have to say that all performed really well.

This File Manager is a full fledged manager with a fresh revamped user-interface, user-friendly look, and functionality. Newbies will love all the icons; there are over 60+ different file types with their very own 3 commercial set of icons and toolbars. Moreover, the whole UI of the app can be configured according to the users choice and there are a plethora of options to suit every individual’s need.

I tested this app on a Samsung Galaxy S II and after fiddling around a bit, it was File Manager that was my call of the day. Galaxy S II already houses a very capable File manager, but this app is just a class apart. The functionality that really works like a charm can not be even compared. So, users can compress their files on the go and shoot an email without breaking a sweat.

The app supports for media streaming via LAN without any downloads. Also, there is support for both local and remote (LAN/SMB) file systems. The better news for advanced users running rooted device is that the app supports Root Explorer for those devices. Functionality at its best.

Overall, the app is great and works like a charm. No lag, no hassles, no bugs, it is the perfect companion for advanced users who know what tinkering with device files is all about. So for all Android users, this File Manager should be featured in your app drawer without a doubt.
