They've been around for some time and have released quite a handful of titles under their name. Specializing in short art games, the company is well-known for its beautiful graphics and quirky themes. Ruins is no exception to this. With a stunning game setting and an unconventional gameplay, it's definitely worth your time.

Now a word of warning, the game deals more with ideas, and oftentimes you'll simply find yourself discussing or thinking. There's no big boss fight or exciting surprises in the game, instead you'll be playing a dog who chases rabbits. And once you finally catch up to them, you actually just talk and listen to what they have to say.

This may sound utterly boring but it's surprisingly entertaining. The dialogue or conversations that take place are very engaging and how you respond in the conversations serve as a crucial point in the game. It's essentially what ties the whole storyline together.

Capturing the whole story by playing the game just once though is impossible. It takes multiple plays before you can get the entire picture since certain options/answers will yield only one piece of the puzzle. However, that's the beauty of it. It's the race of finding out the real score that will make you want to play the game again and again. Plus, the stunning landscape and the dreamy musical score is also another reason why you might want to keep coming back to this.

Overall, if you want to try something new and just play a very unconventional game, then you're in for a treat in Ruins. Give this a go. The game is available as a free download.

Hailed as the next "Angry Birds," A Monster Ate My Homework is an addictive physics game that's charming and tons of fun to play. It's similar to those games you used to play at the carnival where you would knock down stacks of bottles by throwing a ball at it.

The only difference is that you get to play this at the comfort of your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Add to the mix colorful graphics, angry looking blocks and a really fun gameplay and you have yourself a winner. The game features 80 unique levels and an amazing 3D environment where you can easily throw the ball from any angle. 

As you know, the game premise is simple. Simply knock off the stack of blocks from the platform by throwing balls at them. There's one tricky aspect though, along with the blocks, your school books are piled in stacks as well. You must make sure that none of your school books fall into the water otherwise it's game over.

One of the most alluring things about this game is that it's so simple to play yet tough to master. You'll find yourself trying again and again, especially if physics wasn't something you were keen on back in school. As you progress through the levels, various obstacles will start appearing. These new obstacles can either work for you or against you so you have to be extra careful on where you throw the ball.

If you really look at it, the game gets so many things right; the mechanics are simple, the graphics are superb; the controls and execution is admirable. The social aspect is missing but personally, I don't really mind. I think it's still a great game whether played by yourself or with other people. Try it out and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Developed by iTankster, the game is currently available as a free download over at the App Store. Thanks to its colorful graphics and fun yet challenging gameplay, you're guaranteed to keep playing this game for hours on end.

The game starts off all nice and dandy. The Tiny Ball is part of a happy crew in a ship when out of nowhere, the Evil Devil shows up and kicks him off the boat. Now, he has to defeat the Evil Devil by shooting a cannon and knock him off a set of boxes and onto the floor.

Like most games, the first time you open up the game you're given a mini tutorial. The game relies on physics and strategy in knocking over the Evil Devil from the stack of boxes. Some levels are pretty straightforward, requiring only one ball to shoot at the enemy while other levels would need several attempts before hitting the target. There's over 80 levels you can play in the game, plus 20+ unlockables.

Overall, the game is pretty addictive. Graphics are amazing while controls are pretty easy: simply tap, aim and fire. With Openfeint and Gamesupport options, you can even invite and challenge your friends for a quick game. Give it a download.

If you hate figuring out games, then stay clear from Youdunnit. This is perhaps one of the most confusing indie games out there. However, if you are up for a little challenge and don't mind taking a Tylenol or two, this game would be right up your alley.

The game was created under 48 hours so don't expect it to be perfect. In fact, it's this confusing gameplay and headache inducing storyline that makes the game quite intriguing. It was created as an entry for the Global Jam Games and since then has gained notoriety among indie gamers as a weird yet must-try murder "mystery" game.

The story is all told in the title. There's a murder that happened and everyone wants to know who did it. Of course, you are the killer but you have to keep your story straight throughout the investigation to ensure that you won't get caught. This is where it becomes tricky since the detective will be asking things that you wouldn't expect. It's important to always be on your toes and to definitely get your entire story straightened out.

You have to make sure that the detective doesn't discover any inconsistencies in your story. At the same time, you have to prevent everyone else in the room from establishing a clear alibi otherwise the fingers will be pointing at you.

As for the gameplay, it's best explained by a dude named, James in his blog. He writes:  The game is played in a series of levels that go progressively farther back in time. At each point you have to commit actions that implicate one of the other suspects. What makes this difficult is that while you do this, you have to interact with other people and things and, in order to preserve causality (your lie), you must remember what you did in the future so you can take the appropriate steps in the past.

It's actually a very cool gameplay if you really think about it. It's just extremely difficult and confusing once you actually play it. So, if you're up for a real challenge, download this one and see if you can keep yourself from getting caught.

Playing FallOver! for the first time might seem as if the game is broken. The game is basically your typical Mario-esque platformer with a little twist - it has weird game physics.

Instead of the typical run, jump, walk affair, your little character has trouble keeping his two feet firmly planted on the ground. He has to walk with tons of coins in his pocket when he collects them so he constantly topples and "falls over." This little twist is definitely enough to set apart the game from all other typical platformers. It's a bit short but otherwise pretty fun to play.

Giving the game a first go can be a bit frustrating. You'll need to adjust to your unbalanced protagonist and how he often falls flat on his face or ends up head-butting a platform whenever he walks. However, once you manage to adjust to the physics, the game becomes quite enjoyable to play.

There are 8 levels that you must go through. At the very end of each level, there's a flag that you need to reach so you can proceed to the next stage. As you play through the stage, it's important that your little British guy doesn't fall on his face more than three times, otherwise you're going to have to restart the level. You'll also need to collect coins as you trudge along. This will help you earn points.

Controls are typical; arrow keys are used for the movement. If you want to jump, press S. If you want to get up after falling down, press A and then press R if you would like to restart the level.

Overall, the game is pretty cool and certainly different.

By The Power of Money is not exactly a game, per se, but more of an economic exercise. This interesting 2D platformer is different but surprisingly fun as well. It's a bit challenging and takes time to get used to. However, ultimately, once you get a handle of the gameplay and the rules, it's quite entertaining.

In the game, your goal is to rebuild a stage as you play. You'll need to buy and lay down blocks, each one having its own unique property, but you need to do all this within your budget. The game is not just enjoyable but also tests your budgeting skills.

The game lets you start off with 5000 credits. For every block you buy or lay down, your credits will be deducted. While playing the game, you won't be allowed to substitute current blocks with one that's been sitting in your inventory. Also you are allowed to use just five types of blocks available from any particular level.

There are also guidelines for when you can actually use each block. For instance, only one green block can be used at any one time. Brown blocks are quite cheaper and they work great for creating platforms or bridges. Meanwhile, the white blocks are temporary. Those that have a number stamped on them indicate how long they will last before they disappear or vanish. Orange ones have the capacity to change directions every time they hit or bump into something while the purple blocks actually start moving in the direction that their arrows are facing.

The game is pretty much non-competitive, it's perfect for those who like unusual games and the satisfaction of achieving something.

Death Worm is considered one of the classics. It's a quirky little freeware that's absolutely fun to play. If you remember Kevin Bacon running away from these giant worm-like creatures in Tremors, and you actually enjoyed it; then here's your chance to play the worm instead.

The game lets you play as the invertebrate who has quite a big appetite. You can eat soldiers, surprise or fling around elephants and simply enjoy amazing chaos using your little big worm.

Like most sand worms, this one is a pretty angry one. All he wants to do is eat and eat. Hence, you have to eat the horses, eat the elephants and even eat the people. Of course, they won't take it standing. People will shoot and fight for their property so you have to be a bit careful.

Some of them will be fighting back using land mines or electro shocks. However, the longer the battle ensues, the more the townspeople will realize they need to bring in the big guns to defeat you. Pretty soon, you'll be dodging bullets from high powered rifles and avoiding bomb blasts from overhead. Hence, it's important to anticipate the worst from the people you are fighting against.

Controls for the game are typical. You can maneuver your worm around by using the arrow keys. Come to think of it, the game is like a more graphic version of Snake. You know, that mobile game that usually comes free in your old phone? It's just like that, along with several upgrades.

There are a couple of tricks you need to learn as well. For one, you need to learn how to launch yourself in the air since there are times when you will have an enemy that's flying.  The more combos you can make while making your worm "fly," the higher your score.

Overall, the game is pretty interesting. The graphics are simple. There's absolutely nothing fancy here except for the fact that it's plenty of fun to play.

Dear Esther is not your typical game. There's absolutely no gunfight, no puzzles to solve and no princess to rescue, but this creepy Source Mod has definitely captured the attention of more than a few gamers out there.

Released back in 2008, the game features a unique take on first person gameplay. The game is a bit tough to discuss since it showcases a fragmented plot and no real, or actual gameplay happening. You simply have to follow along and see where the game takes you.

The game was created as part of a research project by Dan Pinchbeck from the University of Plymouth in the UK. Dear Esther has won critical acclaim ever since it was released. It incorporates beautiful graphics and an interesting gameplay that most players might not have encountered before.

Focusing mainly on exploration, players are guided by a narrator who only shows up whenever a player reaches a specific location. These narrations are given at a random so there's really no sense of coherency to them. Because of this, the player is forced to come up with his own answers; allowing them to be subjective and to engage in a psychological dialogue with the game.

Dear Esther also features a very appropriate soundtrack created especially for the game by Jessica Curry. If you are up for a new experience in gameplay, then this is the game to try out. For an hour or two, forget and drop all notions of what a game should be and shouldn't be and simply explore the unknown.

If you are looking for a nice little puzzle platformer to pass the time, then Glum Buster is your best bet. The game is rather odd but its oddity is what makes it interesting in the first place. The weird thing is that there's hardly any explanation or instructions given in the game. Hence, players are forced to experiment and explore the various areas surrounding them.

Glum Buster was created by Cosmind and took four years in the making using the Game Maker machine - it seems quite worth it. Glum Buster is a rather unusual platformer, but it's gameplay is simply fun and quite enjoyable.

The entire game relies on heavy exploration and puzzle solving. Some of the puzzles are quite easy to figure out while others will give you more than your fair share of headaches. As for the storyline, it's quite different as well. One minute you start off in a rainy street and next thing you know, you are on your way to a completely different world. It's rather bizarre and don't count on an explanation because there's none.

The game controls run from the basic arrow keys to using the mouse buttons (left or right, sometimes both) depending on your needs. The left button shoots a red fire thing at any target you want while the right button acts like a magnet, attracting certain objects towards you.

The puzzles are sometimes simple but there are also times when it can become testy. With the lack of game hints or even a sensible idea about where to go, hard puzzles can easily become annoying. You'd be stuck in that level not knowing what to do or where to find the solutions.

It's weirdness is also its appeal, hence, it's definitely a game worth trying; whether you figure out what to do or not.

SuteF is a complicated and challenging puzzle platformer that will truly delight your senses. It's a cool game where you will need to shove around boxes, avoid laser beams, scale walls and activate switches.  Your main goal for doing this would be escape from the "Abyss."

This game is actually an updated version of an eerie, but interesting game called Fetus. Of course, suteF is more advanced and fleshed out. It contains new mechanics that will intrigue and challenge both old and new gamers alike.

Each puzzle is creatively done, plus the entire game resonates with a semi dark atmosphere without going overboard. This one easily takes the cake as among the best puzzle games of 2010.

Basically, the game lets you control a blue character that's trying to get away from a nightmarish land that's known as the Abyss. Your main goal is to lead your character towards the exit out of every room. However, you will need to figure out very interesting, not to mention, brain-twisting puzzles. You'll also encounter countless weird creatures.

Created in 8-bit, the game combines simple graphics with a really fun gameplay. The variety in controls also makes the game even more appealing. On the one hand, you have your typical one button push controls. For instance, you press the Z key to perform a jump and press X to activate your grappling hook. You'll need the hook to drag boxes in place to prevent laser beams from hitting you. Even though this might sound a bit boring, it's a different feel once you start playing the game.

The best part is that the game is available for free download. Game time is roughly two hours so you can easily play this on your break or if you have some spare time during your day.
