Even though Harry Potter has officially ended, its legacy still lives on. Just take a look at the countless merchandise and spin-offs that remain. Speaking of spin-offs, Warthogs is one of the many tribute/parody games celebrating the story of the young boy wizard.

The game was created by Crystal Shard and is a few years old but trust me, every second is still worth playing. In it, you play as Larry Lotter, a slacker who’s about to take his final exam. The only problem is that Larry spent the entire night partying and is now late for class.

Warthogs combines sarcasm with innovative gameplay and great graphics to bring you an exciting, almost offensive Harry Potter parody you’ll certainly enjoy.

Instead of a hero, Warthogs lets you play as a semi-delinquent/alcoholic wizard who is not very keen in studying. As a result, he ends up missing an important exam. However, his luck is about to change. After encountering a mysterious presence, Larry finds himself to have the power to turn back time, giving him another shot at taking his exams and actually passing. Of course, the game won’t be complete without his best buddies, Rob Greasley and Calliope DeRanger. Even Professor Mumbledore makes an appearance in this funny parody.

The game features really nice graphics, similar to what you would expect big name studios like LucasArts might come up with. There’s also an added realism to the game by having the rest of the characters interact and talk to each other while you go about your business. Controls are very simple and the overall story is very entertaining.

Since its release last 2006, the game is still gaining new followers everyday. It’s been translated to several different languages including Hungarian; great proof of the allure of the drunkard boy wizard. Give the game a try.

If you're a big fan of Jack Bauer and his exploits, then you might want to try out 15 Minutes. This cool game is a humorous take on the hit action TV show, 24.

The game was created by Tim Hengeveld, an animator, storyteller, game developer and artist all in one. It was created especially for the MAGS monthly AGS competition. The competition is open to all amateur game developers. Participants have to create a game under one month and following the rules set by the previous winner of the competition.

Even though the game is a bit short, it's certainly entertaining and lots of fun. Check it out.

If you are a big fan of Jack Bauer and his exploits, then you might want to try out 15 Minutes, a humorous take on the hit action TV show 24.

The game was created by Tim Hengeveld, an animator, storyteller, game developer and artist all in one. It was created especially for the MAGS monthly AGS competition. The competition is open to all amateur game developers ready to undertake a special challenge of creating a game under one month, all while following the rules set by the previous winner of the competition.

In the game, you play a primary government agent who receives information of a bomb set to go off at a local coffee shop. Of course, you’re tasked to take care of it by finding and diffusing the bomb in 15 minutes.

Playing the entire game is quite fun. The dialog is great and funny so you’ll have plenty of laughs as you go along. Graphics are also very good. It’s done in a similar way as 24, where you get two comic book style panels at the same time. It is certainly a fast-paced and witty game that you’ll enjoy.

Go ahead and see what it’s like to play “Jack Brewer” and save the city from potential destruction. Grab the download by hitting the download link. The best part is that the game is absolutely free.

I Wanna Be The Guy or better known as IWBTG is not exactly a simple love story. Well, it is about a dude going on an adventure in order to become THE guy. It doesn't stop there, I'll tell you off the bat that it is extremely difficult. However, if you are a glutton for punishment and love being pushed around into complicated, near impossible feats; you'll probably hold this game close to your heart.

Another thing to note is that if you are a hardcore NES or SNES fan, you'll be grinning from ear to ear when playing this game. IWBTG combines modded levels of your favorite NES games like Megaman, Battletoads and even Contra; creating a one-of-a-kind, hair-pulling experience.

Definitely a hardcore game worth checking out whether you loved Nintendo or not.

I Wanna Be The Guy or better known as IWBTG is not exactly a simple love story. Well, it is about a dude going on an adventure in order to become THE guy. It doesn’t stop there, I’ll tell you off the bat that it is extremely difficult. However, if you are a glutton for punishment and love being pushed around into complicated, near impossible feats, you’ll probably hold this game close to your heart.

Another thing to note is that if you are a hardcore NES or SNES fan, you’ll be grinning from ear to ear when playing this game. IWBTG combines modded levels of your favorite NES games like Megaman, Battletoads and even Contra; creating a one-of-a-kind, hair-pulling experience.

Definitely a hardcore game worth checking out whether you loved Nintendo or not.

IWBTG definitely takes the words “tribute” to heart as it recreates various iconic levels from various games. The attention to detail is amazing, even the soundtrack is the same. However, like most games from the era, the level design is extremely difficult. If you feel that every single level was designed to kill off your character, well, you’re right. It won’t be unusual for you to go keyboard bashing once in awhile whenever you play this game. The good thing though is that the game is quite funny. It’ll be a mixture of laughter and tears of frustration but it’s definitely worth it.

The game was originally created back in 2007 by Michael “Kayin” O’Reilly. Currently, it’s no longer being developed but it looks and works great as it is. In fact, you get two options when it comes to downloading the game, the “Slo Mo” version or the “Frame Skip” version. The former slows down the action whenever your CPU is taxed because of the game while the other simply skips frames if the CPU can’t handle it. The latter is perfect for speedy computers.

In the end, anybody who loves Nintendo should certainly give this game a try. Sure, you might get frustrated and end up spewing profanity once in awhile, but you’ll definitely laugh out loud and have a great time as well. Besides, it couldn’t hurt to try, can it?

Nezumiman is a parody/tribute to the NES game, Mega Man. This cool 2d shooter platformer lets you play as a rat that can do almost anything Megaman can do (including the infamous sliding maneuver that became prominent since Mega Man 3.)

The game is quite simple to play unlike Mega Man, but it is fun. Your goal is to defeat the evil, Dr. Gyoniku and a his gang of evil rat-like creatures. There are 8 levels in total and you have to beat every single boss in the level to advance.

Almost every single aspect is similar to the blue robot series, the only marked difference is the graphics and instead of fighting big bad weird robots, you just fight off weird animals. Pretty cool game that's worth your time.

Pretty cool game that’s worth your time. Nezumiman (rat-man) features very sweet, candy-like graphics that’s easy on the eyes. The background is pretty colorful and the sound suits the game well.

As mentioned, instead of a blue robot with powerful weapons, you fight off as a rat that has almost all of Megaman’s abilities; running, sliding, jumping, shooting stuff snowballs (?) from his arm, you name it. On your way, you have to collect cheese and energy balls to help boost your energy. Also, for every time you beat a boss, you gain a cool new ability.

To make it more interesting, there are hidden chapters that you can unlock once you’ve finished the entire game. It’s not tough to beat the game, in fact, you can probably finish the entire thing in an hour of two depending on your skills. There’s a save feature as well if you don’t feel like playing in one go.

Nezumiman is only available for Windows as of the moment. Nevertheless, it’s a pretty fun and engaging game. It adds all the right elements in one super cute game.
