Black Lodge is the much talked about videogame homage to the wildly popular Lynchian cult classic, Twin Peaks. If you’re a fan of the series, you should be all over this game. It’s a beautiful piece that essentially captures the craziness, mystery and magnetic storyline of the original tv show.

The game was created by Jak Lodge and features all the goodness the original storyline has to offer plus a bit more. With amazing Atari 2600 style, the game is playable for both Mac and PC. It also comes with a manual that the developer encourages you to read first before starting.

The game places you in the shoes of special agent, Dale Cooper. The story line picks up close to the final season tv show arc where Cooper has found himself trapped inside the Black Lodge; a mystical realm where both Heaven and Hell meet. You’re currently stuck and need to find an exit by exploring one room after another. To make it more interesting, you have your doppelganger hounding you as you try to find your way out.

Along with the crazy storyline, the gameplay is quite difficult to finish. However, the developer promises some exciting Easter egg once you do reach 5000 points. Of course, even solving the actual puzzle by then will still make you want to pull your hair.

If you’re looking for a chance to satisfy your love for Twin Peaks apart from watching reruns off the net, then this is a great game to check out.

Fract is Myst-like game where you are immersed in this wonderful Tron inspired world. You solve puzzles and explore this glorious colorful world. The game consists of point and click controls making it quite interesting and unique.

The game was developed by Richard Flanagan and among the finalists for the 2011 IGF Student Showcase Finalist. Fract is done entirely in 3D and features a really atmospheric world that takes away the player and immerses him into it.

Currently, the updated beta version of the game runs on both PC and Mac systems so it’s much easier for various games to enjoy. Give it a go by clicking the image or download link. Fract is actually first person puzzle game where your goal is to unlock a musical machinery and get it up and running again. When first entering the landscape, you are greeted with a puzzle to solve. Once you finish this, you are left to enter and explore this immense landscape of colorful polygonal objects. Finding the first few controls can become tedious and frustrating at first since players are left with no clues where to go next. However, the game does try and make up for it by providing interesting graphics.

All of it is done in 3D, so be prepared to be blown away by interesting colors and effects. Oftentimes, it becomes quite eerie and makes you feel as if you’re swallowed whole by a world filled with boxy objects and electronic sounds. Moreover, since you’ll be solving to get an electronic machine up and running, headphones are necessary in order for you to enjoy the game. The game world that Flanagan has created is definitely unique and leaves a lot of eye candy to take in.

As for gameplay, the puzzles are not too complicated. In fact, they are quite easy to solve. However, since it’s still in its beta stages, there’s no option to save the game. Players will need to be a little patient in finishing the game at one go.

Even though it is weird and unusual, the game is definitely worth trying out.

Tap Tap Radiation is a free iPad game that will get you tapping on your free time. The game is much like Dance Revolution only this time, you let your fingers do the tapping.

Developed by Tapulous, it is a fun and addictive game that’s made even better for its iPad release. There are more than 30 free tunes that you can play in the game but thanks to its addictive quality, it won’t be long until you find yourself going for the paid songs as well. It’s hours worth of colorful, almost psychedelic, graphics and fun songs to tap your otherwise boring afternoon into.

If you have played Tap Tap games before, you would know by now that the most important thing in playing this is timing. You have to be very accurate when tapping along with the beat and into the screen.

The game rules are simple, just tap the orbs that show up on the screen in sync with the beat. When you tap incorrectly and at the wrong time, the orbs will start glowing red. Just glance up to check out if you want to see your streak meter or how well you are doing. Meanwhile, the right of the screen gives you an indicator whether you are tapping on time or if you are tapping too late.

Everytime you finish a song, you are given a sort of recap about how good or how bad you’ve played the game. This includes summaries of your tap streak and misses. This also shows the amount of points you’ve gathered, according to your tapping skills.

Thanks to the bigger iPad screen, it’s much easier to play this game with this device. It’s also twice as fun because of the free tracks from Mos Def, Serge Devant, Richard Vission and so many more. Go ahead and grab this cool game right now.

The Android version is coming soon!

There are plenty of interesting games out there but once in a while you encounter games that simply bend your mind. Uin is one of these games and in some ways, I guess, it’s expected since it’s from the same masterminds as those who created La La Land.

Uin lets you travel into a surreal land in search of your brother, well, not particularly because you want to but simply because there’s nothing to do. The game is Aldridge’s best work to date and engages and questions your mind and your sanity in some cases.

Matt Aldridge has become almost like an indie cult game maker ever since he released the popular mind bending game La La Land. That particular game won tons of following, thanks to its unconventional gameplay and storyline. Fast forward to today and you get, Uin. It’s the latest game from Aldridge after he released La La Land 5.

However, the indie cult game genius still adds his own quirks to the game. Just like his previous release, Uin is a surprisingly challenging and very weird game even though it contains a more traditional look in terms of game design. Despite this traditional design, in some ways it’s only for show as the game uses these same subjects and designs for its own unique purpose; making it quite unconventional.

The game also features odd controls and plenty of sub-quests to keep you entertained and wholly challenged. Although it’s not as fresh as that of his previous games, Uin still showcases Aldridge’s capability at exhibiting his brilliance and his randomness. If you look through reviews, very little is actually mentioned about how the game works and how its played and I think it helps in the mystique and challenge.
