The game features simple and basic gameplay that can last for about 10-15 minutes at a time. However, there are rogue-like elements and surprises that help keep players keep coming back for more.

This awesome dungeon crawler lets you to explore different dungeons. Each level is randomly generated so it keeps everything quite interesting. The gameplay is simple but don't be fooled, it's a tough game to master. Surprisingly, it's this juxtaposition of basic and complex that makes the game addictive and engaging. It's even garnered a fanbase and various forums have sprouted in discussing the various parts of the game like exchanging spells, tactics etc.

Okay, so even though it is mighty fun and addictive, the game isn't perfect. The graphics aren't worth swooning over but it's definitely decent. The characters are blocky and at some point, you might have trouble distinguishing a character from a piece of colored blob. Nevertheless, the gameplay and storyline more than make up for the unimpressive graphics.

When it comes to playing the game, there are two main goals to pursue when playing Desktop Dungeons. First, you have to raise your points or score and make it as high as possible. There are plenty of ways that you can do this, like for instance fighting off and killing enemies. The second goal of the game is to kill off the big bosses. Now, this one isn't so simple. Most of the bosses in the game are difficult to beat especially if their levels are high. In fact, the game somewhat prepares you for these battles since you would need to get to a certain level first, gain experience, items etc., before you are given a chance to face off a boss.

In the end, since you have to figure out the order of monsters to fight off before actually getting to the boss. Plus, you'll have to figure out and explore much of the area that you are given in order to do this. This provides the game with a puzzle element instead of just straight out role-playing.

Desktop Dungeons creatively incorporates these two points and create a game that is truly fun and enjoyable, not to mention challenging.

If you play the game, expect a lot of dungeon crawling and monster killing goodness coming your way.

Armed with randomly generated dungeons, playing the game becomes always fresh and exciting. Controls for the game are simple but very responsive. Essentially, you can shoot, use, or pick up a weapon. At any one time, you can only carry one weapon though. However, you can pick up three more items as you go ahead on your quest. Controls can also be customized for your convenience. This is perfect especially if you are playing with another player.

Just like an RPG, whenever you kill off an enemy you earn points. These points are perfect for level ups. Once you do level up, your weapons upgrade as well. The only thing is the upgrade doesn't transfer whenever you change weapons.

Gameplay depends on the players. You can either go your own way and explore every nook and cranny of the dungeon while taking out the resident monsters. Or you can simply look for the nearest stairs and head for the exit, so you can advance to the next level. There will be bosses popping out from nowhere so you always need to be on your toes.

Overall, the game definitely has more good points than bad points in my book. It has a fun gameplay that's fresh and quite intriguing. The weird mash-up of different game elements work great. Plus, it features a nice and catchy soundtrack. Give it a go.

If you're up for some hardcore gaming (and hooked on Walking Dead right now), then check out Rogue Survivor. With plenty of things to explore, this roguelike sandbox game will definitely fizzle your brains and give you a good challenge.

In Rogue Survivor you get no special skills or powers. You simply play average Joe trying to fend off and survive a zombie infestation. For every day you successfully fight off these brain eating creatures, you gain more skills and you level up. Basically, your main goal is to stay alive for as long as possible. Of course, you can always fork over to the other side by becoming a zombie and see just how many humans you can eat. Fun game that's well worth several hours of your day.

Fun game that's well worth several hours of your day.

Despite the fun gameplay, the game does seem lacking when it comes to graphics. It's created from tiny pixel art tiles which makes it tough to like. However, the gameplay more than makes up for it and pretty soon you won't even mind looking at that blurry colorful dot on your screen.

Controls are typical for roguelike game, you use the number keypad if you want to move around and explore. The game does let you use your mouse to check out information about items or things around you. Just hover it onto the item.

Your objective is to stay alive and, as usual, this is easier said than done. Oftentimes, the best strategy is still to run the hell out of there and escape from the zombies that are after you. The other nice thing about the game is that you can hire other people (fellow survivors) to help you build defenses etc.

Before playing the game, it's best that you go through some helpful tips on how to survive and get a feel for what you are supposed to do. The rules are a bit lengthy but they are a great help.

Rogue Survivor offers plenty of elements that make it interesting. Apart from being challenging, the game is a absolutely fun to play. It's currently in its early stages, so there are quirks here and there. But, it's definitely worth checking out.

True to most retro shooter games, this one is incredibly difficult to master. All 30 levels will give you a good run for your money as you go through each stage.

Initially based on an Atari game, Robotz; this game is new and improved yet retains the old school touch quite awesomely. Remade by Josh Monkman, the game beautifully captures the feel and gameplay of the original. Retaining some of the essential elements while adding a more updated look to capture the hearts of modern gamers. It's no joke that the game is difficult to beat so gather up patience and a lot of free time before diving in.

In the game, you play Jacob, a military personnel that gets summoned by the chief of the military to help them out with a "little" problem. Basically, you're going to head over to the base and fight off the robots that have run amok in the base. There are 30 levels to the game and your objective is to kill off all the robots in each level. Of course, it's not as simple as shooting them. Before you can kill off certain robots, you're going to have to destroy the "shield generator" ( the red pulsating thing.) Also, did I mention that you have to kill ALL of the robots in just 60 seconds?

Yes, just one minute to blow up every single bot running amok in the vicinity. This may seem impossible. Well, it's not easy but actually doable. To add to the difficulty, all it takes is one shot to kill you so you better watch your back while hunting them down. If you do die, don't be surprised if you find yourself in a different level from before. Each level is randomly generated so each time you die, you won't return to the same place as before (although sometimes it does go back.) This adds a whole other realm of difficulty and orientation to the game.

Overall, Robotz DX is a very challenging game. Old school gamers that are familiar with these types of games will have a great time playing it. Of course, new gamers might find it uber-tough but that's part of the challenge. Give it a go and see how long you'll last.
