Temple Run makes a swift landing on the iOS platform and will surely be a treat to all the adventure freaks. It is a typical treasure hunting game with its own fair-share of obstacles and difficulties thrown in the way.

Developed by Imangi Studios, these developers have quite a neat kitty as far as iOS games are concerned. Players who have played their earlier titles will certainly not be disappointed with the game.

The controls of the game are as simple as 1-2-3, so it is just a simple swipe and tilt controls that weave the entire magic in the game. The surroundings are very well etched and visually appealing, this adds up the brownie points that this game deserves. The game features numerous crazy power-ups and offers a plethora of options to level up the character, as per the players choice.

The developers claim to have incorporated an original 3D running mechanism, involving turning, jumping, sliding and tilting that is first of its kind in a game. I did not notice a big change, but nevertheless the game feels very responsive and at par with some of the high-end HD titles up for offer.

The game gives the player an option to play as 7 different characters, including Zack Wonder, the football star and Francisco Montoya, the conquistador searching for the fountain of youth. Temple Run syncs with Game Center and provides some very cool compare features with friends.

Overall, Temple Run is for the hardcore casual gamer, who really does not bother much about the resolution, graphics, game engine used and the works. Its for the gamer who wants mindless fun without breaking a sweat.

Something really new in a game and brings the situation closer to real-life.

Further, the game has two war-factions, they being House Steiner and House Davion. Choosing either side results in a different ending and different missions.

Being an online multiplayer game, MW4M enjoys numerous number of mods, maps, cheats, and other tools that add to the overall play-ability. Gear up warriors, it is time to join the team, load the guns, buckle-up, head for some intense killing and feel the "F.E.A.R". Yes, we are talking about the highly-popular F.E.A.R franchisee with the spine-chilling action that takes the FPS genre to a whole new level.

Developed by Monolith Productions, F.E.A.R Combat is a multiplayer online game being offered as a freeware. The game takes the entire queue from the other F.E.A.R versions and fans will immediately notice the similarities, once the game has shot-up and the mouse starts controlling the gun.

F.E.A.R Combat takes the multiplayer angle very seriously and does a darn good job with the maps, surroundings, gameplay, texture, and pixel-shaders. The graphic of the game even in 2011 look quite fresh, if not mind-blowing. I specially liked the destruction depicted on walls with bullet-shots, debris and smoke due to the grenades; also the blood and gore seem quite convincing. All this keeping in mind the game was a top-notch graphic produce in 2006 and has hold-up quite well, so a thumbs-up on that count.

Quite a few recent gamers do complain about the lack of additional guns (as combat offers only 7 regular and 3 special ones), but if the game is played for a while you will certainly notice that all the weapons are amazing and they are perfect for winning any level.
F.E.A.R Combat is one FPS game that is not recommended for newbies. This games takes FPS seriously and it is almost like business for the hardcore shooter fan. The balance of the game is enriched, so the more skill you possess, higher are the chances of winning.

The gameplay is super speedy, its like playing Counter Strike at 2x speed. There are 19 multiplayer maps and most of them have a very eerie surrounding, play them with earphones in a dark-room for the best experience! Its quite scary to say the least. Team commands are very simple and gun-load times are also very quick and responsive.

Overall, F.E.A.R Combat makes up for an excellent FPS with mean graphics and beautiful head-shots. It is highly balanced and a true calling for hardcore shooting addicts with an urge to kill and destroy. Many reviewers believe this offering to be quite a mean shot on the block till date. The game is the only release from the Red Robot Labs, but keeping in mind the execution level given to this title, the future updates/games are something to just anxiously wait for.

This time we bring something for the power-hungry gamer on both Android and iOS ecosystem in the form of Contract Killer: Zombies, an FPS game with highly detailed visuals and a very intuitive gameplay mechanism. The game takes its cue from the original Contract Killer version, but this time replacing human targets with brain-dead, flesh hungry and blood thirsty zombies.

Gameplay is very similar to the original Contract Killer, with players swiping the screen for lock-on targets, shooting with fire-button in the corner-right of the screen and getting maximum head-shots for extra bonuses in a given level.

The game is very close to reality with the major contributing factor being the presence of Evelyn, who not only accompanies the player on missions, but also provides with valuable in-game information. A drawback with Evelyn, however, is that she tends to play the typical Damsel-in-distress role on more than one occasion and players needs to kill zombies and protect her at the same time.

The game is not only about shooting, hacking, and killing. Players need to build-up on ammunition, food, medical supplies, rescue survivors and the works. Overall, the game is free and a must have for both, Android and iOS. The biggest advantage for iOS users is that the app is an universal one, so no windowed-mode on the iPad. A really thrilling game, with vast array of missions and multiple options to purchase ammunition for better precision, shooting, reloads and terminations of ZOMBIES.

RYZOM - a MMORPG game for Windows, Linux & Mac

MMORPG fans have certainly something to look forward to with Ryzom aka The Saga of Ryzom. This game comes directly from the sci-fi genre and offers an experience which some gamers out there can just dream of. It was originally developed by Nevrx, but currently the game's developer and publisher is Winch Gate Property, Ltd.

Gameplay is far from easy, and offers a host of features that impacts the entire story in the long run. Graphics are at its best with highly-detailed environments, characters, nemesis, and the likes.

Adding a load to the realistic touch is the very well thought weather and season changes. Seasons include winter, spring, fall and summer, while weather effects include winds, rain and snow. Ryzom enthusiasts will also find the "Sandbox" gameplay more than just helpful, as it offers the player the freedom to, without any restrictions, roam and discover the environment he/she is put into. A fitting farewell to the olden style of being stuck in an environment and follow a predefined path.

Coming to the game now - players are located on a planet called Atys in the year 2525, which is far from the conventional planet you might be thinking about. Its not a circular object, but a tree that can support multiple ecosystems and atmosphere with a plethora of networked branches and roots. Behavior is very realistic and it largely depends on the character class they belong to.

The Saga of Ryzom features four humanoid races, jointly called "Homins". They include Matis, Tryker, Zorai, and Fyros. Each of these classes have special abilities, strength levels, adaptability factor, special moves, etc. There are two additional classes that interact with the four mentioned above, but share a cold-war with each other. They are magical Kami and Technological Karavan. Its like a Science vs Mythology situation (at least that is what the names tell us).

The newer release offers the players the chance to unlock character abilities until level 125. This was locked in the previous releases. Gamers just need to sign-up for a Ryzom account and get their free trial account, though limitations are a thing of the past now.

Users can download The Saga of Ryzom as a direct media download, BitTorrent, or as a physical DVD or CD package.

Hidden & Dangerous - fight for your survival

The war has begun and this time around you are fighting for your survival. Hidden and Dangerous is a highly-acclaimed FPS game coming from the house of Illusion Softworks, now known as 2K Czech (PC & Sega Dreamcast) and Tarantula Studios (Playstation).

The game takes cue from the World War II and requires the player to execute some important missions in a war environment. Gameplay could be glitchy at places and there is known trouble on GeForce GPU systems, but otherwise a complete pleasure to play.

Players step-in the shoes of an officer commanding a four-man British Special Air Service team and guiding the clan through various mission and objectives. Missions are very detailed and this makes the gameplay interesting, and highly challenging. Being a tactical shooter, players have the option to command their clan by directly hovering the mouse over them, voice-commands or the advance players have the option of accessing the tactical map for much accurate real-time strategy.

Game missions include sabotage, search and destroy. A perfect weekend recipe for the hardcore shoot-and-kill gamers. An interesting fact about Hidden and Dangerous is the similarities it shares with actual Special Air Service happenings and its timeline.

There are multiple options as far as ammunitions go and the same thing goes to the maps. Players have to complete missions in Italy, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Germany, North Sea and Norway. Wow, quite a handful for the environments. Hidden and Dangerous Deluxe added an expansion pack in 2000, a US and UK version, Hidden and Dangerous: Devil's Bridge and Hidden and Dangerous: Fight for Freedom respectively.

Hidden and Dangerous: Deluxe was made a full free legal download in order to promote the release of Hidden and Dangerous 2. The game supports Windows, Dreamcast and Playstation and is a fine companion for some real, classic, hardcore shooting action.

Enemy Territory was supposed to be an expansion pack to the RTCW game series, but a problem owing to the single-player aspect led to Enemy Territory being released as a free and open-source standalone game on 29th May, 2003.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, like many FPS games, is based on the online multi-player platform. Here, players interact with each other over a network, most commonly LAN-network and have the option of picking up two sides, Allies and Axis. Both the clans have a destroy or defend mission.

Environments are map dependent, with a choice of six officially released maps. What makes these maps really interesting is that all of them are based on real places and real incidents. A very Counter-Strike like game, with each clan getting a limited time for carrying out a certain task and completing objectives. Wolfenstein has four game modes to offer, namely Campaign Mode, Objective Mode, Stopwatch Mode and Last Man Standing.
