Ghostbusters from Beeline Interactive is a simulation / action game where you control the Ghostbusters characters. The objective of the game is to build your HQ and you do this by researching and well, busting those ghosts. While it is not the first game to be based on the movie franchise, it is one of the best.

During the game you control the Ghostbusters as they go on their missions, with a map allowing you to select the next objective or go back to HQ. The Ghostbusters need to have energy to venture forth into those missions and this of course, requires regeneration.

You can control up to four Ghostbusters by pressing and dragging where they have to be and try to capture the ghost. This is not as easy as it seems, and you also have to remember that each Ghostbuster has specific abilities.

Part of the challenge in the game involves studying these traits and learning to use them properly. All the characters have stats that you need to keep track of. Even the ghosts have a health indicator and you need to bring it zero and then capture it. The mechanics of the game are pretty easy to understand and pick up, but the game becomes more difficult in the higher levels.

Ghostbusters, just like other free to play games, has IAPs that you have to pay for, but you can play the game without it. The IAPs are only for those who want to go through the levels and get cash quickly. You can actually disable the IAPs in the game.

Megapolis is a city builder game for the IOS and Android. Published by Social Quantum Ltd, it’ concept and gameplay should be very familiar to anyone who has played a city building game before, but this one has some new twists that give it a unique feeling.

In Megapolis you will build different kinds of buildings in your city to meet various goals that will appear at the side of your device�s screen. After you create the buildings, you will get experience points and soft currency. Gain enough experience points gaining ability to create more impressive buildings.

Megapolis also lets you create more structures by collecting taxes from these establishments. One of the nice things about this game is there are no time restrictions so you can play the game for as long as you like. There are in app purchases for the game if you want to buy premium items, but they are not necessary. Also, you can get those premium items in other ways rather than paying for them, like playing with your friends.

Just like a real city you need to build water towers and power stations to meet the needs of your city as it grows. Since each building has a different power and water supply need, you have to manage your resources well. What this means is you have to strike a balance between city building and managing your power and water resources.

In spite of this, Megapolis is much easier to play than other city simulation games on the PC, and the interface and gameplay is much more user friendly.

AE 3D Motor is one of the coolest racing games for Windows Phone 7. Published by AE Mobile, it is one of those games that make good use of the accelerometer. It�s for casual play, but there is plenty here to keep you coming back for more.

Players are on a motorcycle, racing past sidewalks, cars, trucks and other vehicles, all the while trying not to crash. Points are awarded when you zip past some vehicles. Bonus points are also available. You control the rider by tilting your phone.

If you want to go really fast, just click the screen. The game can be played from two views: behind and on top.�Basically you try to race for as long as possible, weaving in and out of traffic and trying to avoid that semi. You score more points the longer you can play.

The settings are not complicated. The options include viewing the high scores, going to the developers� website and changing game options. You can turn the sounds and setting vibrations on or off.�Once�you’ve�made all the changes, you can start playing.

The game is quite easy at first, but it gets tougher. The other drivers will start to veer across the highway crazily, so you need to avoid them. AE 3D Motor has very responsive controls, and the graphics are nice too. The sounds are more than adequate.

Players race in three unique routes; at a suspension bridge, a desert track and Sunshine Beaches. The scenery is detailed, and it fits in perfectly with the setting. There are many motor games for Windows Phone 7, but AE 3D is definitely one of the best.

Orbiter is a free space simulator, and it is also one of the most realistic. This isn�t one of those space arcade games where you zoom around and shoot aliens. This simulator will show what it�s like to really be in space. Created by Martin Schweiger, it employs real life physics.

The game takes a while to master, but it�s definitely worth it. Orbiter allows you to recreate classic space flights via its addon packages like Vostok, Apollo, Gemini, Mercury and more. it even has the Space Shuttle which can be launched from Kennedy Space Center. You will also see the ISS (International Sapce Station).

Orbiter also has easier to fly fictional spacecraft which can help new gamers. Apart from recreating history, you can voyage on futuristic space craft and explore the Solar System and beyond. The major moons, eight planets and Sun are present.

Add-on packages include asteroids, comets and dwarf planets. There is even a planetarium mode. In this mode, you will see the moons and planets with labels and their location. Celestial bodies also indicate their interesting features.

Orbiter�s realism is such that planetary motion is modeled accurately. Orbital decay, atmospheric flight, free space and gravitation effects (including non-spherical gravity) are all built-in.

Orbiter has a vast user community and you can download add-ons made by other gamers. Users can deign their own rockets. Serious space flight students can learn about orbital mechanics. They learn by experimenting and playing the game.

Orbiter also comes with a 100,000 star database. In keeping with the realism though, you cannot do any interstellar travel. Orbiter is designed to run in Windows computers.

The game of checkers has been around for a long time, and made their way into desktops laptops and smartphones. Checkers Free from Optime Software is one of the best looking ones for the iPhone yet.

The design is simple and clean, something that has become a trademark of the company. Controls are intuitive; tap a piece to select and tap to where you want to put it. The game has an undo button in case you move in the wrong area. The options menu allows you to turn the sound effects on or off, use forced jumps or not and many others.

The graphics are nice, the subtle colors easy on the eyes. The sound when you move the piece is realistic. You also hear groans when you lose and cheers when you win. Single players can choose the level of play. Move the slider to the right to increase the difficulty level. Warning: moving to the extreme right will make the game very difficult.

Checkers Free has pretty good (and challenging) AI. You can go up against another player if you want to as well.

Fans of the classics will enjoy this game. Its addictive and can be played anywhere. If you have never played checkers before, this is a great way to get into it.

Whenever anyone talks about Blackberry, the first thing that comes to mind is Business. Well, things have changed and this time around we are talking about HD gaming for the Blackberry Playbook. Yes, sometimes the big boys in suits also deserve a fair bit of fun. Need For Speed Undercover is one great racing game and it literally blows the Playbook to uncharted territory.

The game was developed by Electronic Arts Inc and was pre-installed on all the Playbook models. Electronic Art is name synonymous with gaming and they have produced and still produce some of the most award-winning titles for PC, Xbox, PS3 and Smartphones. Lets see how this popular game fares up in gameplay.

Need For Speed is a franchisee that took gaming to an all new level when first released for desktop, and they aim to do just the same with the smartphone platform. The game was specifically developed keeping the hardware of the Playbook in mind, which promises an amazing gameplay and it does not fail to deliver.

Need For Speed Undercover brings with it 8 race modes and all of them bring a challenging gameplay to the scene. The most famous of them being Head-to-Head Action, Highway Battle, and Cop Takeout. My personal favorite definitely is the Cop Takeout mode with a real adrenaline rush pumping throughout the gameplay.

Taking into consideration that the game was mastered for Playbook, people are quite skeptical about the graphic it will pump-out, but to everyone’s surprise, the Playbook throws up jag-free edges, crisp visuals, beautifully rendered cars and tracks, amazing car crashes, and sweeping camera angles. In short, visually this game is a gamers delight to say the least.

A feature that will blow away many Playbook users is the ability to play the game on HDTV. Yes, just hook the Playbook via the HDMI port to an HDTV and immerse within the bliss eye-popping visuals. Moreover, the controls are very responsive and do not feel tight at all (Unlike many touchscreen-only games).

Overall, Need For Speed Undercover is an amazing game with plenty game-modes to keep users busy for quite sometime. Moreover, the game brings a new dimension to the Blackberry world and helps the company to break away from the serious “Business only device” tag. All Playbook users must have this on their device and make the most of your Blackberry Playbook.

Driving Speed 2 is a free racing game from WheelSpin Studios. For a free game though, it is very well designed. Players can select from four powerful cars and compete against up to 11 other cars. The race takes place on two exciting circuits. You can also play against human opponents over the Internet (8 multiplayer mode) and LAN.

The game also has a Championship mode. Here you can pit your skills against the finest drivers on the Web. You can upgrade cars and even repair it. Driving Speed 2 has a challenging AI, cool sound effects and high quality graphics. The game also boasts of realistic physics, so you need to steer the car properly.

The game allows you to set lap records and then post it online. This is a great way to compare lap times against friends and fellow gamers around the world. If you�re not yet ready for Championship mode, try racing around the tracks first. This is recommended for those who are used to arcade racing.

Tiny Tower is one of the most popular games for the iPhone, and understandably so. For one thing, it is very simple to learn; you build a tower and maintain it. Only minimal skills are required. Every time you play the game, you�ll progress. But there�s more to this game from Nimblebit of course.

Your goal is to provide work for the Bitizens (the tower�s residents). It is like a virtual ant farm. You start with one tower and a lobby. If you go through the tutorial, you will be able to create your first floor and the production floor.

The Bitizens will come in and you have to give them a job. As the Bitizens work, they�ll earn coins. You can use those coins to build more floors. When you make enough coins to make another level, you�ll get a Tower Bux bonus.

Tiny Tower is free to play. You can earn Tower Bux whenever you play the game. But you can use real-life money to buy Tower Bux to speed things up. But they are not necessary. As long as you play the game regularly, you will get the Bux. They can be earned in many ways; manning an elevator, stacking a store, helping people find their way around the tower etc.

Simutrans is an open source transport simulator game. Your objective is to create networks of transportation. You are in charge of developing signals, tunnels, bridges, level crossings, quays and similar structures. The game is developed by the Simutrans Development Team.

You earn money by transporting people via high speed or commuter trains. The money you earn can be used to build even more structures. Simutrans offers electric, diesel and steam engines. These units have unique properties. You also control aircraft, trucks, buses, ships and ferries. You will even get the chance to build Maglevs and monorails.

By transporting people around, your city and the areas around it will prosper and grow. You will see buses moving around and trucks carrying cargo to and from. Management is not limited to vehicles. You need to be certain factories are stocked. They must have trucks ready to carry cargo and goods. As the area grows, new routes have to be generated. You also have to manage the city�s finances. All of these activities make the game quite addictive.

Pay close attention to industries, oil rigs, power plants and oil fields. It�s your job to coordinate all of these activities. Fortunately, the numerous vehicle options help with the task. You can even build airports and various stations. You can start in 1880 and go all the way to 2050. The ever changing nature of the game mean there is always something new to look forward to. As time passes by, you will see the vehicles and buildings evolve. There are dozens of transportable goods. The game currently has more than 40 industries.

Frisbee Forever from publisher Kiloo is a lot of fun. Whether you’re a Frisbee aficionado or just getting into the game, it is worth a look into. There are ten unique settings. Each one has ten levels so there are a hundred in all. This feature alone shows just how varied the game can be.

The gamplay is simple; just flick your Frisbee and off it will go. There are obstacle courses to go through, but you can navigate the Frisbee right or left. Watch as your disc flies through corkscrews, loops and other obstructions.

The tile and touch controls work very well and your Frisbee glides smoothly. Keep your momentum by flying through triangular and circular checkpoints; you’ll need them to reach the end. If you get three stars in a level, you’ll earn a star coin. The more coins you earn, the more features you can unlock. Coins can also be used to upgrade your discs or buy new ones.

As you go deep into the game, you’ll have to collect stars along the way. The medals you earn will depend on how many of these stars you collect. The physics isn’t very realistic and it isn’t meant to be. Any sense of realism is happily thrown out of the window in the name of fun. The graphics are colorful, perfect for the game. The sounds are great too.

Basically what you have to do in Frisbee Forever is to strike the checkpoints and keep the disc in the air until the level ends. It is fun, but not without challenges. If you can’t play Frisbee outdoors this is the next best thing.
