Played around with a lot of ass kicking zombies? Well, this time around fight for survival with zombies the size of Mario. Yes, these zombies are far from intimidating, but they surely are out for a kill and the their meal is none other than you.

Developed by Italy Games, yes the same developer who have given Android their best Bowling and Chess game, Zombie Dash is another masterpiece on the Android market – offered for free. This is one game that is sure to hook users to their device for some casual gaming game.

The game takes 90% cue from the iOS game Jetpack Joyride by Halfbrick Studios, from the power-up methods, obstacles, shooting styles, the zombies, to the main lead. The other 10% that is the original take on the environment. Nonetheless, the developer manages to add a bit of panache to it and make it look more original than it might sound.

In-game, players are given the sole responsibility of saving their city which has been swarmed by brain-dead zombies and fight for survival at the same time. Gameplay is very intuitive and addicting with the inclusion of jump and shoot button equipped on either sides of the screen. Old-time gamer are in for a treat as the game allows for a total Mario like feature, under which players can jump on top of the other zombies eliminating them as well as hitting bricks to get the necessary power-ups.

Overall, this is a great game and a thumbs up is surely deserved by the developer for the awesome mash-up they have cooked up. The scoring point for this game would be the fact that Jetpack Joyride is an iOS exclusive, so Zombie Dash coming to the Android ecosystem just aims at capturing the market ASAP. My personal rating 4.5 out of 5. Happy gaming everyone.

TAGAP 2 (The Apocalyptic Game about Penguins) is the sequel to the original TAGAP game. Developed by the Penguin Development Team, it offers more action and adventure. This 2D platformer and shoot em up sees the team up of Pedro and Pablo, the cyber-penguins. Together they battle the zombie penguin army of the dastardly General Primo.

TAGAP 2 improves on the original with new weapons, environments and better graphics. The gameplay is more dynamic and bigger in every sense. Pedro can provide air strikes while Pablo can use electromagnetism and grenades. As per action games, you have a lot of weapons to choose from including chainguns, flamethrowers and so on. More powerful weapons are available as you progress. If power ups and heavy guns are not enough, you can control vehicles.

TAGAP 2 starts in New Zealand and Antarctica, but it branches out into other places including cities, an urban construction site, a mental ward, a jungle and more. If you make it to the final level, you will be in a mecha-penguin driven by General Primo. If you have played TAGAP, this game will be easy to pick up. Even if you haven’t, the controls are easy to learn. Warning: the enemy penguins are a lot tougher this time around.

The presentation is very nice, with 3D accelerated graphics effects combined with traditional 2D gameplay. A cool soundtrack for the game is also available. Advanced gamers can also use the level editor to extend its lifespan.

TAGAP 2 can be played by two people, with one taking the role of Pablo. The game is designed for Microsoft Windows 7, Vista and XP.

Time to bring out the darker and evil gaming side hiding in everyone of us as Dark Legends storms the Android platform. The game packs-in fangs, blood, and super speed that will surely satisfy every MMORPG fans’ hunger for the ultimate gameplay experience.

Created by Spacetime Studios this developer is marked as one of the top ones on Google Play and MMORPG seems to be their forte. Dark Legends is quite a hit on Google Play by raking in an average rating of 4.6 which is great comapred to the flood of new games by the hour.

To begin the game is packed with enjoyable hack and slash fun, especially during online battles with other players. There is lots of customization available and a huge game to explore. Dark Legends as a game really puts the player in control of a blood-thirsty vampires, on a quest to find the culprit responsible for him/her becoming a vampire.

There is a funny part to the game and that being the vampire in question is a good guy. Yes, you read that right, a good guy. He simply has a bit of a nibble on a human and then sends them on their way with a polite “sorry.” The only mission he needs to accomplish is to find out the main culprit who transformed him into a vampire. Quite interesting I say.

The map integrated within the Dark Legends gameplay is made up of numerous campaigns filled with story-based goings-on and the world map shows a string of missions to complete, and the player needs to spend their energy points on wrapping these up one by one (gaining and earning energy points is not a very simple task).

The visuals on this game are a bit of a let down as Spacetime Studios has really not done much to enhance the graphics and certain elements still look outdated from the time of Pocket Legends. Overlooking this, the game has a fun element to it and therefore will keep MMORPG fans smiling for quite some time.

The game features two protagonists, who are all out to destroy the T.O.O.L invaders. Gun Bros was always a highly acclaimed arcade shooter, with the introduction of Multiplayer mode, the game has taken a new turn and given an all-new feel to the already popular game franchisee.

Overall, the game is great and once again GLU Mobile has offered a game that raises the bar for freemium apps. A must try for every gamer who is on the Android or iOS platform, this game will provide with the whole killer experience.

Developed by Glu games, people who have brought some other very compelling titles, the game is an eye-candy and packs in a lot of mean action for a thorough addictive gameplay.

Eternity Warriors deploys players in Norther Udar, with the sole-purpose of defeating a demon threat spoiling peace after a full 20 years. The land has been threatened by chaos and transformed into a breeding ground of evilness and dangers. All this being done by demonic powers under the command of Demon King Kilic.

The game is high on 3D visuals, with very crisp looking environment, characters, nemesis, weapons and effects. Also, the entire gameplay mechanism is very swift with an intelligent integration of light and heavy attacks. Hardcore gamers will love the array of special moves, combos and devastating attacks available to take out an entire hoard of demonic enemies.

Players also have the option to purchase new armor, swords, axes, power-ups for the best gameplay experience and hours of non-stop action with a highly customized character at your disposal. Eternity Warrior is not just a single player glory but adds multiplayer support; via OpenFeint and Facebook.

In my opinion, Eternity Warriors is a really high-packed, adrenaline pumping game with a very well integrated gameplay mechanism. Final Fantasy lovers will be in for a treat with the similarities this title shares with it. Overall, a great free game packaged in console-quality.

Speed Forge 3D

This one is for all Android users with a love for speed running through their veins; so yes, if speed is what you need than Speed Forge 3D might just be for you. Developed by RatSquare for which the title is the first one to be released on the platform, it seems they have done quite a decent job.

Speed Forge takes place on the planet Mars in the year 2142 with a good dose of crime taking place all around. Also, due to the heavy growth of industries, there has been an increase of the number of colonies and inhabitants, and special vehicles with heavy-duty armor has been used to help miners in crushing rocks with explosives.

Due to the rampant growth of crime, the Speed Forge vehicles are now deployed in illegal street race with their use of full-blown machinery. The races all take place in abandoned factories and the creepy dark Marsian alleys. The games are simple races between the modified vehicles with lap timing and positions.

Graphics are slick, with vehicles and their effects visually appealing; even the tracks and environment settings look beautiful. However, there is a downfall to the game, which do not have a varied choice when it comes to vehicle and track selection. So, gameplay tends to become a bit repetitive.

In my opinion, although the game lacks in choices it makes up for it in the visually pleasing interface and simplicity, making it a real treat for a casual gamer. So give it a try.

Black Lodge is the much talked about videogame homage to the wildly popular Lynchian cult classic, Twin Peaks. If you’re a fan of the series, you should be all over this game. It’s a beautiful piece that essentially captures the craziness, mystery and magnetic storyline of the original tv show.

The game was created by Jak Lodge and features all the goodness the original storyline has to offer plus a bit more. With amazing Atari 2600 style, the game is playable for both Mac and PC. It also comes with a manual that the developer encourages you to read first before starting.

The game places you in the shoes of special agent, Dale Cooper. The story line picks up close to the final season tv show arc where Cooper has found himself trapped inside the Black Lodge; a mystical realm where both Heaven and Hell meet. You’re currently stuck and need to find an exit by exploring one room after another. To make it more interesting, you have your doppelganger hounding you as you try to find your way out.

Along with the crazy storyline, the gameplay is quite difficult to finish. However, the developer promises some exciting Easter egg once you do reach 5000 points. Of course, even solving the actual puzzle by then will still make you want to pull your hair.

If you’re looking for a chance to satisfy your love for Twin Peaks apart from watching reruns off the net, then this is a great game to check out.

RYZOM

MMORPG fans have certainly something to look forward to with Ryzom aka The Saga of Ryzom. This game comes directly from the sci-fi genre and offers an experience which some gamers out there can just dream of. It was originally developed by Nevrx, but currently the game’s developer and publisher is Winch Gate Property, Ltd.

Gameplay is far from easy, and offers a host of features that impacts the entire story in the long run. Graphics are at its best with highly-detailed environments, characters, nemesis, and the likes.

Adding a load to the realistic touch is the very well thought weather and season changes. Seasons include winter, spring, fall and summer, while weather effects include winds, rain and snow. Ryzom enthusiasts will also find the “Sandbox” gameplay more than just helpful, as it offers the player the freedom to, without any restrictions, roam and discover the environment he/she is put into. A fitting farewell to the olden style of being stuck in an environment and follow a predefined path.

Coming to the game now – players are located on a planet called Atys in the year 2525, which is far from the conventional planet you might be thinking about. Its not a circular object, but a tree that can support multiple ecosystems and atmosphere with a plethora of networked branches and roots. Behavior is very realistic and it largely depends on the character class they belong to.

The Saga of Ryzom features four humanoid races, jointly called “Homins”. They include Matis, Tryker, Zorai, and Fyros. Each of these classes have special abilities, strength levels, adaptability factor, special moves, etc. There are two additional classes that interact with the four mentioned above, but share a cold-war with each other. They are magical Kami and Technological Karavan. Its like a Science vs Mythology situation (at least that is what the names tell us).

The newer release offers the players the chance to unlock character abilities until level 125. This was locked in the previous releases. Gamers just need to sign-up for a Ryzom account and get their free trial account, though limitations are a thing of the past now.

Users can download The Saga of Ryzom as a direct media download, BitTorrent, or as a physical DVD or CD package.

Ruins (Cardboard Computers)

One of the more interesting games of late, Ruins, is a beautiful puzzle platformer involving dogs, rabbits and gorgeous shadowy landscapes. The game was created by Cardboard Computers, the same people responsible for that equally intriguing point & click about repairing balloons, Balloon Diaspora.

They’ve been around for some time and have released quite a handful of titles under their name. Specializing in short art games, the company is well-known for its beautiful graphics and quirky themes. Ruins is no exception to this. With a stunning game setting and an unconventional gameplay, it’s definitely worth your time.

Now a word of warning, the game deals more with ideas, and oftentimes you’ll simply find yourself discussing or thinking. There’s no big boss fight or exciting surprises in the game, instead you’ll be playing a dog who chases rabbits. And once you finally catch up to them, you actually just talk and listen to what they have to say.

This may sound utterly boring but it’s surprisingly entertaining. The dialogue or conversations that take place are very engaging and how you respond in the conversations serve as a crucial point in the game. It’s essentially what ties the whole storyline together.

Capturing the whole story by playing the game just once though is impossible. It takes multiple plays before you can get the entire picture since certain options/answers will yield only one piece of the puzzle. However, that’s the beauty of it. It’s the race of finding out the real score that will make you want to play the game again and again. Plus, the stunning landscape and the dreamy musical score is also another reason why you might want to keep coming back to this.

Overall, if you want to try something new and just play a very unconventional game, then you’re in for a treat in Ruins. Give this a go. The game is available as a free download.

SuteF is a complicated and challenging puzzle platformer that will truly delight your senses. It’s a cool game where you will need to shove around boxes, avoid laser beams, scale walls and activate switches. Your main goal for doing this would be escape from the “Abyss.”

This game is actually an updated version of an eerie, but interesting game called Fetus. Of course, suteF is more advanced and fleshed out. It contains new mechanics that will intrigue and challenge both old and new gamers alike.

Each puzzle is creatively done, plus the entire game resonates with a semi dark atmosphere without going overboard. This one easily takes the cake as among the best puzzle games of 2010.

Basically, the game lets you control a blue character that’s trying to get away from a nightmarish land that’s known as the Abyss. Your main goal is to lead your character towards the exit out of every room. However, you will need to figure out very interesting, not to mention, brain-twisting puzzles. You’ll also encounter countless weird creatures.

Created in 8-bit, the game combines simple graphics with a really fun gameplay. The variety in controls also makes the game even more appealing. On the one hand, you have your typical one button push controls. For instance, you press the Z key to perform a jump and press X to activate your grappling hook. You’ll need the hook to drag boxes in place to prevent laser beams from hitting you. Even though this might sound a bit boring, it’s a different feel once you start playing the game.

The best part is that the game is available for free download. Game time is roughly two hours so you can easily play this on your break or if you have some spare time during your day.
