The zombie survival horror genre is crowded, but Dead on Arrival is still worthy of a look, combining elements of classic survival horror with good old fashioned arcade style shooting. This combo doesn�t always work but N3V Games has managed to pull it off here.

Dead on Arrival takes place in a hospital with hordes of the undead coming in from everywhere just like any other survival horror game. However, here you can make money by shooting down the zombies and use it to buy more ammo and guns. If you are able to fend off the undead, you will earn Z-bucks that you can use to unlock more weapons.

But the game is not all about shooting down zombies, as you also need to use strategies like barricading doors, try to access secret rooms and depending on the situation, fight on or make a strategic retreat. The fact that you can explore many rooms adds another dimension to this game.

That being said, the emphasis on Dead on Arrival is still to kill the undead, and it�s a lot of fun gunning them down while you earn money. Gamers will also like the variety of weapons here including the really cool rail gun and freeze ray.

Unlike games that require you to make an IAP to get the new weapons, Dead on Arrival lets you get your hands on these by simply exploring the many boxes scattered about the hospital.

Dead on Arrival is a solid survival horror game, with just the right amount of shooting and exploration to keep things fresh and enjoyable.

The Last Driver

The Last Driver is all about driving in a muscle car in an apocalyptic landscape, trying to rend off zombies, dinosaurs and a host of other terrors that has come up from the world. Created by Chillingo Ltd, you have no goal other than to survive. If you�re looking for a fun game that has plenty of action and speed, this is it.

As you drive through the landscape battling zombies, aliens and other creatures, you�ll have to accomplish other side missions along the way which increase in difficulty. Some of the most challenging ones will have you driving with a timer while trying to gather a specific amount of coins. While they don�t advance the storyline in Last Driver, the missions are a lot of fun and add another dimension to the game.

Apart from the gorgeous graphics all the levels are randomly generated and they dynamically change. As you drive you�ll see UFOs and dinosaurs smashing buildings and so on. As you see the buildings collapse, you can use them as ramps for you to cross, but you also need to avoid obstacles as you drive along.

The game isn�t complicated and that�s just right. Rather than figure out some difficult strategy, you just need to run over those zombies and make sure the T Rex doesn�t catch up to you.

Last Driver has been called a driving game, but that�s not entirely accurate as you can�t move away from the path, so it�s more like an endless runner. Call it what you will, it�s really a lot of fun and exhilarating, and it�s free too.

Zombie Dash

Played around with a lot of ass kicking zombies? Well, this time around fight for survival with zombies the size of Mario. Yes, these zombies are far from intimidating, but they surely are out for a kill and the their meal is none other than you.

Developed by Italy Games, yes the same developer who have given Android their best Bowling and Chess game, Zombie Dash is another masterpiece on the Android market – offered for free. This is one game that is sure to hook users to their device for some casual gaming game.

The game takes 90% cue from the iOS game Jetpack Joyride by Halfbrick Studios, from the power-up methods, obstacles, shooting styles, the zombies, to the main lead. The other 10% that is the original take on the environment. Nonetheless, the developer manages to add a bit of panache to it and make it look more original than it might sound.

In-game, players are given the sole responsibility of saving their city which has been swarmed by brain-dead zombies and fight for survival at the same time. Gameplay is very intuitive and addicting with the inclusion of jump and shoot button equipped on either sides of the screen. Old-time gamer are in for a treat as the game allows for a total Mario like feature, under which players can jump on top of the other zombies eliminating them as well as hitting bricks to get the necessary power-ups.

Overall, this is a great game and a thumbs up is surely deserved by the developer for the awesome mash-up they have cooked up. The scoring point for this game would be the fact that Jetpack Joyride is an iOS exclusive, so Zombie Dash coming to the Android ecosystem just aims at capturing the market ASAP. My personal rating 4.5 out of 5. Happy gaming everyone.

TAGAP 2 (The Apocalyptic Game about Penguins) is the sequel to the original TAGAP game. Developed by the Penguin Development Team, it offers more action and adventure. This 2D platformer and shoot em up sees the team up of Pedro and Pablo, the cyber-penguins. Together they battle the zombie penguin army of the dastardly General Primo.

TAGAP 2 improves on the original with new weapons, environments and better graphics. The gameplay is more dynamic and bigger in every sense. Pedro can provide air strikes while Pablo can use electromagnetism and grenades. As per action games, you have a lot of weapons to choose from including chainguns, flamethrowers and so on. More powerful weapons are available as you progress. If power ups and heavy guns are not enough, you can control vehicles.

TAGAP 2 starts in New Zealand and Antarctica, but it branches out into other places including cities, an urban construction site, a mental ward, a jungle and more. If you make it to the final level, you will be in a mecha-penguin driven by General Primo. If you have played TAGAP, this game will be easy to pick up. Even if you haven’t, the controls are easy to learn. Warning: the enemy penguins are a lot tougher this time around.

The presentation is very nice, with 3D accelerated graphics effects combined with traditional 2D gameplay. A cool soundtrack for the game is also available. Advanced gamers can also use the level editor to extend its lifespan.

TAGAP 2 can be played by two people, with one taking the role of Pablo. The game is designed for Microsoft Windows 7, Vista and XP.

All the hardcore gaming fans with a thirst for some eye-popping graphics, it is time to welcome the ultimate in mobile gaming in the form of Dead Trigger. This is one game where Zombies will make you squeal and gore will become a part of your life.

Dead Trigger was developed by Madfinger Games, the developers of the most visually outstanding games, such as, Samurai Vengeance and Shawdowgun. The developer has gone one step ahead in the fight against piracy within the Android ecosystem, and made Dead Trigger available for free. Commendable job we say.

Dead Trigger makes the most deadly first impression on any gamer. The graphics are stunning, the action is fast-paced, and the blood splatters just as it should. This game actually matches up-to a current-gen console game, but falls short of it when you begin playing it. The sole reason being the length of the missions, it is just to short and finishes off before the player realizes.

This is one beautiful game and sets benchmarks for many other upcoming high-end games, and easily matches up-to the likes of Infinity Blade II and Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation. Gameplay on the higher-end Android devices and the iPad third-gen is lag-free and works like a charm. There was no stuttering or frame-rate drop at all, irrespective of the number of zombies there were on screen.

The mission of the game is quite simple, zombies come, they attack, you shoot and that is how the progression of the game is based on. A player is situated in an enclosed area and the living dead keep entering from here,there and everywhere. Zombies have been designed very well and to a certain extent, the AI really impressed me with the feedback received in-game.

Overall, Dead trigger really shows the bright future of Mobile gaming, which is coming at par with the current-gen consoles. If hacking and slashing is in your veins, then Dead Trigger is the perfect game to feature in your HD game folder.

Bomberman vs Zombies

Another game to satisfy the gaming hunger of Blackberry users. Bomberman Vs Zombie is quite a fancy name for a Blackberry device, but it really is interesting and amazing in its own right!

Bomberman Vs Zombies was developed by Contlex Labs LLP and they have really done a great job to say the least. The developer has created a number of titles for the Blackberry and Android devices and it comes as no surprise why they are popular among its users.

The game mixes up the concept of the classic Bomberman game with some evil-dead thrown in for fun. In game you will be assigned 5 lives and a mission to to clear all of the Zombies in order to open the door to the next level. The user-interface of the game is simply amazing and really does a neat job to help players get around settings and options really quick.

The game includes the deadly creatures with several different characteristics, they being, slow zombies, fast zombies and zombies that can teleport themselves. It further includes a healthy amount of bonuses, which can be used by players for their own advantage in-game. Also, to break the monotony, players have the options to use different kind of bombs.

Overall, the game is great and quite easy-to-play and provides hours of fun for players who are heavily into casual gaming. The game is also available on Android.

Jaws Revenge

Jaws: Revenge is the sequel to the successful Jaws iOS game. This one takes all the fun in the first game and ups it several notches. This time, Fuse Powered Inc allows you to play the shark, destroying boats, and of course, tearing, shredding and eating hapless human beings and seagulls.

The goal is simple: try to rise from the ocean depths and cause as much pain and destruction as possible. The game controls are very simple. Pressing and holding the screen causes the shark to dive. Let it go to send the creature up. It will go into the air, smashing boats, barges, lands, places and people. When the shark gets to eat, expect blood and gore to fly.

Players can choose from Free Swim and Objective modes. The objective mode will have you finishing specific types of challenges. You may be required to make 10 high jumps or eat X number of people before getting to a buoy. Free Swim mode, requires you to swim for survival and get the highest score possible. Either mode will provide a lot of excitement and users can expect to play this game for a while.

You can also get gold coins to enhance the shark’s abilities. For example, you can get into Frenzy mode where the shark gets a speed boost. You can also enhance the shark’s skin. Fused Powered Inc has done a great job of implementing the graphics here.

Jaws: Revenge is a gory action adventure game. If you’re into thrills and not afraid of some gore, this is a game you will enjoy. The game is for the iPad and iPhone.

Blackberry is an out-an-out business device and although its high on security, productivity and connectivity, sometimes there is just not enough of the entertainment factor thrown in. These troubles, however, could just be forgotten with Chopper Pro, by far the best and most addictive game on Blackberry.

Chopper Pro was created by AppsForBB.com, a developer that has quite a repute on Blackberry App World with a high inclination towards utility apps, but don’t worry as this little gem will definitely not disappoint.

The game is as simple as counting 1,2,3. The main objective handed over to the player is to guide a helicopter to the maximum possible distance. Well, though the objective is simple, the gameplay not a walk in the park. The Chopper sways down on its own will, as if its running out of gas you better watch out.

Control and concentration is the key factor to mastering the game, though frustration might seep in for the non-gamers. For all of the hardcore gamers out there willing to put their ego on the line and fight till the end there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Overall, Chopper Pro is an exceptional game for Blackberry handsets. So while commuting, instead of social-networking or using BBM; users have now something else to shoot-up and control.

Here is something for all those who just cannot get enough of casual gaming titles on their smartphones. Ninja Dash is one offering that every gamer at heart will love and adore to the fullest, all owing to the sweet graphics and intuitive play style integrated within the ecosystem.

Created by Mouse Games, this developer has produced some rather sad titles in the past, but things seem to have taken a turn with their Ninja Dash offering.

The game offers crisp visuals and a very cute ninja all decked in black. In-game, players need to collect special weapons and avoid obstacles in order to get the maximum distance in their name. Another Jetpack Joyride rip-off friends, but it still holds a decent place.

The game features three difficulty levels; Easy, Hard and Crazy. All the modes have been designed quite well and provide a satisfactory gaming experience to the player with no doubt. Controls are easy and do not require the player to break a sweat over the gameplay. A simple touch of the ‘jump’ button enables the ninja to jump over the obstacles, a double tap of the jump button enables a higher leaps over objects. The slide button enables leaps or slips to collect weapons for health increase.

The game currently boasts with 29 achievements and the developer promises to add more very soon. The game is very simple and requires no strategies or high-end planning. Overall, a great time killer that does its job in a more than adequate way.

Since than, Glu has produced some of the most amazing game titles such as Frontline Commando, Blood & Glory, Guitar Hero, Gun Bros Multiplayer and many more. Samurai vs Zombie really sticks to the legacy of great gaming fan.

If you think about Samurai vs Zombie as a run of the mill mindless game, think again. The app has a certain feel to it which helps it to create a niche in the casual gaming segment. What Glu Mobile really achieves here is creating a game out-of-the-box without making it look like a mash up of their past titles.

Samurai vs Zombies defense puts players in the shoes of a heroic samurai who has sworn to defend the gates of his sacred village against the oncoming horde of brain-dead attackers. That onslaught just happens to be coming from swarms of zombies who are hungry for some samurai bite. Archers, swordsmen, warriors, and eventually even riflemen and heroes on horseback will come to help.

Overall, the game is full of action, adventure, hack-and-slash, fast-paced gameplay, awesome visuals so-on and so-forth. It is a freemium app and hence the need of integrating in-app purchases was a must for Glu, but interestingly players need not make any in-app purchase to smoothly glide through in-game levels. A very big boon to enjoy this marvel of a game.
