If you're looking for a different type of balloon busting game, iSplume might just be the game to try out next. Originally offered for sale, the game is now available as a free download on the Mac App Store. This cool puzzle game from Flash Bang Studios has gained quite a lot of fans since its release. Unlike regular puzzle bobble types, this one makes use of quirky little creatures called splumes. The objective is a bit similar to the original though. You have to position at least three similar colored splumes in order for them to pop. Of course, there are additional sets of rules that help make this one a little bit more interesting than its counterparts.

Developed by a group of people from the University of Metz in France, the game explores a new take on gaming by using it as a tool for gaining understanding by putting you in someone else's shoes. The game sees you in the footsteps of a man trying to make sense of his past. Your job is to help him put together his memories by solving puzzles in each level. Each step gets you closer to unraveling what he has kept hidden in his subconsious. It's an intriguing game that's equipped with a unique storyline and an interesting gameplay.

Chicktionary is essentially TextTwist with chickens. For the uninitiated, TextTwist is a popular word game that was created by GameHouse and runs in Java. As mentioned, Chicktionary is similar to TextTwist in that you have to come up with words using a provided set of letters. The only difference with this one is that you get clucking chickens who "hatch" the letters to form the words. Created by Blockdot. Inc, the game used to be offered for $1.99 when it first came out but currently it's being offered for free on the App Store. If you're up for some fun and maybe testing your vocabulary, give the game a go.

The game exudes a Myst-like vibe, cool graphics and awesome music, courtesy of Oliver Blank. The game is simple short but there's still some fun to be had despite the almost 15 minutes of gameplay only. In Balloon Diaspora, you play a stranded chap in an unknown and mysterious place. You're going to have to fix the balloon to get out. Fixing your ride means you need to talk to the locals and have them help you find patches of cloth to repair the balloon. This game is short and simple, perfect game to squeeze in your mini break.

Fract is Myst-like game where you are immersed in this wonderful Tron inspired world. You solve puzzles and explore this glorious colorful world. The game consists of point and click controls making it quite interesting and unique. The game was developed by Richard Flanagan and among the finalists for the 2011 IGF Student Showcase Finalist. Fract is done entirely in 3D and features a really atmospheric world that takes away the player and immerses him into it. Currently, the updated beta version of the game runs on both PC and Mac systems so it's much easier for various games to enjoy. Give it a go by clicking the image or download link.

Snakes of Avalon is a dark game that's all about "alcohol incapacitation and people obsessed with murdering their other half." Playing the game means you have to be prepared for a lot of weirdness. In the game, you play Jack; a hobo looking alcoholic who hears talking fishes and zombies. He overhears a woman and his lover plotting murder against her husband. Jack decides he won't accept it and tried to stop them. The game features 90 minutes of surreal gameplay and storyline. If you play this game, keep in mind that the aftereffects might last longer after you're done. It's designed and coded by, Igor Hardy and Alex vand der Wijst while Thomas Regin is credited for creating the soundtrack. Give it a go.

If you love buccaneers or pirates, then you'll adore Dubloon. Created by Banov, the game is a huge point and click adventure. Don't be misled by the point and click gameplay though, because this one actually plays like a true blue RPG. You'll have items to collect and you can explore your world. Like any RPG, whenever you encounter an enemy you are transported into a different fighting scene accompanied with your stats and all. The premise is a bit typical. You're an ordinary person that happens upon a big treasure, so you go ahead and gather up a crew to make the treasure your own.
