Pocket Mortys from Adult Swim is a mobile RPG based on the popular cartoon. If you’re not familiar with the show, it’s about a scientist named Rick and his grandson Morty who embark on a series of adventures (think Back to the Future). If you’re familiar with the cartoons you’re going to love this game, and even if you’re not, it’s still worth a look.

Into the Dim

Into the Dim is a retro turn based RPG dungeon crawler, but game developer Happymagenta has taken the retro elements to another level. It has grayscale visuals and the music and audio sound exactly like what you’d get with an old Game Boy game, but in spite of this, Into the Dim is actually a lot of fun and challenging.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes from Electronic Arts is a turn-based RPG that lets you play characters from the Star Wars universe including Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Darth Vader, and the newer ones from The Force Awakens like Kylo Ren, Finn and Rey. You won’t get them immediately of course, as they’ll become available the longer you play, but there are other reasons to play this.

Star Wars Uprising

Star Wars Uprising is a role playing game from Kabam, and has many of the elements you’d expect from an RPG game with elements of Star Wars. The connection to the movie franchise is going to please fans, but even if you’re not a big movie fan, you’ll enjoy it as an action RPG title.

Brave Frontier

Brave Frontier takes elements of the classic RPG and brings them to the Android and iOS. Developed by Gumi Inc, the game incorporates classic RPG along with elements of card collecting, and the result is a satisfying game that that will please fans of retro games and new gamers alike.

Monster Legacy

Monster Legacy is a game that will pit you against cute but powerful monsters, and while it looks like it’s for kids, it’s pretty challenging even for seasoned button bashers. What’s even more interesting is that the developer, Outplay Entertainment, has opted for a 100% free approach, as you can complete the game without spending any money, though the option is there.

War of Dragons

War of Dragons from game developer FireMocha is a puzzle RPG that requires tactics and skills to win. You have to swap and match magical rune stones in order to save mankind. The game, which requires an Internet connection to play, takes components from the classic match 3 puzzle and adds a layer of RPG, so it’s a unique playing experience.
