Guantanamo naval base, 'Gitmo', covers forty five square miles of Cuba inside an area under a controversial 'permanent lease' to the United States. Since 2002, the base has become synonymous with its detainment facilities for suspected terrorists. Although Barack Obama has given orders for the detention camp to be closed, the facilities remain open to this day.
David Miller's quiet, powerful film is the result of three days the filmmaker spent touring the camps in May 2008 as part of a small group of media representatives allowed there.

It follows the lives of a group of Netscape engineers in Silicon Valley as they struggle to save their company from impending financial doom. The film shows them spending sleepless night after sleepless night, forsaking their family and friends while they labor to release the open-source code of Mozilla, which one of today's most popular browsers, Firefox, is based on. Netscape was also on the verge of being taken over by AOL, a company that even geeks do not find cool.

"NWPUNKROCK" is a indie documentary showcasing the last 30 plus years of punk in the northwest - from Vancouver, BC to Olympia, Wa and Seattle. It's not an expensive, full blown production, but rather a labor of love and passion for punk music that deserves some recognition. As Dave, the films producer says, it is not an attempt to showcase every band to ever exist, but show a cross section of a little bit of every era. You will find lots of interesting interviews from bands and musicians separated by plenty of rare concert footage - it is a very raw look at the history of punk in the northwest.
