Radial Plus

Radial Plus is a unique little action game that was initially created for the Something Awful Game Dev Challenge. Although it may look like a typical arena shooter there is one cool twist with Radial Plus' gameplay. Instead of directly hitting the enemy to take them out, you would need to find a suitable angle and fire away before you can actually cause damage to the enemy ship. It's amazing how one little shift in game rules can affect the entire game. This minor change in gameplay results in a creative and challenging game that requires you to think ahead of where your next shot will go. Apart from this, the game is quite enthralling both in sound as well as in graphics. It's this little detail that makes this game worthy of your time.

The Nu Revolution Camp: Super Hero Theme Music Vol 1

What do you get when four of the best indie/underground artists form a crew and release a mix? Well, you get an indie hiphop supergroup. The Nu Revolution Camp, headed by FrostClick resident, Wordsmith, along with Kontact, Black Knight and White Folkz take underground hip hop to an entirely new level. Super Hero Theme Music Vol 1 is the first of several mixes from this talented crew. Just like superhero's, they breeze through rhymes like Superman sees through lead and drop beats like Batman knows Gotham City. It's definitely a fun album worth checking out. It's all about cool beats, amazingly tight words and definitely plenty of fun.

My Bubba & Mi: How it’s done in Italy

Probably one of the best folk record released for the year. The beautiful sound of My Bubba & Mi originate from three lovely ladies from Denmark. All three of them carry their instruments and create some of the loveliest, melodic, folk tracks you will ever hear. It might sound like an overstatement, but if you adore relaxing folk music, then this is a must have record. By coincidence or fate, My Bubba and Mia, became roommates in Copenhagen. They discovered each other's passion for music as they spent the many months together. Sharing laughters, singing and practicing. An invitation to head for Italy knocked on their doors; soon enough the girls found themselves heading home with a record on hand. Truly a wonderful album to listen to. It's hard to imagine why this is being offered for free but I'm not complaining. Awesome download right here.

Neon Plat2

NeonPlat2 is a colorful and slightly psychedelic platformer. Created by Jayenkai, it's actually an update from last year's version. This one does feel brand new though, with great graphics and much more coherent gameplay. They've also incorporated a co-op version so you and your friends can easily play at the same time. In the game, you find yourself bouncing, or better yet, falling off platforms that are floating through space. You can only complete a level if you "fall" and color all of the white \platforms. Along the way, you collect balls, take down enemies and even collect energy balls. The game can be fun and addicting to play. It also carries some serious HD graphics which add to the already enjoyable gameplay.

Music That Matters: KEXP

I fell in love with the series nearly two years ago during one of my lovely commutes to work for one simple reason - it brings you the most amazing variety of music just in time when you can no longer listen to the same songs you had on your iPod since 2000. Each podcast comes with a theme and a selection of sounds (from nearly every genre imaginable, with a slightly greater love for alternative and indie rock) put together by some of the greatest DJs from Northwest.

Octodad

Octodad is cool new game that features an octopus acting like a human being. The game's theme focuses on destruction, deception and even fatherhood. Now, how those three things actually make for a good game. It's up to you to find out. One thing's for sure though, even though there are some really weird storylines going on. The game is quite fun to play. The game was created by several students at DePaul University in Chicago. It was started last June and developed and prepped to serve as an entry for the Independent Games Festival Student Showcase at the 2011 Game Developers Conference. This journal-style, third person game is filled with funny moments, odd game controls and lots of destruction. Definitely a game worth trying out.

Tense Kids: Oh, Idaho!

Oh, Idaho! is a sweet and eclectic sounding compilation by three teens from Lexington, KY. Filled with 7 easy to listen and very diverse indie pop/rock, this debut compilation is a great listen. It features a great mix of indie pop vocals, quirky sounding vocals and pretty cool and catchy rhythm. Tense Kids is made up of Alex John and Joe Harbison. They're joined together by Eric Myers, Kyle Randall, Allen Shariaty, Dimitri Lozovoy and Aaron Graham. The group formed in late 2008 and spearheaded by Harbison, who also has several albums under his name. His songs are available for download here.
