Mario

FallOver!

Playing FallOver! for the first time might seem as if the game is broken. However, it's actually not. The game is basically your typical Mario-esque platformer with a little twist; it has weird game physics. Instead of the typical run, jump, walk affair, your little character has trouble keeping his two feet firmly planted on the ground. He has to walk with tons of coins in his pocket when he collects them so he constantly topples and "falls over." This little twist is definitely enough to set apart the game from all other typical platformers. It's a bit short but otherwise pretty fun to play. Give it a go.

Replica Island

Replica Island is touted by many as "THE" Android game to have, that is if you haven't got it yet. The game is a free, open source game that's available for Android users. It features retro graphics that will definitely get any old-school fanboy lusting after it. Done in 2D and in the same vein as Megaman and Mario, the game is packed with entertainment and will definitely keep you busy for hours on end. The game was originally released back in March 2010. Now, it has garnered quite a following and has solidified its status as one of the most entertaining games in the Android market. There are 40 levels in the game so make sure to clear up a good portion of your afternoon before playing. Because trust me, this is addictive. Give it a go.

Eversion

Bright turquoise background? Check. Purple blocks? Check. Cute little characters? Check. Meet Eversion, even though it looks like another cutesy platformer game, try playing it and you might be in for a surprise. The game looks deceptively simple thanks to its bright, cheery graphics, but it is pretty difficult to beat and will pretty much mess with your brain. So, if you are in hard core game mode and miss the challenges of a Nintendo game. Eversion is the game to try out.

Obake

Obake is a cool platformer game that features unique and fun gameplay. It is a Japanese platformer game that has a similar gameplay to that of favorites, Mario and Kirby. It's also filled with the same charm and fun elements contained in both games. Enjoy over 50 levels as you play the titular "Obake" or basically, a ghost. Fight and possess more than 20 different enemies and have an excellent time.
