Aptana has support for a wide array of project types such as PyDev, Titanium, .Net, Rails, Ruby, Php and many more. Once you have chosen a project, you’ll have to fill in the required fields, after which it will appear in the App Explorer. As long as you’re editing, a Content Assist will appear showing what properties and methods are available for it.
Modern web applications need more than just FTP, and so Aptana Studio provides support for Heroku, Engine Yard and Capistrano besides FTPS, SFTP and FTP. In addition Aptana Studio comes with support for version control for five products including Perforce, CVS, Subversion and Git. In addition, there’s a Quick Diff that will be used for highlighting lines of code, perfect for tracking changes that you have made.
All of these features in Aptana Studio help you find any changes that you make. As far as open source IDE editors go, this is one of the best out there. The application, it should be noted, comes in two versions: as an Eclipse plugin or standalone. If you have Eclipse 3.5 you can download the plugin, or you can get the version for Windows.
