Former <em>The Voice<\/em> contestant <strong>Austin Ellis<\/strong> isn&#8217;t the one to back down, and he continues his professional musicianship with an eight-track acoustic EP entitled\u00a0<em>The New Vision<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-SWTSb4VhB0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t know what&#8217;s up with this shift from &#8216;voice&#8217; to &#8216;vision&#8217;, but the our homeboy keeps things fairly simple yet rich as he chooses to rely on pure guitar and voice alone, despite his readiness for a full production. [And we like it.]<\/p>\n<p>Austin conjures up a serenade with the starter, &#8220;Birthday Gift,&#8221; a narration of his encounter with a girl in Australia during his, umm, birthday. As he hits the following &#8220;Ocean,&#8221; listeners can already trace Jack Johnson and John Mayer&#8217;s profound influence, particularly on his\u00a0vocal stylings.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.noisetrade.com\/service\/widgetv2\/0796486e-ccd7-4322-8a76-0edeffca9b49\" width=\"300\" height=\"375\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re not complaining, of course, especially as\u00a0he comes to his own person with the staff\u00a0pick, &#8220;False Alarms,&#8221; which is just as original as it&#8217;s overwhelmingly familiar.<\/p>\n<p>Next Ed Sheeran, maybe?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Track listing:<\/strong><br \/>\n1.
