Tonepad provides ready-to-go effects and amplifier for the do-it-yourself musician. Create tunes from your phone and share them.

Whether you have tried composing before or not, TonePad from LoftLab is a free and simple music application that will get you tinkering tunes in no time.

Simply press buttons in a random fashion and create a synthesised tune – whether it be any good or not, is up to.

If you create something great, you can also upload it to a central base of tunes to share it with others – when you do so you’ll be given a unique code that your friends can use to access your creation. Of course, you can download the work of others. Unfortunately, to use your new tune as a ringtone, you’ll have to upgrade to another TonePad product.

TonePad has computer-like feel and look with “File” and “Edit” which kind of gives your creation some meat and cred. It feels and sounds better than a ringtone.

You’ll also notice the grid which is the key look and guide to the app. You can change the colours of the grid if you like.

Tonepad is a great way to whittle away the time, and if you strike something good, you may find yourself getting a little obsessed all while creating more and more awesome tunes. Personally I was surprised by my own creativity. Okay, I’m not Goyte, yet.
