POF from Plenty of Fish is a dating app, and while it’s not the first of its kind, POF does have more users than other dating apps so the chances of finding someone you like are higher here. And though there is a paid subscription service, the free services offered are more than enough to satisfy your needs and possibly find you that special someone.

Once you download and installed the app you have to answer a basic questionnaire similar to those on other dating sites. Essentially these questions will be used to give others some information about you, your likes, dislikes, what you’re looking for, interested in, etc.

The interface is intuitive to say the least: At the top of the screen are tabs for Messages, Sent Messages, Meet Me and They Said Yes, all of which are self explanatory. The key to getting a good match of course, is to provide interesting information about yourself.

POF also lets you choose from specific types of potential matches such as adventurer, free spirited, tree hugger and so on. This works both ways of course as you need to provide info like your longest relationship and so on. If you’re not sure what to write, the POF app –and website- offers tips so you can highlight your best features.

POF also has search function so you can look for individuals that fit your specific criteria, and if you want you can turn the location function on so you can search for those within 500 meters of you, and don’t worry as your location is never given to any of the POF members.
