I came across Los Sundayers searching Jamendo for Latin music and I found myself listening to the whole album with great pleasure. One of the albums reviewers, nanito, wrote they've done "a great work indeed blending reggae, dub and ska with elegant cuts and tempo switching, all wrapped around a quite colorful interpretation" and I couldn't agree more. Every track is a bit different with its own distinct feel, but they are all dynamic, full of energy and fun - it must be a great experience to see this group perform live.

Dynamoe is quite a unique electronica band from Denmark. They've met almost by accident in 1997, when both Giovanni Campagna and Dennis Lee were signed by the same label. After a long chat, they've discovered they have so many ideas in common that working together was almost a given... They've recorded three singles under a Belgian label R&S Records and ultimately released their first record "Jump Start" in 2001 under sub label Apollo. Both the singles and the album were very well reviewed by the press and the music industry and the duo, with their supporting musicians, went immediately back to work. They had their second album, "Coming Home", ready to press in December of 2003. "In the Wake of Time" is the band's third full album. All are available for donation/free download at www.dynamoe.com.

D3Zs is a group of hip-hop artists from Canada and Japan. Having met at a show in Kyoto, the artists worked on a number of projects, one being this free online album released by the exciting new hip-hop net label, Random Flow.
Doin’ The Raps (part 1) is a bit of a revelation. The beats are complex but riveting. The rap is just as enthralling. I especially like the Japanese rapping by Highsnow. I have no idea what he is saying but I love the way he says it. Canadian rapper Cheese is also quite capable at delivering the words along with the beat. I especially like the manic “Checked” and the more grooving “Childhood Memories”. In a slower vein, check out “Crazy From The Head” and “Imagination”.

The LA-based "one-man band" State Shirt's newest album, This is Old, is one of the best indietronic rock album's I've heard in a long time. Coming across this album by accident while looking for bands like Brad Sucks, it has quickly become one of my favorites this year with heavy rotation on my iPod. Ethan Tufts (vocals, drums, guitar, overall cool guy), demonstrates the power of well done loops to showcase his mellow rock tunes that sound far from anything recycled.

Inkscape is a great free & open source alternative to expensive Adobe & Corel programs. It has similar capabilities to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw or Xara X, using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format. If you've ever thought about learning graphic design on your own, Inkscape is the program to have. It not only has a full range professional features, but it's extensive user documentation & multitude of tutorials available online will never let you get lost.

Friends of the Stars is a Country/Folk band from Birmingham, UK that's been together for more than 8 years now. They've released a couple of singles and brushed by some major British labels under their previous names - Buick 6 and The Toques, but their first full album - "Lighting & Electrical" - was proudly recorded and released as "Friends of the Stars". Everybody in FOTS - Craig Hamilton, Anna Russell and Cam Do-cherty - share the singing and songwriting duties and now everybody is working together on the second album.
