If there are three words to encapsulate Divinity, that would be elegant, ambient, and atmosphere.

Project Divinity‘s 2006 release is a collection of the group’s published tunes. Tightly packed with fifteen tracks and with currently 70,000 plus downloads in Jamendo, this album is an epitome of spellbinding, psychedelic music.

Opening track Ethereal Awakening delivers a hint of nostalgia as dark ambient tunes flow smoothly with fleeting chimes and piano keys. Forever and Ever follows up with the same musical aesthetic. The band’s distinct taste and subtle selection for instruments gives this track that much needed flawlessness.

Playing darker soundscapes, Gathering Dusk building thunder in our hearts. The low, reverberating tunes slowly assembling into a jungle of static sounds paint an eerily beautiful image. Little People leans more on the eclectic department as tribal drums and rhythmic beats creates a beautiful contrast with the spacey atmosphere.

Closing the album is Hollow City, a light ambient piece that serves the right amount of texture with roughly-cut guitars and a slow, sexy melody.

Divinity functions as an easy-escape to those topsy-turvy days. Project Divinity has concocted an album that’s easily digestible, even after repeats.
