Asphalt 8 Airborne from Gameloft is one of the best racers on the iOS, period. This series has been around since 2004, and this release is the best yet with new graphics, sound and plenty of stunts you can perform thanks to a revamped physics engine. Now you can throw caution to the wind and do those twists, and you will see your ride fly off ramps.

There are a lot of nice things you can say about Asphalt 8; at the top would be the drop dead gorgeous graphics, and 47 great cars to choose from, all licensed. Each of these cars is stunningly rendered, and the nine courses, especially Tokyo and Nevada, are a feast for the eyes.

In addition to the graphics, Asphalt 8 features licensed music from Crystal Method and Bloc Party, so there’s something for your ears as well. But at the heart of Asphalt 8 is racing, and it delivers. The controls are easy to grasp, with drifting very easy to learn. The game simply looks great when you race, and the sight of total wreckage is just plain cool.

Asphalt 8 features slow mo action, turbo boosting past other cars. The default control scheme works just fine by the way. But if you want to change it you can do so as there are other set up configurations available. The game also has a number of other features like multiplayer, multiple racing modes and more. Bottom line: if you love racing games then don’t miss out on this one.
