Italy-based band Modern Pitch crafts some indie alt rock to get you through the day. Eye Of The Storm, released in June 2014, features elements bass, drum, and indie pop to elevate your rock experience.

Modern Pitch is Federico Aguzzi (guitar/lead vocals), Matteo Giulioni (lead guitar, vocals), Federico Panaroni (bass/vocals) and Nicola Tomassoni (drums).

First stop is title track Eye Of The Storm, a textured piece that showcases waves of guitar riffs that stretches along crisp, fresh-sounding vocals. The slow rock piece perfectly balances space and edge, transporting the listeners into a state between head banging and swaying.

Boys, Girls, Toys & Words follows with a more evident play on indie pop. Get lost in rhythmic drums and surf rock-tinged guitars as this song plays on the background. While All Your Body Moving plays in an interesting level of musicality, where bass and drum beats are tempod well to fit the effortless punchy vocals.

Closing the album is Our World, a stripped down rock piece that mixes earthly vocals with steady flowing beats and guitar play. The kick of the song comes in the middle where a reggae-sounding arrangement morphs with the track’s chill rock backbone, creating a wonderful interplay between genres.

All in all, Eye of the Storm by Modern Pitch is a well-crafted collection that’s packed with flavor, punch, and rawness that appeal to a lot of rock alt lovers.
