The latest release from Curly Jefferson and His Orchestra perfectly blends the sounds from the old vinyl classics with the love of hip-hop, jazz, and downbeat. Available for a free download from the equally amazing Dedpop Netlabel, the album will certainly be a great addition to any music lover’s library.

One thing is for sure. Physicists at the Hong Kong University of Technology and Science might have proven that no machine will ever allow us to travel through time, however, what they did forget about is music – so sit back and enjoy the “Ooh La La!” ride into the smokey nightclubs of New York of the 1930s and 40s.

There is not much information about Curly Jefferson and His Orchestra out there. What we know, however, is that the love for “dusting off the sleeves of old vinyl” in the hometown of Southport, England and the effortless mixing of the sounds of the past with the present quickly became the artist’s staple.

Ooh La La!! is not the first release by the artist either. In fact, if you decide that you truly like this very unique and reminiscent of the good old days style of music, I would strongly advise you to head to Dedpop Netlabel and download the Extended Play, Curly’s first and equally amazing album with just a little bit more jazzy overtone.

Despite hearing both releases, however, it is Ooh La La!! that will forever hold a special place in my music player.

Blame Me Boy by Curly Jefferson Music

The album begins with what became my very favorite track in the matter of seconds. Blame Me Boy is a very special song indeed; not only does it perfect job of melting together hip-hop beats, jazz, with the old orchestra feel but it does it all while bringing back to life one of the Hollywood classics “Put the Blame on Meme” from the movie Gilda. Ooh La La!, the album’s title track, together with a seductive Scantily clad, are also worth checking out.
