What’s a smartphone like without a ringtone of your favorite song? Using an entire song as a ringtone takes too much space though, so why not just some parts of the tune instead? That’s what the Ringdroid app does, allowing you to use your favorite parts of a song as a ringtone, and it’s pretty easy to use as well.

Once the app has been downloaded and installed, you are going to see a list of all the mp3 files in your Android device. Simply tap the song you want to use and you’re going to see a volume unit meter screen.

Press and drag the slider on the left to move the entire section of the tune forward or backward, and then you drag the slider on the right to set the length of the song. Once you have made the selection, tap the Play button and the part you selected will play. You can also tap any section of the volume unit meter if you want the playing jump started.

If you are satisfied with the selection press the Save button and you can then set it as a contact or the default ringtone of your mobile device. As you can see the process is straightforward and just as important, the Ringdroid app is only 365 kb, way smaller than other music apps today.

One of the ways to distinguish your Android device from the others is the ringtone, and with this app that is exactly what you get. It is very easy to use and convenient as well, making a nice add on to your Android apps.
