Boom Beach is a base building multiplayer game that has similarities to Clash of Clans, the previous game from developer Supercell. However, Boom Beach is not just another clone and actually has many other features that set it apart from other games in the genre and improves on elements found in other titles.
In Boom Beach you’re given a base that you can build upon and defend against your enemies. The attacks from your enemies occur frequently so you can’t afford to take things easy. However you won’t be helpless since you have lots of defensive capabilities such as mines, mortars and sniper bases among others.
The inclusion of mines in Boom Beach adds a nice strategic touch to the game. You can place them anywhere you want and in whatever order. By using those mines properly you’ll be able to take out the opposing camp before they get any nearer. But Boom Beach isn’t just about defense though as you also need to liberate and conquer at various points in the game.
In fact, attacking is what makes Boom Beach a lot of fun, but you can’t lose focus on building as that’s integral to the game. Once the fighting starts you better be prepared as things can get pretty frenetic. You cannot tell your troops to go to a specific direction, but you can use flares to encourage them to head to a general direction. Boom Beach is a great base building game, and it’s good to see that you can use a wide range of weapons.
