Jable’s Adventure

Developer Jason "Jajitsu" Boyer has come up with one of the most entertaining, not to mention very funny little platformer called Jable's Adventure. It's about a kid who has a squid on his head. The squid suddenly shows up one day and proclaims Jabel to be the hero. Meanwhile, Jabel is curious about this "hero" thing and decides to go along. He then sets off  in these adventures where he bother's mermaids, shoots bears and other weird creatures. This fun game contains amazing graphics that  you didn't even think was possible in pixel art. Even better is that the game contains an awesome soundtrack (which you can download separately) as well as great gameplay. It's a bit short at under an hour, depending on your speed, but it's definitely a fun play. So if you have nothing better to do, have a go at playing this highly entertaining platformer.

Lovecraft Game

For those of you who love Lovecraft, maybe the total randomness and weirdness of his ideas, then you might enjoy this Lovecraft Game. Before delving any further, let me just tell you that this game is basically unfinished. It's pretty much playable but the ending is a bit abrupt. However, like any game expected from Cactus, you get a great game with cool graphics; definitely enough to tune into this game even for a bit.

Crack Attack

If you want to pass the time playing puzzles, then try out Crack Attack! It's a game similar to that of Tetris and Columns. The gameplay is actually pretty easy but at the same time is also provides enough of a challenge to make it fun. If you are looking for something to pass the time. The main objective of the game is simple enough. Line up at least 3 similar colored blocks together and they disappear. Of course, it has personal quirks and challenges to keep you on your toes while having fun. So why not check it out?

Little Fighter 2

Don't you just love it when little guys start fighting? Well, if you have been looking for a fun game with "chibi" or little characters, then Little Fighter 2 is the right game for you. Little Fighter has definitely climbed its way to the top of the freeware games list as a fast paced street fighting style game. The game lets you play against bots or lets you go on a melee with another player. The game is definitely not difficult to learn. You can easily customize the controls to whatever is most comfortable for you. Despite its simple gameplay and cute graphics, Little Fighter 2 is a very addicting game.

Frets on Fire

Frets on Fire was created as an entry to the Assembly 2006 Game Development Competition by Unreal Voodoo and it placed first in the competition. The game tests your musical skills and the speed of your fingers in a similar way to the very popular Guitar Hero games do, but instead of forcing you to buy the guitar controllers, the game & the console, it lets you play your favorite tunes free using your keyboard and your home computer (and it is available for PC, Mac & Linux). Of course if you would like to, you can also use the guitar controllers or generic joysticks.

Cube

This is an oldy-but-goodie. Cube was first released in singleplayer mode in January 2002 and had multiple updates all the way up to 2005. The game and its engine (which also called Cube) were developed by Wouter van Oortmerssen, a Dutch computer programmer. The game was always very well reviewed and it even received an award for "Best Free 3D Action Game" in 2003. It runs on almost all operating systems, it features both singleplayer and multiplayer gameplaya and even has a build-in level editor.
