LA DJ, SoUnD WaVeS (Michael Martinez) might not be a household name just yet but he can create catchy tunes worth churning out over the dancefloor. SoUnD WaVeS started DJ'ing back in 1999 where he used the moniker, DJ Brownsugar. Combining his skillful mixes along with this personal artwork, he creates a lush wall of sound with a nice artistic appeal. Initially inspired after seeing Daft Punk live, he has pursued creating music that triggers "a chain reaction of body movement, which then evolves into dancing. "

Two Suns: Dream Familiar

Two Suns is a personal project by Jake Davidson and showcases the artists' varied musical influences. From electronic ambient sounds to acoustic favorites, the 10-track compilation pulls out the stops when it comes to providing good music. Gathering influences from different genres and musicians as varied as Nine Inch Nails, Sufjan Stevens, Pink Floyd and Bright Eyes, it's easy to expect a hodge of sound to greet you. Dream Familiar is his latest release. Celebrating diversity and defying genre labels, the album is a beautiful example of what happens when you just create music you love without bothering to think about labels.

Gumbel: Pocket Carnivalé EP

Shunning conventions, Gumbel, a self-taught artist, is an interdisciplinary musician that weaves together various sounds to create his own musical journey. Pocket Carnivalé is the fifth release from the artist. It serves as a mini EP combining beautiful pockets of instruments and colorful little electronic sounds.

YPL: Garbage Collection

If you have a soft spot for poppy Japanese songs, then you just might have found a best friend in Garbage Collection by ypl. Contrary to the album title, this is nowhere near garbage and actually resembles an upbeat and cutesy Japanese pop fest. Filled with gorgeous synths, rhythms and electro girly vocals, you'll feel right at home. Not much is known about the musician but the record speaks for itself. It won't be surprising to find this on anyone's "favorite music" roster at all.

Killed By A Word: Kids With No Life Manuals

Hassen Daoues has been around the industry for awhile. He's released several singles/compilations under different pseudonyms like Anagramist and A Textura From Heaven. Today, he's back with a different moniker; Killed By A Word. This time he brings in tow his latest compilation, Kids With No Life Manuals. More experimental, the Tunisian artist describes it as a collection of tracks that focuses on the study of textures and samples.

Tracing Arcs: Wasteland

Here is yet another outstanding album from one of the finest trip-hop acts in the industry. Tracing Arcs, founded in the mid ’90s, gives us Wasteland. In this ten-track collection, musicians Fran Kapelle (lead vocal/backing vocals/lyrics) and Paul H. Addie (keyboards/programming/guitars) treats the listeners with a premium blend of jazz, downtempo beats, and some mellow electronic. The album also features special performances by Violet M. Williams (backing vocals) and Phil Brammer (guitar).

Spazzkid: Desire 願う

Indie pop introduces a hip new face in Desire, the latest musical offering from Spazzkid. After a one-year hiatus, the LA-based electronic artist treats us with eight glittering, j-pop influenced tracks.

Kyler England: Noisetrade Sampler

Kyler England walks down new territories in this new Noisterade sampler that features ten tracks of tasteful pop electronica. Based in Los Angeles, CA, singer-songwriter Kyler is a member of the band The Rescues. Kyler’s nuanced songwriting and diverse sonic palate made her tracks easy favorites for TV shows including Vampire Diaries, One Tree Hill, Switched at Birth, the feature film Lucky Ones, to name a few. She also has toured opening for Sting, Annie Lennox, and Kelly Clarkson.
