Kony 2012

Since March 5, Kony 2012 got over 39 million views on YouTube only - the number that by the time you will be reading this post might as well have doubled already. The tweets are pouring in, Facebook group rose to millions, and people finally started to talk. The video might not be a traditional documentary per se but a loud call for action to stop Joseph Kony, an Ugandan querilla group leader - head of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), and one of the most vicious criminals in the world with arrest warrant issued by International Criminal Court (ICC) itself all the way back in 2005.

Sweetheart: Map Of The Human Heart

Contrary to their name, Sweetheart isn't a band that does mushy, lovey-dovey music. Instead, what you'll hear when you put on their record is a mix of hipster, new wave music that's filled with jangly guitars and shouty vocals. If you thought The Strokes on first listen, well it really shouldn't be a surprise since the band does list them as among their influences. The group is made up of Canadian quartet, Matthew, Marty, Sammy, and Weezee. Map of the Human Heart is their debut record and it's filled with upbeat cuts that deal with various relationship issues.

Bump

Very recently NFC has made a stir in the world of smartphones by boasting of sharing data wirelessly without any clicks. It is like magic, whereas two devices just need to be bumped against each other and Voila! the content is transferred. Well, every handset does not have NFC chips, so to get the cool quotient on your Android and iOS, it is time to download Bump. Brought to life by Bump Technologies, Inc., a Top Developer on the Android Market, the team has created a masterpiece in the form of the Bump app and have truly brought about the feeling of owning an NFC enabled device to all non-NFC users.

Arrange: Plantation

Plantation embraces our sentimental tears and wounds, growing it into a teeming garden of emotional indulgence. This self-released solo project by Arrange, better known as Malcom Lacey, screams post-modernism all throughout due to the different approach on its structure-- the album in itself is a sole piece slowly progressing with each track. Now, how clever can that get?

Robert Louis Stevenson: The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Devour on the best Victorian horror story with The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, a book originally written by Robert Louis Stevenson as a chilling shocker that was soon burned and rewritten as the complex tale it is today. The story revolves around a mid-mannered Dr. Jekyll who curiously passes all his riches to a certain Mr. Hyde, an unpleasant character that reeks of darkness and evil. As bizarre incidents unfold in the doctor's life, Hyde's true identity is revealed.

The Susan Constant: Rayonnement

The boys of The Susan Constant dub themselves as a band who are "committed to writing hooky and insightful indie rock for local consumption, we write radio songs for people who don't listen to the radio." True enough, the five-piece stay true to their commitment and create songs that are radio-friendly and easy to listen to. Their sound is filled with indie rock goodness along with a touch of pop. This is a debut album for the band. It's released under Tour de Stade Records but you can grab the free digital download over at BandCamp.

There are times when Blackberry users complain on being the most ignored platform, as far as games and fun apps go. Guerre: Darker My Love

Guerre is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Lavurn Lee. He's originally from Toronto but currently based in Australia. Even though he started out creating music with a hushed folk sound, Guerre's sound has evolved into a sophisticated mix of ambient electronic pop with a touch of soul. This debut EP from the artist strings together a lush set of tracks that tackle love, sex, guilt and exudes a somewhat silent remorse. It's moody, eclectic pop in a really good way.
