Sigmafly: Tetrachrome EP

Ever since their start, Cut Records has become a musical haven for anybody looking awesome electronic ambient releases. The best part is that each of their releases is available as a free download or exchange the download for a tweet. It's really a great treat to have. This time around, they're featuring Sigmafly's first release under the label, Tetrachrome EP. Filled with 7 moody electronic singles; it mixes atmospheric beats with carefully chosen samples. Sigmafly is the moniker for Manchester-based Tom Holmes. For this compilation, he incorporates various aesthetics, even borrowing from Cut artists like Great Skies to create this stunning piece that should be worth checking out.

Disaster Alert

Disaster Alert is for all the globe-trotters currently roaming the world, those simply planning their next big adventure, or people whose families are scattered all across the globe. The application comes with some serious real-time updates of the present disaster happenings and allows for additional hazard information to be viewed and shared with friends and family. Developed by Pacific Disaster Center, the app is a masterpiece and will really keep people more vigilant and aware. It is not only accurate, but the sense of urgency is very well integrated and takes the app to the next level.

JoJo: Can’t Take That Away From Me

The once young JoJo is now a woman and she proves it in her beautifully composed and executed album, Can’t Take That Away From Me. Exclusively released last September 2010 to Rap-Up.com, this free mixtape is a prelude to the singer’s third album formerly entitled All I Want Is Everything. The said album was then released as Jumping Trains under BlackGround records due to a misunderstanding with the songbird’s former record label.

Glow Hockey

Casual gaming is starting to love the drivers seat within the Android and iOS ecosystem and this time around it is Glow Hockey that shines. The game is a very smart adaption of Air Hockey with a visually appealing glow boards and pucks. Developed by Natenai Ariyatrakool, the game is fast-paced and offers a variety of gameplay according to the players choice.

The Julys

If you're in the mood for some uptempo indie rock, listening to the The Julys is a good place to start. According to their facebook bio, the band started off "as two young men coping with the loss of their respective harpy women." They've certainly come a long way since then. Now, the band is a quartet that creates some really good and catchy indie rock mixes. Instead of bitter, heart wrenching lyrics; the band takes on a feel-good disposition; filling their sound with bouncy beats, hipster style guitars and some wild Little Richard-style singing.

This piece of software helps in identifying a song by just listening to a part of it. Shazam is one of the most ideal music identifying apps over multiple platforms. Developed by Shazam Entertainment Ltd., the quality is assured and so are the future updates to the app. Music buffs who just love hearing the songs on the radio and need to download in an easy way, should have Shazam installed on their devices.

Big Wilson River: Octopus Album

At first listen Big Wilson River’s Octopus Album packs a jarring punch. After adjusting to a somewhat stylistically predictable album, which is best described as a jerky and frantic folk/rock hybrid, a zealous melody and original narrative begins to merge. Powerful instrumentals are aided by forceful lead singer Darrin Bradbury who at times dominates the vocals with a strained shout. Despite, he is paired with Emma McLaughlin who has a soft yet strong voice, something similar to the enticing and hypnotic effect of Adele.

Speed Forge 3D

This one is for all Android users with a love for speed running through their veins; so yes, if speed is what you need than Speed Forge 3D might just be for you. Developed by RatSquare for which the title is the first one to be released on the platform, it seems they have done quite a decent job. Speed Forge takes place on the planet Mars in the year 2142 with a good dose of crime taking place all around. Also, due to the heavy growth of industries, there has been an increase of the number of colonies and inhabitants, and special vehicles with heavy-duty armor has been used to help miners in crushing rocks with explosives.
