Boca Chica

Boca Chica is definitely a dynamic band. Why dynamic? It had more than 40 different members since it's inception (currently including Hallie Pritts, Susanna Meyer, J. Vega, Ricky Moslen, James Hart, and Kraig Decker). Yet it's catchy lyrics and instrumentation, which take us on a unforgettable journey into the land of modern indie pop, have placed the band among the definite favorites in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and brought in many new fans from the infinite lands of the Internet. Their latest 3-track release with a EardrumsPop Netlabel is a beautiful collection of sounds for all those warm relaxing evenings ahead.

John Praw: John Praw

Wisconsin based ambient musician, John Praw, creates a stunning work of ambient sounds that swirls and sweeps you away with its moody soundscape. This self-titled release is a compilation of tracks that were written and recorded between 2006 to 2011. This album is actually available for sale but you can grab the download as long you credit back to the site and the artist, of course. His first debut record is an amazing mixture of sounds that reflect a dark, gloomy mood. Despite the gloom, it's a beautiful piece that's should be worth a listen.

FallOver!

Playing FallOver! for the first time might seem as if the game is broken. However, it's actually not. The game is basically your typical Mario-esque platformer with a little twist; it has weird game physics. Instead of the typical run, jump, walk affair, your little character has trouble keeping his two feet firmly planted on the ground. He has to walk with tons of coins in his pocket when he collects them so he constantly topples and "falls over." This little twist is definitely enough to set apart the game from all other typical platformers. It's a bit short but otherwise pretty fun to play. Give it a go.

Equals Conquest: Rummager

With such a big sound, you would think that Equals Conquest was at least a 3 or 4 man band. The fact is, there's only two of them hitting all the instruments, writing, singing and mixing the tracks. The band is made up of I.m.i.x. Shish and Mike Mollura both former members of the Reading, PA hardcore punk band, Afterglow. What initially started as a solo effort for I.m.i.x. Shish, the band quickly become a collaboration; resulting in a sonic soundscape of noise, rock and a whole hodge podge of sound. If you enjoy unusual music, ones that are a bit difficult to classify as belonging to any particular genre; then this might be the album for you. Give it a try.

Singlehandedly (Jacob Pavone)

Another Ludlum Dare entry, Singlehandedly is a cool platformer that was done in the vein of Megaman. Ludlum Dare is a game challenge where participants are tasked to create games for a set period of time. This whole event was started back in April 2002 by Geoff Howland. Created by Jacob Pavone, Singlehandedly, lets you play as a young hero with a perpetual laser gun seemingly strapped to his hand. You can blast away enemies and overcome obstacles that come your way. The game is simple but definitely quite fun to play. If you adore platform games and love the Megaman series, then this game would definitely please you

Fauve! Gegen A Rhino

Fauve! Gegen A Rhino is an experimental electronic, noise band. Their sound is a mixture of unusual sounds, guitar distortions, weird chimes and occasional haunting/cryptic vocals. This is the second official release from the three piece crew. Made up of Andrea, Matteo and Riccardo; this eclectic, electronic noise rock trio have members that are all in their early 20s. Despite the young age, they create a sound that is unique and encompasses a multitude of genres. If you love electronic pop or pretty much anything that can be characterized as an odd combination of sound, noise, bits and bobs; take a listen.

Life Fortress Volcabamba

Life Fortress Volcabamba is an interesting game that you might want to look into. Apart from the tongue twister title, the game offers a cool gameplay and a fun classic style. Created using a popular Japanese programming language called, Hot Soup Processor (HSP,) it showcases a classic feel similar to the MSX games back in the day. The shooter game features six levels that will give you quite a challenge. Hence, if you have a good amount of spare time and willing to take on a semi-hardcore Japanese game, then this is one to check out.

Straight from the heart of Madrid, Spain comes a timeless sound of two beautifully intertwined vocal lines, mesmerizing melodies full of rich acoustic guitars, violin, keyboards, bass, added drums, and the magical softness that only comes with the best of indie music. Light Breaks Where No Sun Shines by Medelia is said to create a unique place somewhere halfway between the world of literature and the world of music.
