Blacanova – Madre EP

From Seville Spain, Blacanova plays an indie rock that is equal parts ambient and shoe gaze on their Madre EP.  The mark of indelible music is that it transforms boundaries.  The Spanish language vocals on this EP could be an impediment for those who don't understand Spanish, but the composition and beauty of the vocals make a common spoken language unnecessary. The guitars are both shimmering and haunting as they lay a groundwork for an album that reveals more with each play.  Manuel Begines, Pepe Fernández, José A. Pérez, Inés Olalla, Armando Jiménez y Paco Arenas make up the band.

Raccord Sniper

Raccord Sniper is an experimental new indie game that comes from the creator of Loop Raccord and UFO On Tape. The game is a cool shooter that lets you play as the Raccord Police. Your goal is to search for weird furniture or other items inside various apartments and to actually shoot them down. The game was developed by Nicolai Troshinsky and is definitely a cool take on the usual shooting game genre. Although the developer admits to not intentionally creating a series of games based on raccord, so far, he has done two games with the same subject on the main page. Raccord Sniper was done entirely from recycled pictures of the IKEA catalogue; definitely a neat little game worth your while.

IWBTG (I Wanna Be The Guy)

I Wanna Be The Guy or better known as IWBTG is not exactly a simple love story. Well, it is about a dude going on an adventure in order to become THE guy. It doesn't stop there, I'll tell you off the bat that it is extremely difficult. However, if you are a glutton for punishment and love being pushed around into complicated, near impossible feats; you'll probably hold this game close to your heart. Another thing to note is that if you are a hardcore NES or SNES fan, you'll be grinning from ear to ear when playing this game. IWBTG combines modded levels of your favorite NES games like Megaman, Battletoads and even Contra; creating a one-of-a-kind, hair-pulling experience. Definitely a hardcore game worth checking out whether you loved Nintendo or not.

Air Hockey Gold

Although it's been around for some time in the iPhone, Air Hockey Gold has just finally made it's way down to the iPad. The good thing is that it works and looks even better when played on the iPad rather than the iPhone. The game was initially developed by Acceleroto from 2008-2010. Air hockey has always been an age old favorite, whether it's played in some college game room or played using the latest gadgets. Air Hockey Gold for the iPad is nothing different. It features the same basic gameplay with some additional options to help make the game more interesting. Go ahead and give it a quick download. It's available for free download on the iTunes store.

Continental Breakfast: Seasons

Seasons by Continental Breakfast jangles on with catchy beats, a dirty New York post-hipster sound and lovely vocals. This compilation comes with 6, mostly upbeat, tracks. It was released back in December 16 2010 and features a strictly Brooklyn indie rock sound. Although the record feels like it was recorded in a basement or garage somewhere, this does add to the appeal of the album. It's like being in an underground rock club where all the cool people hang out. Infusing rock, alternative, garage and a bit of punk, these Brooklyn natives certainly have something up their sleeve. Crazy Over Goo

Crazy Over Goo is the brainchild of quirky and entertaining game developer, Banov. This little platformer lets you control a little yellow goo or ball that is in pursuit of his one and only. Although it's not exactly a sequel, it was made as a follow-up to the developer's Assassin Blue. The game is actually a simple point and click adventure that contains 50 or so levels of fun things that you need to do. It also offers a cool level editor as well as plenty of unlockables to enjoy. Crazy Over Goo was initially released back in 2009 and was first known as Yellow Goo Love. If you need something simple but definitely entertaining to play, then you're looking at that game. Give it a try by clicking the download link.

The Taxpayers: To Risk So Much For One Meal

Listening to The Taxpayers, means undergoing plenty of mixed emotions. From anger, to confusion, to doubt, relief, happiness, joy, and everything in between; it's like a rollercoaster of sound that makes you sick, but in a good kind of way. Mixing punk, ska, country, folk and so much more in between, To Risk So Much For One Meal, is filled with plenty of exciting cuts to check out. This is a follow-up record for this Portland, Oregon group and it seems they're still continually evolving their sound. Compared to their previous record, this one adds a little more punk rock to the mix; resulting in a louder, "angstier" but definitely more enjoyable record. Grab it right now and have a great time bouncing around to this one.
