9Lies “Behind It All” – Creative Commons licensed upbeat rock demo album

Calling out all rockers! Relive the era of 90's rock by listening to this modern day Indie Rock band called 9Lies – a great band with an interesting name. Their album, "Behind It All," was made available for digital download on July 23, 2007 and is licensed under Creative Commons. The album contains 3 demo songs that will surely make listeners rock like they never did before. The combination of strong 90’s beat and modern rock guitar riffs made this band stand out among the others. The familiarity of their sound is going to be their key to reach out to the old and new generation of rock lovers.

Jabberheads “Stories Collection” – a refreshing rock album from an experimental Ukrainian band

They may be from Ukraine, but that doesn’t mean they can only conquer their own country; Jabberheads are here to rule the airwaves with their album, “Stories Collection.” This album is amazingly beautiful. Packed with 10 Indie Rock tracks that you will surely love, whether or not you are a fan of the genre. Jabberheads does not only concentrate on the said genre, this album also exhibits some astonishing acoustic guitar play and body bouncing bass thud. You can say that they’re into some Acoustic and Reggae, but I think the synthesis of genres developed into only one thing, the “Jabberheads’ Rock.”

Keith Morris & The Crooked Numbers “Live Candy”

The neat thing about the net label Clinical Archives is that I never know quite what I am going to hear. After all, who would have thought that mixed in with all the avant-garde, electronica, and experimental music would be this very down-home country EP that reeks of dogwood, cicadas and Hank Williams. Live Candy gives us a very live and very authentic country honky-tonk experience that defines the terms “Alt-country” and “Americana”.

JPFM Band / Fox Band “Paris S.F.” – smooth jazz fusion

As the world continues to evolve, it isn't shocking that music also develops through time - and JPFM band and Fox band further proves that. Combining smooth jazz with hints of RnB, funk, trip-hop and lounge, Paris S.F. is not your typical instrumental smooth jazz compilation. Composed of 2 'faces,' Paris S.F. may not give you a long playtime, but it will definitely appeal to jazz, blues and jazz fusion lovers.

Earthman Embassy “Demonstrations” – laid-back rock from New Jersey

Another great band is slowly making their way to create a name in the industry. During the summer heat of 2007, Earthman Embassy, a band from New Jersey, USA, started creating demo songs in a well-known school called, “Anthony Vitale’s Original Music School.” Slowly, from one song, their compositions developed to two, then to three, until they have written and composed nine great songs that comprised their soft, but rocking, first album, “Demonstrations.”

Mental Killing Spree “Vae Victis” – free death-metal album under Creative Commons

I’ve got to tell you - that thing ain’t no blues. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve got an impression that death metal bands avoid Creative Commons and focus more on the good old underground zine-net and gigs ways of promoting their music... Two thumbs up for Mental Killing Spree for bravery and offering their first album as a free download and under CC! About the music. There is a quite engaging mixture of a harder side of thrash and a lighter side of death metal here. Riffs aren’t extremely melodic - it’s not Metallica, and no Amon Amarth either - but they’re melodic enough to keep a listener interested.

Celestial Eon Project “Mind’s Eye” – relax or meditate to their soft melodies

Mind’s Eye is exactly the type of album you should listen to if you are feeling nostalgic and emotional. The compositions in this track intend to evoke entrancing emotions that will lure listeners even deeper to its melodies. The only question that remains, however, is if this intention was ever really fulfilled. Favorably speaking, all 13 songs in this EP—from songs entitled Virtue Lost to Woods of Eremae—are able to deliver what it poised itself to do.

Ben’s Imaginary Band “Nocturnal Fables and Illusions” – let his music take you to an ethereal realm

There are times when you want to be somewhere in your own imaginary world, with your own imaginations, away from the harsh, real world; and Ben's Imaginary Band would give that perfect 'imaginary ambiance' that you want. Nocturnal Fables and Illusions gives you soft songs which are almost like lullabies to your ears, and voices which sound like whispers. With 12 tracks of soft voices and seemingly hypnotizing melodies and rhythms, Nocturnal Fables and Illusions will surely transport you to your own pleasant realm.

Jamie Rumley “Renovations” – compelling vocals of a pure downhome female artist

Remember how The Corrs captivated our hearts with their downhome sound? I guess it’s about time for someone new to step in. Meet Jamie Rumley, a Folk Rock musician and a one woman band. Her album, “Renovations” was and still is a great hit in Jamendo’s charts. Expressive and very easy on the ear, this album is everything, but boring. Each song was carefully written so as to have easy-to-read lyrics and graceful tune. Jamie’s voice will not only make you listen to her songs, but also will make you fall in love with the Folk Rock genre.
