Privates

Rated 14+, Privates, is a Zombie Cow Studios shooter game developed and released last August 2010. In the game, you lead a bunch of marines down, er, private parts to eradicate traces of sexual diseases. If you find battling chlamydia and herpes down the fallopian tube as interesting, then read on. The game is an unusual take on biology class, that's for sure. The game was rumored to be released on Xbox Live Indiegames, however, a spokesperson for Xbox has confirmed that they haven't received the submission yet. If reports online are to be believed about the content, he added, that it would probably not make the guidelines they have for sexual and explicit content in their games. Well, Xbox or no Xbox, at least you can enjoy this game for free download. Happy hunting!

Absent Feet: Soonrise

Relative newcomers, Absent Feet, has come out with their 5 track short album, Soonrise, through Jamendo. The album is filled with pop rock tracks that resound with slightly alternative pop vocals. Though they might look like the newest boyband on the block, the group's first foray into the indie music scene is actually worth checking out. Definitely an album that won't disappoint pop rockers out there.

Attack of the Paper Zombies

Attack of the Paper Zombies might seem like just another zombie game (and yes, the basic premise of kill-all-zombies is there) but it features pretty unique graphics and a nice system. Developed by IndieBird (Alex Vostrov), the game is quite simple but very entertaining to play. The game is an RTS game that sees you leading a band of space marines that have to fight off hordes of space zombies. It features graphics made to look like highschool scribble on graph paper; giving off that nice old school or classroom vibe to it. Despite its simplicity, Attack of the Paper Zombies is a fun game that'll find you blasting your way through thousands of red dot zombies in space as you try and reclaim their hive.

DK (Wayne Watts): 20 Something

Hip hop recording artist, DK aka Wayne Watts debuts his latest release, 20 Something. The album combines positive rap lyrics with great beats and a catchy hip hop vibe. The artist has collaborated with several prominent artists, both in the hip hop scene and outside. He has also recently opened for The All American Rejects. The artist has released several albums and mixes under his belt ever since he started out. Among his initial efforts, he released a full length album, That's My Boy (between 2003 to 2007.) He has also released other compilations like Tha Firelane Project (EP), his mixtape, While You Were Sleeping and this free digital download, 20 Something. This compilation is the most recent one Watts has to offer and it's definitely a solid collection of beats worth checking out.

Appetizer

Tired of looking at how disorganized your computer dock is? Then take a look at Appetizer. This small and portable application provides you with an easy to use application launcher. It's suitable for both Windows and Mac, making it easy to use regardless of your operating system. The program provides you with a cool and unintrusive shortcut that will help launch all of your important applications. You can easily organize files and folders without any trouble. Best of all, the system is absolutely free and can also be easily stored in your USB for portability. Appetizer has won several praises and accolades some of which include "freeware of the month" by Updatestar last year and among the "top 10 launchers" for  Clubic.

The Night Terrors: Nasty

Hauntingly beautiful 4 track EP that's offered absolutely free. If you are a big fan of alternative indie Brit rock and equally love anything about the dark side, then this is a great EP to have. These 4 tracks from The Night Terrors will definitely send chills down your spine with its upbeat rockish tempo and hipster vibe. These Northern Londoners definitely know how to give out a good scare as well as great music to anyone that's up for a bit of good time.

Jable’s Adventure

Developer Jason "Jajitsu" Boyer has come up with one of the most entertaining, not to mention very funny little platformer called Jable's Adventure. It's about a kid who has a squid on his head. The squid suddenly shows up one day and proclaims Jabel to be the hero. Meanwhile, Jabel is curious about this "hero" thing and decides to go along. He then sets off  in these adventures where he bother's mermaids, shoots bears and other weird creatures. This fun game contains amazing graphics that  you didn't even think was possible in pixel art. Even better is that the game contains an awesome soundtrack (which you can download separately) as well as great gameplay. It's a bit short at under an hour, depending on your speed, but it's definitely a fun play. So if you have nothing better to do, have a go at playing this highly entertaining platformer.

Maria Rodes: Sin Tecnica (Without Art)

Spanish singer and songwriter, Maria Rodes, has released her latest album, Sin Tecnica. Now, I know that you might not want to listen to an album where English isn't the main language, but trust me, this is a worthy album. Maria Rodes creates folkpop indie acoustic tracks with a slightly alternative edge. Her voice is beautiful and her compositions and melodies are very pretty. Her tracks masquerade in simplicity yet are very rich and diverse.
