Young & Research II gives you a great teaser on what to expect from the more than 5 year old record label, Tough Love. The compilation takes 13 tracks from the London-based label and compiles them to create one amazing record.
It’s been an exciting year for the label so far, they managed to release two of their first full LPs from Girls Names and Cymbals. They also gathered up an awesome set of tracks for Young & Research II.
Most of the songs featured in the album include exclusives as well as brand new recordings from various artists. You’ll find plenty of great new bands to like in this one.
One of the bands featured in this sampler include the Cymbals. Their upbeat electro indie rock cut, Single  Printed Name provides an energy filled opener for the compilation. Recently, they came out with their debut record, Unlearn, through the label and so far it’s been gaining plenty of positive feedback. It’s a limited edition album, with only 300 copies available.
Another band that’s included in the sampler is the three-piece, Charles Hurts. With their brand of retro rock, these broken-hearted boys from Belfast certainly know how to capture your attention. Their track, Guess Again, is one of my favorites in the compilation. It mixes a jaunty rock and roll beat with slightly jaded vocals; lovely cut to listen to.
The rest of the songs are equally likable and exciting. You’ll find something to love in this neat sampler. Head on over to their BandCamp page and hit the download link and you’ll be on your way.
