The Spirit Engine 2

Do you feel it's about time for some old-school 2D action? Yes, me too. So here it is, an indie RPG that provides an exciting gameplay with very decent graphics. Spirit Engine 2 is the sequel to the original Spirit Engine released in November of 2003. The sequel, however, features a whole new world, new characters, revamped graphics, and an all new game engine. Players who played the orignal version will certainly experience an overall better gameplay. The Spirit Engine 2 was developed by Natomics Studio under Mark Play, who also drew, wrote and programmed the entire game; depicting a fantasy world with evil nemesis and various hurdles that come in the way of the main characters.

Cloudkicker: Beacons

Okay, Cloudkicker officially has my vote for being one of the sickest metal bands offering music for free online. Even more impressive perhaps is the fact that there's only one guy manning all the luscious mayhem you hear when you hit the play button. Ben Sharp, aka Cloudkicker, has been winning praises and reviews from artists and enthusiasts everywhere thanks to his consistent, enjoyable and innovative sound. Beacons is his second album and was released a couple of years ago in 2010. Featuring 10 loud instrumental progressive rock tracks, you'll find the record as a good distraction you'll want to entertain for a long time.

Barcode Scanner

If you are a geek and love fiddling around with the tech related stuff on Android, and HD games, fun apps, educational apps are not your cup of tea, then Barcode Scanner is the way to go without thinking twice. Created by ZXing Team, this developer might not have a lot under its belt, yet with the the download numbers for this app reaching high 250k you just might be for a real treat!

Poor Remy: Still Sleeping EP

When it comes to Poor Remy, you can expect to hear a lot of two things, harmonicas as well as harmonies. The trio of Adrian, Andrew and Kenneth fuse together a collection of folky instruments and gang vocals to create a frenetic yet surprisingly soothing energy in their music. Harnessing a beautiful folk and bluegrass sound, you'll get plenty of fun and unexpected rhythms on this short EP.

Kagemono: The Shadow Folk

Craving for another spellbinding animation? Then push that play button and devour on the magnificent short, Kagemono: The Shadow Folk. Created by Sabrina Cotugno as a fourth year project in the California Institute of the Arts , this 4-minuter film revolves around a little fox who goes hunting on the woods, without knowing what strange discoveries lay ahead. One thing that makes this film standout is its classic, Ghibi-like visuals. It creates a nostalgic experience for those who grew up with old-school animation. I love how it’s packed with strange beings that deliver a subtle, fantasy world that’s easy to understand.

Slowdance: Light & Color EP

Ready for some explosive eletro pop? Slowdance's debut EP Light & Color is a mirror reflection of the group's hip and funky sensibility. Slowdance is a five-piece, Brooklyn-based band composed of Quay Quin-Settel (Vocals), Kyle McKeveny (Guitar), Thomas Quigley (Bass), Luke Fox (Synth), and Sam Koppelman (Drums). Released last September 21, 2011, the album offers four teasing tracks of energy filled pop tunes.

Men in Black 3

Men in Black 3 by Gameloft is one of those movie tie-in games that actually works. The game is a combination of turn based fighting and gathering resources. MIB 3 pulls it off successfully. In many ways, the game is more interesting than the movie. The premise is familiar: players start off with limited materials. As the game progresses, you get to expand the MIB base and create powerful weapons. Aside from base expansion, you’ll be able to heal injured agents and upgrade equipment. With assistance from agents D and J, your chances of saving the Earth from aliens increase.

Kings of the City: A FrostWire Special

With the advent of bands combining elements from different genres such as the rock scene and the hip-hop culture, mixing up guitar riffs with mad beats and free flowing lyrics, Kings of the City does a great job in standing out from the crowd. This London-based seven man group blends blues, rock-n-roll, hip-hop and grime like no other. A diverse group as theirs will surely cater to audiences who like unique sounds and have eclectic musical taste.
