Shazam

You play with the radio frequency in your car and suddenly hear a song that makes you go "Oo La la", but have just no clue about the song. Well, here comes Shazam to the rescue. This piece of software helps in identifying a song by just listening to a part of it. Shazam is one of the most ideal music identifying apps over multiple platforms. Developed by Shazam Entertainment Ltd., the quality is assured and so are the future updates to the app. Music buffs who just love hearing the songs on the radio and need to download in an easy way, should have Shazam installed on their devices.

Viber

Love the Skype experience, but something still feels amiss? Well, the only possible solution for Android and iPhone users out there is Viber. This particular app allows all Viber users to make free calls and texts without any incurring charges. Wow, this is greatness in times of recession. Developed by Viber Media Inc., the developers had first launched the app for the iPhone and have recently rolled it out for Android. So now free calls are not only limited to just iPhone users, but the magic has become cross-platform and a pure treat.

Glass Tower 3

If Tetris makes you crave arcade-gaming, but the graphics are nothing more than an eye-sore, its time to play Glass Tower 3 on the iOS platform. The game is all about blocks with a new & fresh twist. Unlike other games in this genre, you have to break some blocks and you have to save some blocks in order to win the game. It is also based on a physics based engine, which makes it more entertaining, challenging and unique to play.

Crime City

Gamers get ready to spread crime on the streets with Crime City for iOS. The game functions similarly to the recently launched Mafia Wars 2 by Zynga, but together with the nice gameplay and the fact, that you need to grow your mafia by adding people, it really raises the bar. Developed by Funzio, Crime City for iOS takes the exact same cue from the Facebook version and acts similarly when it comes to gameplay, visuals, characters, ammunition, and surroundings. The game looks quite good on the iPhone and customization options are plenty.

Glass Pong

Yet another fun, casual, time-killer game hits the iOS platform and this one is called, Glass Pong. Yes, you heard it right. The game is very basic and there is nothing hardcore about it, so there are no gimmicks, only visually appealing graphics, tough gameplay, zombies, adrenaline pumping speed and the works. Developed by Sigma Communications, a Japan based company, Glass Pong is a quintessential animated game with a typical Japanese touch, noticed especially in gameplay, sounds, music and environments.

VEVO

VEVO is a premium music service with over 7500 artists and a large library of videos, exclusive clips, top charts, top playlists and the work. There is also an original music programming feature within the app. VEVO is a joint venture between Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, and Abu Dhabi Media, while record label EMI licenses its content to VEVO without charging any ownership royalty fees. The videos of VEVO are channeled through the internet and the total advertising revenue is shared between Google and VEVO.

Firefox 8.0

Mozilla Firefox is synonymous with desktop browsing and it certainly has come a long way with solutions spanning to the smartphone territory. The recent update the browser received has indeed hiked the overall usage and adds some of the most amazing web-browsing features. Firefox 8 adds improvement to the Html render and also supports Html 5 for a much better gaming experience in the web-browser itself. Another great addition to the line-up was Twitter integration (will get to that, later in the post).

Contract Killer: Zombies

This time we bring something for the power-hungry gamer on both Android and iOS ecosystem in the form of Contract Killer: Zombies, an FPS game with highly detailed visuals and a very intuitive gameplay mechanism. The game takes its cue from the original Contract Killer version, but this time replacing human targets with brain-dead, flesh hungry and blood thirsty zombies. Brought to us by Glu, who have created some very visually intensive games in the past, the developers have raised the bar yet again with Contract Killer: Zombies.
